Since we were craving a hot lunch we decided to give the Condor Cafe at Pine Mountain Club a visit. We were greeted when we got there and were able to sit near the window for a nice golf course view. I ordered the bacon mushroom burger and my friend ordered the bacon mushroom grilled chicken sandwich and requested no bacon and substitute it with avocado. The waiter checked with the chef and got the thumbs up. We order side salads instead of fries, which were served first and we were delighted with the fresh greens. When the burgers arrived the one with avocado also had bacon. Not sure where we went wrong but she just took the bacon off. For the record, it was some of the best bacon I have had in a long time. The lunch crowd was small, however it was the middle of the week. We enjoyed the club grounds and took a nice walk around the golf course. All in all, lunch was a success and so was our visit. read more

I watch football upstairs and on occasion bring my girls in for breakfast. Let's talk football first - drinks are great- Daniel Brittany and Cindy are all THE BEST. They make me feel welcomed and when I'm not there they notice. For me thats huge. They pour fair drinks and give honest recommendations. Cindy's never steered me wrong on the dinner menu. And when I wanted bone in wings - they added it to the menu. MIKE (the main man) takes care of his people and it trickles down to the customers. Is this a five-star meal? No. Does it give you excellent bang for your buck with flavor that you wouldn't expect at the neighborhood club? Absolutely. The mashed potatoes are to die for. The grilled vegetables that come with it are better than expected, and although the steak was a little hard to cut through, for the price, the experience cannot be beat. The burger came highly recommended, and although it was simple, it was a classic and done well. They even add a little thousand island dressing that takes the traditional burger to the next level. We went on a Friday and there was live music, and although he wasn't playing songs that I knew, I could tell he was a talented musician, and it definitely added to the ambience. We were in Pine Mountain Club for Christmas and there wasn't much open. This restaurant at the golf course was about it for breakfast. Service was friendly and fast. My chicken fried steak was delicious and reasonably sized. My wife's pancake breakfast was done well and pancakes were huge. The price was reasonable considering the situation. It's plenty ok with me for next time we're up there. It was a little difficult to find. Google maps did not take us the right place and the sign outside the clubhouse says "condor cafe". read more

My family and I just had dinner here, we enjoyed great service with very attentive servers (even though they were short-staffed), great food, and great live music. I ordered the almond crusted salmon with a double side of veggies and it was SO good. When my plate arrived I thought the broccoli was under-cooked because of how firm and green it looked, but to my surprise it was perfect (for my taste) with the right amount of crunch - the lemon and salt on it was perfect too. The almond crust on the salmon was so VERY tasty, I wish I could have eaten the whole portion that was served, but alas we brought left-overs home :) My husband had the Philly cheese steak with the sweet potato fries and he enjoyed that as well. My family and I went up and rented a cabin near the Cafe, we arrived about 30 min before they stopped serving breakfast. We were seated quickly and that's about where the 1 star comes for this place. The waitress was absent the whole time, she couldn't remember who ordered what and then some other guy came to help her and he was even worse. The food was mediocre at best, they forgot 3 items that were supposed to come with the meal and when we were ready to close our tab they were no where to be found. We had to get up and go get our tab and the entire staff had a lousy attitude. read more

We've had some really great meals here at the Condor Cafe. Adam was our server both times and he is terrific. The other servers are friendly and helpful too. They have live music most Saturday's and the bands are great! The menu changes weekly and while it's not a huge menu it's a great variety and they keep it fresh. Wow, what a change! We have been coming to the lounge and restaurant at Pine Mountain Club for the last six years since we purchased our first log home here as a monthly getaway retreat. We have mostly been disappointed about coming to the the club house - except for its awesome location and views. But things are changing! We decided to head up to the lounge for a drink and found that there is a different spirit in the bar. Had a drink and a good talk. Looked at the new menu and not only was it interesting but the prices are very attractive. My wife is mostly vegetarian and ordered a customized dish that she loved. I got the surf-and-turf which at less than $30 was a real good deal. The rib eye was tasty and perfectly cooked and the big shrimps was as good. And then chef Mike came by to check out things! That has never happened before and for us it is a good sign that we have a great person on board! As the local, very talented band opened up it turned into a great evening and we had a blast. Such a great evening. I give it a 5 star! The food is not Michelin class but the overall experience was great. Came here for lunch with my husband and my mother-in-law. Walked up to the counter to be seated and was ignored for a fat minute with two servers standing there. Finally one server acknowledges us with the rudest attitude imaginable. Tells us that we have 10 minutes to order because they are closing soon. We were unaware of their hours, but there were a few other diners behind us waiting to be seated by a non bitchy waitress. We ordered quickly, however, we waited eons for our server to bring our drinks, and bring our bill. She acted as if we were a burden when bringing drinks and we asked for straws, that she actually had in her apron. She even took it upon herself to keep the change after my MIL paid with cash. Came for the homemade sausage gravy after a night of stargazing at Mt Pinos. A local recommended the PMC area, so my boyfriend and I stopped by for breakfast on our way home. Only 20 min fun drive from McGill campground. Very beautiful area and patio views! Very friendly staff! The sausage what's everything I hoped for (and not super salty) and went beautifully with their fresh biscuits, corned beef, and chicken-fried steak. They're a small shop with a small staff, so there's a little wait for t he food, but definitely worth it! I'll be back next time I'm in the area. read more

It was served with lots of nice toppings, but the warning is that they overcook the burgers. Husband ordered the soup of the day and half sandwich. Nice chicken bacon avocado club sandwich on grilled sourdough. Thought grilling time could have been a bit longer but everything else with this loaded club was great. This place is one of the few restaurants in the Pine Mountain Club area. While it tries to keep an upscale appearance, the whole experience seems to just fall short. The dining room is stale and looks like they are someone's living room and decorated sparsely with a few dull pictures and overly white walls. Located in the center of a charming mountain village, this place lacks character, charm and charisma. Their menu is somewhat limited and their food was overpriced and honestly just mediocre. I had the Halibut filet and while it was good, it was also a bit dry. I tasted a few other people's dishes and they too were just not up to the quality of the price point. My baby cousin got the Mac N' Cheese and it was Kraft and cost more than a box would at the grocery store. The service was sub-par and the food took a long time too. All in all, considering the other options around town, it could be ok but if you actually take it for what it's worth, it's not worth your time or your money. read more

Breakfast, what a concept. You wanna eat bread? You got it. Fruit? Sure. Meat? Why not! Bistro on the Greens has it all with good service and a flexible menu. Typical American fare for a typical American appetite. It probably won't blow your mind, but it'll satisfy your hankering for a good breakfast. Helped myself to a custom 3-egg omelette with avocado, swiss, mushrooms, and peppers (I could have added even more, toppings are unlimited!) and it even came with potatoes and toast. But! Pancakes were my second choice and when the waitress heard that she offered to switch out my toast for no extra charge! Wow. My two fellow breakfasters enjoyed The Smokehouse breakfast (eggs to order, meat, biscuits & gravy) and another solid omelette with a side of fruit. Our socks weren't knocked off, but we were happy campers to the last bite and our wallets felt good too. Going up to the mountains a few times every year for the past 6 years, this place has had more GM's, Mangers, Chefs, Cooks whatever than any place I know. Food has been inconsistent as has the service. Burger meat is really good but the Fries and other items seem to change every time I am there. Not sure why french fries would change or the pastrami that I have had a few times. But who knows. Seems lately (last time I was there was a few weeks ago) that there is chaos. Was at a table for breakfast when some bald guy, acting all nervous and shaking was speaking negativley and harsely one of the staff. I could not hear everything but if you want to chastise an employee do it in private. Made me nervous and who ever the bald guy is, he needs to go or learn manners. read more

With bake potato, all the fixings. Three ordered fish n chips the other ordered a burger, they served 1 fish n chip and ribs dinner it came without fixing for potato, took my wife after 15 min. I enjoy this restaurant in the mountains. When I come up from L.A. I expect things to be different quieter, sweeter and more civil. The Bistro is that to me with great food and ambiance for me along with my guests. The views over the golf course are phenomenal. The entrees are delicious. And, if there has been any problem with the preparation of the food, (though there hasn't been with us) the management has taken great pains to rectify the situation. the menu is prepared fresh each day with good ingredients carefully prepared. the soups, salads and entrees are excellent and the desserts are, yto quote my wife, 'sinful'. I've been to the Bistro many times and of course have my favorite dishes. You really have to try this place. I ate at this so called restaurant last night. First it took 30 minutes to get rolls. Then it actually took an hour for the food to arrive. I ordered Chicken Caesar salad and if I did not remember what I ordered, I would never had guessed it was a Caesar Salad. The taste did not even slightly resemble any other Caesar Salad I ever ate before. Who serves Caesar Salad with tomatoes? The decor is OK but the service and food need tremendous improvement. I really don't agree with the previous Yelpers. I think the prices are great and the food is always delicious! I have recently gone to a couple of events and the food and service was great! They had a dinner theatre that was so much fun and a wine pairing dinner which was wonderful! I bought my friends and we all agreed we would do it again!
