    Patio dining out back
    Steve H.

I love finding authentic small-town places like this. Cool stone building dates from 1925. There really is a Sue; she's owned it for 17 years. She was friendly and there were sociable locals hanging out, and a nice, helpful staff, as well. COVID update as if September 2020: They're serving simple, inexpensive (like, $7) meals to legally stay open, out back on their dirt "patio." Ribs was the meal of the day but they made me a vegetarian version with coleslaw, potato salad, and some fettuccine. Not gourmet by any means, but I felt fed and cared-for, and enjoyed my visit. I'd like to come back when things normalize and we can go into the old-time interior (now it's just a peek when you use the bathroom).

Great service and friendly bartenders. Reasonable prices. They have my favorite beer on tap. Calle blood orange squeeze.

Good watering hole for the area. Bartender was super nice. Definitely a local bar, so don't ruin it for the regs and respect the vibe.

Cool spot for a few beers and listening to music. Fast and friendly service. Would return when in the area.

Clean fun and good hearty locals. Bartender was full of energy and locals play pool. Good local bar for good warm, hearty laughs and fun.

The atmosphere felt warm, lively, and welcoming in a way that made it easy to relax and enjoy the moment. The food there tasted genuinely good to me, and every dish had the kind of flavor that makes you slow down and appreciate what you're eating instead of rushing through it. I liked how comfortable everything felt, and I appreciated that I could enjoy my time without feeling pressured or hurried. I noticed a lot of teenagers at this location, which made sense because the place has a fun, friendly vibe that younger people would enjoy a lot. Seeing them there made me realize how much teenagers would love spending time at The Perch, especially since it gives them a spot where they can eat good food, talk, laugh, and feel like they belong. Even though this restaurant was new to me, I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and settled in. I've only visited The Perch one time in my life before writing this review, but that one visit was enough for me to understand why people speak so positively about it. It's one of the most comfortable and enjoyable restaurants I've been to in a while, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a place to enjoy good food, spend time with friends, and feel part of a lively environment. If you're in Frazier Park and want a spot that feels inviting and fun, The Perch is definitely worth checking out.

Did not expect how amazing the food is considering how isolated the place is. We went there on a…read morerainy night, and the only ones there when we got seated. The server placed us near the heater, which was super nice and thoughtful. Food did take 30-40 mins to get ready, but we passed the time by playing UNO and pool available in the restaurant. The server recommended us some dishes and was nice to offer different ingredient subs to our liking. I did not expect the South African flatbread to be THAT good. It was sweet, crunchy, and delicious. I believe some people will be bothered by the sweetness, but it was perfect for me. They had an amazing list of cocktails and alcohol drinks as well. I enjoyed the ambiance and the intimate environment the place has. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.
