There's not a lot in Frazier Park but this place was nice. After a day of hiking, we wanted to stop in town for a nice cold one. Well, Sunday, there wasn't a lot happening in town. Which is quite small and it was a first for us visiting and driving through. The town is basically on one Main Street where all the business are and the homes is surrounding the area. Quaint and quiet. Everyone knows each other. We found this place driving through looking for somewhere to stop. At first, we didn't think it was open till you get to the front door and hear the music. Inside is quite big compared to what it looks like from the outside. There was a good amount of people inside mingling and having a good time. Like mentioned, everyone knows each other. It's a bar with pool tables and dart games. I believe they also have karaoke on certain days. Full bar on one side which everything is served. Right when we walked in, the crowd was pretty nice. The lady behind the bar was very nice and friendly. She was there for a bit before finishing up her shift. Even had a really nice conversation with a local who recommended some places next time we were in town. It's a pretty cool bar. Everyone was there for the same reason. To have a drink and have fun. People playing pool, chatting away and catching up. read more

Found this great local place while exploring the mountain roadways. We had to come back the next week to enjoy some karaoke . Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I love finding authentic small-town places like this. Cool stone building dates from 1925. There really is a Sue; she's owned it for 17 years. She was friendly and there were sociable locals hanging out, and a nice, helpful staff, as well. COVID update as if September 2020: They're serving simple, inexpensive (like, $7) meals to legally stay open, out back on their dirt "patio." Ribs was the meal of the day but they made me a vegetarian version with coleslaw, potato salad, and some fettuccine. Not gourmet by any means, but I felt fed and cared-for, and enjoyed my visit. I'd like to come back when things normalize and we can go into the old-time interior (now it's just a peek when you use the bathroom). read more

I decided to visit Frazier Park the other day on the way back from the outlets, and the Starbucks right by the outlets, down the Grapevine from the small towns of Lebec and Frazier Park. I hadn't been to Frazier Park since my parents took me there to play in the snow when I was a little kid. I checked this place out and really liked it! I had a beer and hung out at the bar here for a little while before meeting my friend and his family for dinner in Santa Clarita. The bartender Amanda, and the customers there, were really nice! I wish that I could've stayed for the live band that was performing there that night. I also really liked the town of Frazier Park! I'll definitely do another day trip there soon, and will definitely go back to this great bar! read more

We were staying in the Arvin area near the outlets on business and were tired of the fast food options and found this great place not too far down the road off 5. We had seen the great reviews and wanted to check it out. It is pretty unassuming as you park your car but don't let that stop you. We arrived around 6:30 on a Tuesday night and when we walked in there was nobody there but then suddenly a welcoming young woman came out of the back and welcomed us. Mercy was her name and she welcomed us and made us feel at home. Note that they do not serve food but we ordered delivery from a local pizza place and had it delivered. They have a great beer selection and they have a few pool tables as well. There is a jukebox that you can play songs on and the place definitely picked up after a while with locals arriving. We just had a blast at this place and I wish there were more places like this when I travel. Thanks again Mercy for your hospitality and welcoming all of us from around the country. read more

I have lived in the Fraser Park area for over six years went into Sue's for the very first time with a friend to have a drink after work. It is a classic bar the people knew each other. Everyone was friendly the drink was perfect. Definitely will go back more than once every six years. read more

worst customer service I've ever experienced. The bartender, Lindsey, made comments about wanting to close up from the moment we got there at 10pm on a Thursday. Her nasty attitude & little comments succeeded in getting us to leave after less than 20 minutes. We drove over 40 minutes to check out this spot and were stunned by the inhospitality. Clean, fun, nice local customers and staff when we visit. A full, well stocked cocktail bar with plenty of beers to choose and chips and nuts. Reasonable drink prices. No food. Only one TV we could find, but it seems to have most sports. Three pool tables with a few free pool nights if ya buy 2 drinks. Occasional bands and Karaoke. Fireplace in a cozy corner. Amanda is a fantastic bartender. Attractive and sweet as sugar, good service and nobody's fool, doesn't take crap from anyone. Tips appreciated. Pre-scouted this place on Yelp for our recent buddy trip to Bakersfield, figuring we would need a pit stop at this juncture. Score! Friendly bartender and customers, decent selection of cold beer at more than fair prices. We happened to be there at the time of their yearly car show (Memorial Day Weekend), so the place was probably popping more than a typical Saturday afternoon. The clientele were probably more buzzed as well for this early on a Saturday due to the car show, but maybe not..?? This is the kind of place where people have their dogs tied up by the door begging for attention, kind of like me. It is only 10 minutes from the freeway, so plan your pit stop accordingly on your next trip through the Grapevine. It will be on my itinerary for all future trips whenever passing by. Me n jape were high on white and drunk on clear when we decided to hit sues last time, ended up stayin all day talking bout trucks and women and really havin a good time, then rusty came on in and ruined my day cuz he got all drunk and tried to hit me with a chair again sayin I was messin round with his ole lady last time we was drunk and I slept over but it ain't true not one bit I never once touched her since they been datin, that's the truth so help Me Bosefus. We just love this place. Just recently moved up here and we frequent sues tavern regularly. The drinks arent weak ( or too strong ) and they have a killer jukebox. Wish they offered some type of apetizers though. It seems like there may be room for it read more

Went here on a Sunday driving from Merced to Los Angeles. Very cool hole in the wall type bar, dollar bills on the ceiling an overall great atmosphere. What made our experience exceptional was the petite bartender working. I believe she said her name was Amanda. She was outgoing and made excellent cocktails, there were quite a few locals in the bar who I could tell had a fun relationship with our beloved bartender, everyone was upbeat and full of smiles I haven't walked into a bar feeling so welcomed....I think....ever. Truly a cool place to check out. Also the bartender made the whole experience a positive one, we left shortly after her shift ended given the girl that came in after had the worst attitude and basically ignored us the entire time. I literally came here for this place having only 2 reviews. It came off as uncharted territory. I needed to explore; It's the indigenous in me. Upon discovering Sue's via yelp, I called to see what time the place closes. A charming lady picked up with heavy heavy crowd ambience in the background. She couldn't hear my request for the business hours, so she asks for me to wait one minute as she goes outside with what appears to be a landline cordless to cater to a potentially new customer request. #oldschool #fastforward Pulled up to Sues with my window down to hear heavy heavy rock live bands playing. Immediately thinking this is no place for indigenous or any sort of minorities. I pull to the side. Ask Siri to pick a number between 0 and 10 to decide my fate (because I've come this far). Now, I'm the kind of person who believes all even dice or coin landings mean "do what's safe. do what prunes do". But I landed a 9 (an odd) so I choose to park. I walk to the door and nowwww there's Chris Brown and T-Pain playing. I immediately feel better about the choices made tonight. Walk in. Mixed crowd. Much greetings. Much love. I'm home. I love it.
