Last week, a friend and I stayed overnight at Tarabino Inn. We didn't get to spend too much time there because our train ride to Trinidad was severely delayed. We stayed in the Sorrentino room, the inn's grand suite, and loved it. Everything was perfect. The room is spacious, with a seating area, and a large bathroom with an enormous clawfoot bathtub. Everything was clean, the bed comfortable. My friend and I were afraid we would be awake all night, being in an unfamiliar bed, but we slept well. The entire place didn't break from the Victorian ambiance. I was really impressed because the inn was recently sold, and they are in the process of switching over from the previous owner to the new one. Everything went smoothly. Joy, the new innkeeper, is a great communicator and kept me up-to-date as needed. I highly recommend staying here. read more

I was absolutely impressed by this B&B! Upon arrival you walk up these magnificent staircase to the lovely wood door with a covered front patio in case you need to wait a sec. (Don't forget these are B&Bs and usually owners have to go run out and grab necessary items to run it) we called upon arrival as stated at the door and the owner arrived shortly after to let us in; it was nice to sit and take in the fresh air. She gave us recommendations which we did like the places she suggested. The owner made a lovely breakfast every morning; I've never had breakfast casserole and it was great! She also had juices, sides, and coffee. I would definitely recommend staying here for a short weekend trip! It is absolutely stunning and the host was super sweet! read more

Spent a delightful night at this beautifully maintained, historic B&B. Stayed in the Grand Suite on the 2nd floor. It was a cold, snowy night in Trinidad CO but we were snuggly warm under the lovely comforter. Remember this house is from 1907 so you can't expect every modern convenience. Something to be said for clawfoot tubs, radiators, beautiful woodwork, creaky wooden floors, old "flowing" glass windows and a "widow's walk". Loved it! read more

Joy was exactly what her name implies. She greeted us with casual and warm hospitality, talking to us as though we were old friends. She missed no detail in setting us (and our 6-month-old) up. This place was beautiful and such a fun experience! We had the suite on the main floor. The bathroom was outside of our door, but it was still private enough. read more

We loved our stay in Trinidad at the Tarantino. We had a lovely large room with a balcony. It was near the Main Street for easy access to restaurants. Breakfast was provided. We will stay there again. read more

Do not stay anywhere else if your in the Trinidad area! This is the most unique and beautiful experience. Every room is unique and beautifully decorated from the Victorian era. As a guest you get access to dining room, parlor, library and more. Even thought the house was built in the early 1900s, it was clean, neat and had all the modern necessities you need without looking modern at all! We felt like royalty! Easy walking access to the cutest downtown area with plenty of cute shops and restaurants. This would be the perfect place to rent out for a mystery dinner party! read more

It is like staying in a romantic Italian flat. We stayed in the Trinidad Suite. If you are bored with the ho hum roadside hotel and you are staying in Trinidad Colorado, this is a great alternative. The old home is beautifully restored, wood floors, antique furniture, terraces to step outside and enjoy a beautiful view of the town. The hot water shower was great and the breakfast snack basket left for you in the morning is perfect for your day of travel. I highly recommend this accommodation. read more

2 days ago, we booked the full basement suite for myself and two other travelers. We contracted covid today, the day of check-in and the Tarabino manager refused to refund us any portion of our stay. Not only is this poor customer service but a very unhealthy public health decision. Tarabino staff (Steve) was contacted twice today in an effort to resolve the issue in a way that was mutually agreeable and he outright refused any discussion. Rather than loosing our $265, we will instead be seeing all you fine folks in the lobby of the Tarabino, Covid germs in hand, at 3pm sharp today to check in! See you there! We will try not to get you sick at the cost of the owners greed! Looks they received a Federal PPP loan that was since forgiven. Be well! Tarabino doesn't care about you, taxpayers or any of their guests. read more

This was such a perfect little place. The owners offered to collect us from the train station and drive us back to meet the train, and when we arrived in the evening there was tea, cocoa, fresh fruit, and freshly baked brownies awaiting us. We were warmly welcomed, given a quick tour of the town with dinner recommendations, and settled in our rooms. We rented the top floor with two rooms and a shared bathroom between them, and it was a very comfortable space for our family. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding and catered to dietary needs in our family. We were also welcomed to leave our bags safely in the Inn during the day after check out, and the owner kept us up to date on the delay our train was experiencing so we didn't have to wait at the station too long. We loved the Tarabino Inn overall, and it was the little things like the very personal guest books and the robes in our rooms that made us really feel like we'd stumbled on a special place. read more

We visited the Tarabino with our 13 year old and 15 year old on our way to a spring break ski trip in Colorado. We have stayed in Trinidad several times in the past, as we have been coming to Colorado for skiing and for summer for at least 2 decades and almost always drive from Texas for the longer stays. We were able to direct message with the owners because we were arriving after midnight due to road construction delays and not getting out of town as soon as we had planned. They had our room, including a roll away for our daughter made up, as well as the sleeper sofa for our son. The king bed was comfy. Everyone got a great nights sleep. They left snacks too and the en suite bathroom was large and well stocked. We normally look for hotels with a 2 bedroom suite or just get 2 rooms, given that we have opposite sex teens, but the Grand Suite was perfect--especially since they were kind enough to set everything up for our late arrival. We would absolutely stay here again. Best place we have stayed in Trinidad and we have stayed at La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express, etc..... This was a welcome break from the road. Great attention to detail! Thanks for your hospitality and special touches--much appreciated. Especially post Covid when customer service in most places seems to have died a gruesome death. read more

My family and I recently spent a night at the Tarabino Inn. The house itself is beautiful, and the attention to detail is wonderful! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed sipping wine on the front porch, watching the thunderstorm roll in. Much as we enjoyed the house, the owner who interacted with us could not have been less interested in providing a warm welcome, or a fond farewell. I work in the hospitality industry, and I am baffled as to why this woman is running a B and B. She did not invite or participate in conversation when we showed interest in her home, how long she has owned it, or details on a local artist whose work she displays in the home. She did not express any curiosity as to what brought us to town, she did not provide us with any dining or activity suggestions, and she seemed annoyed when the three of us wanted to pay for our rooms separately. It is sad to us that what we learned about the inn came from reading its history on our own, rather than hearing about it from the owner. People stay in bed and breakfasts rather than in hotels in order to interact with the owners, and learn about their home and town from a local perspective. We might as well have stayed at a motel. We were disappointed, and we will not return. read more
