Booking…read morewas super easy--you do it through the website and I was able to reschedule my session with no problem. Pricing is great especially for the quality and the photos you get. I sent them to a friend who had already booked her own newborn photo shoot and she said she regretted putting down a deposit with another photographer because she loved Nicole's style! We don't take a lot of photos and are pretty camera-shy, but Nicole was very helpful and gently guided us on what to do and made us feel free to try out different things. She was very gracious during our session and even went a little over time because we had to feed the baby in the middle of it. Photos came back within two weeks and we're very happy with them. Definitely will be recommending to my friends and hope to book Nicole again!

To start, the booking process was incredibly easy through her website and she was easily able to help reschedule my session (both the date and location!) over email. I felt very comfortable with her as soon as the session started and she walked me through what our time would look like. The gallery is incredible; I haven't loved photos of myself this much in years! I will be recommending Nicole to anyone in need of a photographer in the Boston area. It was so worth the investment!

I'm writing this now because it has taken me six months after this horrible experience with our wedding photographer to even be able to put it into words without getting upset. My husband and I hired Shannon Rose as our wedding photographer back in May. This turned out to be a horrible mistake, or should I say nightmare! Throughout the evening, we had a difficult time trying to locate her to take pictures, contradicting the "no-stress" element when it comes to pictures that a photographer is supposed to provide. After three and a half hours, she told us she was leaving stating she had taken enough photos. However, she charged us for six hours. She, also, promised us family photos at a later date to make up for leaving early which we never got, or even a follow-up from her to plan them. This is where it got ugly. Upon receiving the wedding photos, we were extremely disappointed. When I expressed my feelings on that, she became very angry, belligerent, and argumentative. The only photos of my husband and I, alone, were during our vow exchanges and on the dance floor. More than half our guests are not in any of the photos. To be honest, my twelve year old niece could have done a better job. With all that being said, you usually only spend your money on a photographer when you want to ensure your special occasions are captured correctly. Therefore, I would greatly advise you to get references because these occasions are not something you get to go back in time to relive...that's what the pictures were supposed to be for.

A week later or so I went for the viewing of the images. They came out beautiful. I did a payment plan and once you pay everything in full you can receive your pictures. However, I was told via email that Dan would reach out to me once they were ready to pick up. I never heard back. I sent numerous emails with no response. I just want an update on the black book and digital photos. This was not my first shoot. The last one I did with another photographer and received my images via link two weeks later. Not sure what the hold up is. I'm ok waiting for my images I just want an update. Just poor customer service.

Daniel was out of our range as well, so we set up a meeting with Daniel. A few days before our appointment, I told another friend that we were meeting him and she immediately started telling me horror stories about her cousin's wedding, when Curtis was the photographer. She said he took photos she didn't want, didn't take photos she did want, held them too long so they missed part of the party, etc. I figured everyone's experience is difference and despite our hesitation from this review, my fiance & I met with Curtis anyway. When we showed up, we were very impressed with the studio. It's a guest house off Daniel's real house and is very warm and inviting - nice couch, fireplace, framed pictures all over - very neat and clean. Daniel and Curtis were both there and left us for a few minutes to peruse their albums. Once they came back to chat with us, we found it a bit weird that Daniel did 98% of the talking. Yes, it's his business, but they both knew we were there to meet with Curtis, as he was the one we were interested in hiring. Curtis said one or two things, but we were not able to really get a feel for him, except to see that he wasn't very "forward" - which is something I feel a photographer needs to be. They need to feel comfortable jumping in at any moment to get a shot, but not ruin that moment. This was the main reason we didn't go with them. Yes, I had my friend's horror stories in the back of my mind, but if we had been able to chat with him - with Daniel jumping in every so often, instead of the other way around - we might have hired him. I think it's good that Daniel was there to support his employee and try to sell his business, but I think he should have let the photographer we were there to meet with do the talking.
