My brother and I shared the Thai Pho (level 2), and both really enjoyed it. It was a large portion of food, and we were both full after sharing it. Forever went by, she dropped off the wine, then said she would put in our order....um.....what? We've already been here forever, just to get a glass of wine, and you still haven't placed the order? Forever went by, got our appetizer of Spring Rolls-we had to ask for plates and a napkin/silverware setting as our hot food sat in front of us-biggest pet peeve, apart from sitting in the WORST spot, is getting food served with NO means to eat it with. (I would have asked prior, but never saw our server after the wine drop off) She brought us the place settings, we each ate one. Had one left we were going to take home. Forever went by (haven't seen the server still) so we decided to split the 3rd roll instead of getting a box. Another forever went by, I'm done with my glass of wine, and I sipped it SUPER slowly. The dirty dishes sat on the table, no water refills, no wine refill.....Finally the hostess came by and grabbed some of the dishes.....'food should be out shortly' she said......it wasn't.....more time passed, another server stopped by (who I wish we would have had, as he, David, was chatting it up with his tables, super attentive, etc-would have made our night a 5 star night-I overheard him telling the couple across from us who just sat down about some ginger cocktail....i would have loved to have had that-i just assumed since beer was the only drink menu, they prob had wine also-a cocktail menu at the table or at the time of sitting would have been nice.) It did take FOREVER, and I wouldn't have minded if the server came by to check in, or offer more to drink - didn't even get water until a long time had passed. On our way out, another patron was NOT happy. After loving this place for years had a terrible DoorDash experience with their HORRIBLE food. Stale and freezer burn shrimp in both the curry and the cooked veggie entrees, over cooked veggies next to RAW green beans. Coconut shrimp was so burnt it was inedible. The rice was NOT COOKED and hard and when we called and left messages hoping to resolve with the restaurant they never returned our calls then it was too late for DoorDash to remedy. This was a special occasion splurge for my elderly and disabled mother and it was waste of almost $200 dollars. The restaurant couldn't be bothered to call us back after several messages were left and the food all went in the trash. I've never been served such disgusting slop. We previously ate here every few months and loved their curries. This was a complete disaster that no one cared about. Serving stale shrimp and raw veggies with uncooked rice is food poisoning waiting to happen. Not responding to customers calls asking to be contacted is just mismanagement at its finest. They have a nice full bar with some good cocktails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a huge fish tank down the center of the restaurant loaded with Koi. It's quite pretty[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the service has always been friendly (been there 3 times). I think all 3 times they have mentioned that the food would be a little bit longer delivery time, as every dish is hand made to order. Honestly with a decent appetizer and one of their excellent cocktails I really never noticed the food being slow. They have many familiar Thai dishes and all that I've had were well executed. So bad. Last night my teen and I went for dinner and it was so depressing. I spent nearly 80$ on dinner for two and received horrible service. The employees were all clearly overwhelmed and unable to do the job. We had no water refills. No one checked on us once. We waited for 45 minutes for our food. Our level 2 spiced pad Thai was dry and super spicy and tasted like black pepper. It didn't taste like Thai food at all. I don't know what it was but it wasn't pad Thai. I've been eating at this place for years too so I was bummed. Thai food is my favorite food in the planet. This used to be a decent spot to eat but helllllll no. I'll never come back. The interior decor is nice, and definitely feels like Thai. Our server was very good, friendly and attentive. We ordered Orange Thai Basil Chicken and Pork Yellow Curry and started with Chicken Satay. The chicken Satay was small and thinly sliced but tasted good. Most chicken satay I have had is thicker and on a skewer. I give this a 3 star. The yellow curry tasted good but was very thin, more like soup instead of a thicker texture that is usually what I see. I give this a 3. The orange chicken tasted fine but was not crispy. It was a little soggy sitting in the sauce. I give this a 3 as well. The service was excellent, the decor was authentic, but the food was mediocre. Sadly, not the best Thai food that I have had. read more

First timers here for a girls dinner date and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside. This place is located in the historic downtown area and directly across the street from the courthouse square. Parking is available on the street in front of business and surrounding streets. We were seated in a booth and were quickly greeted by our server who was very polite and helpful. She answered all our questions about the menu and gave us time to look it over. We actually skipped on the alcohol this evening (I know!), however we did review the extensive wine selection and were blown away by the huge bar! I'm telling you, this place is not what you would expect it to be from the outside! We will definitely have to go back just to sit and order from the bar. Anyway, we weren't to sure what to order, but I decided on a chicken noodle dish that included basil in the ingredients and my friend chose another noodle dish. Because I like my food spicy, I went with "Thai spicy", which btw wasn't very spicy at all... I'm going to go with it's just me! I love caliente spicy!!! We also ordered some spring rolls as an appetizer, because why not??? So our appetizer was served right away and was super hot. The rolls were tasty, but unfortunately, they were also very greasy. I mean it didn't keep us from eating them, but we had to squeeze the grease off with our napkins... Our food was also served quickly and came out nice and hot just as I like it. I was a bit disappointed with the noodles (wide egg noodles), because they were too sticky and overcooked for my liking. The flavor was on point, spice level not bad, and serving size was perfect. My friend also enjoyed her meal, but agreed that the noodles were overcooked. I'm definitely not a Thai food expert, so I will have to consult with my daughter and find out how and what to order next time. The three star rating is only on the food. Until the change of ownership, Tara Thai was our favorite restaurant, both for the food and service. However, since the change of ownership, everything has changed and not in a good way. We initially attributed the poor service and inattention to the transition, since almost the entire wait-staff had been replaced. However, even over past, recent months (Fall 2025) the problems continued, with our experience Acker Night hitting rock bottom. Despite having reservations, getting seated and provided menus took about 20 minutes, and another 20 elapsed before we got our drinks and could order food (with a menu completely different and more expensive than the usual fare). Long story short, the dining "experience" took over 90 minutes. Owner/manager Matt (quite cordial and polite) was apologetic and attributed the poor service to problems with a server and a dishwasher who failed to show up for work. However, previous dinners at the restaurant over previous months provided similar delays and staff inattention. As negative as this review is, Tara's present, serious shortcomings need not be terminal. Both kitchen and server staff (including bartender) numbers need to be increased, and the menu and food prices should be consistent. As Nike would say, "Just Do It!" read more

They open for lunch at 11 am. I got there spot on at 11 am. 1. The front door sticks in such a way as to suggest the door is locked. I pulled super hard and it did open. 2. Instead of acknowledging us she went to the bar and told us "go ahead and seat yourself" 3. To be fair to her she was nice enough. Attentive to us... not at all. 4. We ordered our meal (11:15) and a appetizer (spring rolls 2 of generous size and they had a weird off flavor, burnt cooking oil?) and it came with a teensie weensie thimble of dipping sauce. I asked for a second thimble of sauce. She left never to return. 5. Our order came (approximately 11:45) and she remembered the extra dipping sauce to which I replied " Too late as we had eaten our rolls." No apology, nothing suggested as :I am sorry about that." 6. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During our meal we kept noticing people trying to open the door (see #1) peering in the windows and then leaving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 7. At this point the bartender? came in and starting doing his thing. I asked "Are you the owner?" "We are noticing people trying to come into your business and leaving. Is there an open sign that needs to be turned on? " He replied, pointing "Yes, it is in that window." At this point the waitress piped in "I forgot to turn it on." At this moment neither person took the time and effort to go turn it on. 8. The food... I had Pad Thai... terrible... chicken way over cooked. My friend had the orange chicken. I tried a bite... not good also. 9. End of meal we asked for a to go box. Waitress disappeared again. it was only by flagging her down that we got her attention to get us the to go box. 10. We asked for separate tickets, the bill came as one. She had to re-do it. 11. Gave her our cards and she returned them to the wrong person. So for me I will not go back. I will not recommend Tara Thai. Was there any one misstep I couldn't forgive? Not really but total up the issues and it looks to me like you have a owner that does not care about their business and more importantly their customers. Sorry Tara! Two thumbs down. Tara Fine Thai Cuisine is underrated. Our group was in town for the day and Thai food was suggested for lunch. Personally, I didn't expect to find Thai cuisine in Prescott, let alone a place that can hold its own with the ones I know in Phoenix. The three of us were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. There are traditional elements and decor. There's natural light from a giant skylight in the back, a long fountain that divides the open dining room down the middle, a full bar and a clunky little fire place in the corner. This place has character and charm. More on the fireplace in a bit. Service was spot on. Very friendly, good recommendations, and our meal was served quickly. Everyone enjoyed their curries and Pho. And none of us had ever seen Pho served in the contraption that was plated. Look at the photos! It's pretty cool, and it keeps the Pho nice and hot. Overall, on the quality of the food and the service, Tara Fine Thai deserves five stars. I took off one star because the dining room has so much potential to make the dining experience perfect. Another reviewer mentioned the carpet. Agreed. With a good deep clean, bringing some cohesiveness to the decor, scattering the plants around the dining room, and removing the fake fireplace, Tara Fine Thai would live up to the beautiful doors at the entrance. We were seated near the fireplace and admired the brickwork, but it's obviously not functional. The bricks stop short of the ceiling. And it feels out of place.
