Joan was recommended to me by a friend and I never actually met her until my wedding day, but she immediately felt like an old friend there to enjoy our special day with us. She made me (and my husband, who is camera shy) feel comfortable in front of her camera, which I know isn't always easy. Taking pictures didn't feel like a chore because we spent the whole day laughing (and crying) while taking them. She captured the most special day of my life so beautifully and I will forever cherish those memories. Joan sent us sneak peeks the night of the wedding which of course prompted more tears. She sent a few more teasers along the way and then we had the full gallery within a month of our wedding day. By the time she was done editing there were still 600+ of them and somehow even with that many - each photo told a story. Right off the bat the inquiry email was replied to with a friendly demeanor. No cut and paste "here's our pricing" forms. We got TWO photographers, which is awesome because while one is taking posed photos, the other is snapping candid photos (those always make for great photos.) The price was awesome! Both photographers were professional, fun, happy to be there, and creative with posing. They were patient and not once did my family feel like they were rushing us. The photos are amazing!!!!! We had a long list of shots and poses we wanted, and they made sure every photo was covered the way we wanted it to be done. My family is one that isn't picky with things, but when they find someone or something they love we stick with it. EVERY family member commented even days later that they will use Tallen Photography for every event from now on.

I know it was very late to cancel the contract but I would definitely regret to have him as my wedding photographer. His work ethic was unacceptable in the sense that he was busy enjoying himself at the engagement party than doing his job as a professional photographer. My husband and I can't recommend her highly enough. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was so easy to work with. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Melanie had a timeline of everything that needed to get done (even the little things) and she made sure we were on-schedule. She gave us excellent vendor recommendations (people told us that the food was the best they've had at a wedding, and the band was a huge hit as well!). She was extremely responsive and would even have us send her things we liked from Instagram for inspiration. Every time we got off the phone with her we would look at each other and say "I'm so glad we have Melanie on our team." She kept us on-budget and helped us understand what it was worth it to spend on as we searched for venues, caterers, bands, flowers, and more. During the wedding week and weekend, Melanie kept everyone calm and on-task. She made sure all the tents, tables, chairs, etc were delivered on-time and everyone was where they should be. She took care of all the "little things" that we didn't think of and even coordinated our rehearsal. The event was beautiful, and we owe a lot of that to Melanie's tasteful suggestions. (She also let us borrow a lot of her own things like signs and a cake stand.)
