And once again we're in another Target. Once again we stopped in to pick up some food and went exploring a bit in the store. We found some interesting items and toys and managed to find foods we've never seen before. I would say it turned out to be a successful shopping trip. Coming from Miami after 5 weeks of cruises, a Target seemed to be a good place to replenish some travel supplies while visiting in Chicago, before heading home. This location was closest to our destination, so figured to kill a little time. The signage on this store still says Super Target, and it does have a full grocery store. My wife has been trying mushroom coffee, and swears it's helping to clear her occasional brain 'fog', so picked up a bag. All I wanted were some laundry detergent sheets, but this store didn't carry. We though maybe it would be in the travel size section, but no luck. Tons of registers, with no wait. The cashier was friendly and chatty, asking about the coffee we were buying. My wife took the opportunity to share her thoughts about it, and just might have found another prospective believer. I still remember when Target, Target Greatland, and Super Target were all branding distinctions of Minneapolis based retailer, with the 'Super' having a full grocery store. Target has moved away from these distinctions, just relying on 'Target' branding for their newest stores. Looks like this one just hasn't been rebranded yet. read more

This location has been very frustrating to deal with. I attempted to call over 20 times and reached out to multiple departments, but no one answered the phone. I live about 20 minutes away and simply wanted to confirm an item before making the drive back to the store. Unfortunately, without being able to reach anyone, it made the situation very inconvenient. I hope management can address this issue to improve customer service and communication. read more

You can't judge a book by its cover, my appearance wasn't good on a Sunday morning but little do they know they were profiling an engineer that probably makes 10x more of their salary. Whoa. At several points in my trip to this Target today I forgot that I was at a Target, as there are aisles and aisles of poshly stocked shelves- loads of organic items and brands I typically have to visit Whole Foods to get, like the nitrite-free organic meats in the deli- and at a much better price. Noosa yogurts, too. A good quarter per item cheaper than my usual Jewel. There were staffers everywhere, stocking and restocking, very nice and helpful, asked if I needed anything. Friendly checker, too. Every thing that I needed was in stock as well as a boatload of Halloween decorations that I didn't truly need, but there you go. It's Target. It's hard to get out without dropping extra cash on cute/spooky stuff you really don't need. Great store. I'll come here more often. read more

First I like coming here cuz it's big but the customer service is really poor. Threw walking in no one's greeted you good morning or nothing. Workers always living stuff everywhere on floor while working and covering the lanes to pass thru. Also while shopping by baby clothes I saw a lady worker and no help no greeting or nothing. Then one lady worker, almost run me over with some cart she was pushing not even letting me know she's coming towards my way. Then also went to the mens washroom and totally smell the sink was so dirty and water everywhere on floor just nasty. Then at the register the Hispanic lady help out great and even was communicating wry well. 5 points for her. Will return to this place. I've decided to give this Target an extra star simply because I love using their pharmacy. It's not open 24/7, but the customer service is exceptional. Today Tracy was multi-tasking like nobodies business. Although she appeared to be running solo, she managed to be courteous and extremely efficient. The staff at this Target pharmacy are always great. This is my first choice for local retail pharmacies. This phamacy at this Target allows this 3-star store to be a 4-star store. read more

This is about my third time going in this Target. I think it's too big... Perhaps this is why the cashier spoke so loudly to her fellow cashiers and other customers, (they all seemed to be having a grand time). However, her entire demeanor changed when it was my turn for service. She was curt and just on the edge of rude. I smiled. She did not. I greeted her, she barely responded. Perhaps, she thought I was someone else that she didn't like, but really; since when did recognition become a criteria for good, poor or bad service. Additionally, when did dressing modestly become optional? And showing off ones tattoo become acceptable - no matter where it is on ones chest? My friends and children have said I can not hide my thoughts, because I am expressive. Hence, I do not play poker. So, maybe it was my raised brow and pursed lips that was a dead give away for my shock at the behavior and appearance of this brusque, hefty and well endowed cashier. Respect was lacking for me and for her, because how can one give respect, when it seems apparent that you're lacking it for yourself. It's sad. I'm beginning to think I should settle myself down at my art table and just work on that metal series that I've had in the back of my head, (I've been painting on found metal)... Is the store clean. Yes. Are the prices ok. Yes. Can you find what you're looking for? Kind of - The layout is not like the other Target stores I've been to, (because it's too big) and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of customers - which is nice if you don't like crowds, however, probably not too good for profits. Store review: This was a interesting find as I have seen this Target many times driving on 290. The parking lot itself i huge as well as the store. It is well stocked and when I came to check out the post holiday items there was a lot of items left that could be bought at a very good price. This is also a super target so they have a large produce section as well. My only issue with this location is the staff. They again have a very distinct attitude i.e. why are you bothering me when you try to return items or ask for help which is typical of the stores in this area. So you are mostly on your own. I am so glad that this Super Target is finally open. Target really does have some really good food items and their fresh case has inexpensive lunch offerings that you should stock up on if you pack for the office! Two mini ham and cheese on a bagel are only $1.99. A pack of veggies with garden hummus, $1.49. I also love that this place has the new design carts and baskets- so cute - they lok like Michael Graves did the design? I went on Earth Day and got a free reusable bag (and was in a regular Target earlier that day and didn't get one!) with my purchases. I will definitely be forgoing the messy and crowded Target in the Bricktown Mall for this one - even if it gets crowded, the food options and the cleanliness are worth the haul! read more

I love me some Target! You go in for one thing and come out spending $300! Today was different though. They have 20 registers plus 8 self serve registers. Not ONE regular register was open and all eight self serve registers were in use with at least 15 -20 people in line bitching about it! When I walked to the front of the store to see if they could open a register there were at the very least 6 employees standing around. The manager informed me there was nothing they could do! If I didn't need the one thing I came for I would have left my whole cart! Total BS! read more

OH. EMM. GEE. This Target is fabulous! Everything you could possibly need is right inside! Enter on the south side of the store - you'll be glad you did. The grocery section is phenomenal. I've never been to a Super Target before, so I was doubly impressed with all of the fresh goodies to be had right inside a Target! Let's review the grocery section: + Fresh Produce (including organics!) + Deli Counter + Fresh meat + Seafood + Huge selection of aisle items ++ Tons of Target brand food (get the hummus trio!) + Lots of low fat/fat free items Let's review the rest: + Super organized + Extra clean - Kind of weird layout + Really, really friendly employees (someone actually came up to me and offered help!) + More merchandise than a standard Target ++ New bulk section in the back! (I think all Targets have this) The parking lot is huge and there's a lot to do in this little strip mall so you can get all your shopping done in one trip. How is it possible for a shiny new store to suck so much?! I had high hopes that his Target would be great, but frankly I'd rather shop at the Broadview Target, or at another store altogether. On my trip today one of the vegetables I needed was offered in two varieties, dried out or mushy and brown. They are regularly out of items on my shopping list, and the shelves often have huge empty spaces where product should be. As a result I have to go to a second store, leaving me wondering why I shop here in the first place. The staff that hangs out over by the fitting rooms are more interested in talking then getting the carts full of items to be restocked out of the way. The woman that checked out my groceries on my most recent trip wearing was a dirty, crusty shirt. Seriously, I'm not exaggerating. She was very unfriendly and couldn't seem to figure out that more than 3-5 items could be put in one bag. She crammed bread in next to bananas, leaving me with half a loaf of smashed bread. She rolled up a shirt I bought and shoved it in next to some other items. Seriously, I'm sorry if you hate your job, maybe you should just be glad you have one. I also don't understand why they didn't fix the parking lot before they paved it. It's on a pretty good slant and can be difficult to keep your cart from rolling away while you're loading your groceries, especially if it's raining or icy. Pretty much the only good thing I can say about this store, is when the built it they used some good energy efficient ideas such as motion detectors to turn on the lights in the freezers. I have had 20 good months of working down the street from this Target and going to it at least 2-3 times a week to think about it and review. From a food standpoint, it is ok. I do a lot of my grocery shopping here because I live in the city and am not ready to fall victim to Jewel and Dominick's on a regular basis. The food selection is ok, it is getting better as far as variety is concerned. Their generic brands are great and well priced. The clothing and shoes are "meh" I consider this to be "My Target" as I go there so often, but that doesn't mean it can't improve. At the lunch hour, the lines are long and they should really open more cash registers from between 11 and 2. I've spent a half hour just waiting to check out before. This was probably my most enjoyable Chicago-land Target experience in a long time. I have had wonderful experiences with Targets in Saint Louis and in Lawrence, KS - my first experience with a Super Target, so what's not to love - but my Target experiences around the Oak Park area have been pretty much meh. This Target on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm = friendly staff, empty aisles, and stocked product. Not once did I get annoyed with other people in the store for stopping in front of me with their carts or for unnecessarily rude customer service. I will continue to visit this Target in the future. If only they would start carrying the Twizzler 'long' nibs like my Target does, I would be hooked. read more

I love this Target. It's my "go to" Target store. My daughter loves going there as well, but then again, loves shopping. This is a typical Super Target. But for some reason seems MORE spacious. Maybe I like it because it's new? BUT it DOES seem to have EVERYTHING. I can never walk out of there without spending $100+. How does that always happen? Fresh Produce, Bakery & yummy artisan breads. Deli, Meats, Seafood, Dairy, international foods, etc Clothing, electronics, home, books, toys, pharmacy, card & party, I SWEAR.. EVERYTHING! ooo and Bulk items too! That's a nice touch I haven't seen. Ppl were nice. nothing out of the ordinary though. Parking is never and issue. Carts are always available. I also like the Starbucks and fast food options, just in case... Caffeine is good for me when shopping! Pricing is good. BUT I wouldn't buy my groceries here. Maybe if I needed something and I was there, but not as my main grocery store. Prices are decent but I like the "latin / asian marts" better. After seemingly repeated/endless visits to the Target on Elston in Chicago, was a bit taken back by how massive this Super Target was. It just recently opened up in a newly developed mall area off 290 and LaGrange...the property looks to be fully developed but there are several more stores due to join the already 6-8 stores and restaurants that are now open, including a sizable Staples. This ST has pretty much everything under the sun you'd want on the household front and prices on a lot of the items (including food) were noticeably cheaper than the one off Elston. It's unquestionably the cleanest Target i've ever been to, absolutely spotless. read more

I have been going here for awhile. They have all of your grocery needs and fun stuff when you want a little extra. Here is my main problem with the place. I always, always, always bring my own reusable bags when I shop. They do not understand the concept of a reusable bag. I use an extra large insulated one so that I can fit everything in it. Most days, I want to yell "STOP! I will bag it myself!" They just don't understand the concept of utilising space. Oh and one of the check out dudes is either stoned all the time or mentally challenged. read more

Big ass Target also housing a supermarket. Never seems to be too crowded either - that may be because I live near the busiest, craziest Target (the one on Elston and Logan Blvd). Compared to that insanity, this place is paradise. Parking lot is big, so far no fighting for spots (unlike my local Target). Lots of staff keeping everything clean (ok, they aren't all so helpful or friendly) One of the produce people was really nice, and surprised me by asking me if I needed help (is this a neighborhood grocery store?!) I'm basically in love with the fact that I can always get parking, it's right off the expressway, it's clean, and I can choose between a $15 bottle of schmancy almond butter, or $3 Jiff peanut butter. I'm not usually in the area here, but would not hesitate to stop again if I was. I'm trying to prepare myself to do a 'clean eating challenge' which requires lots of natural more 'trendy' food items, like quinoa, almond butter, figs, almonds, etc. I had found almond butter elsewhere at the jaw-dropping price of $12 for a jar. I was impressed to find all the items I was looking for at a more reasonable price. Target even has its own natural/organic line- Simply Balanced, so I got the butter for $7! I felt the prices for the items were reasonable and it's saving me a trip to whole foods, so I'm super happy! Also, props to the nice, helpful staff. The bag of quinoa that I purchased I noted was spilling out on the conveyor belt. They continued processing my order and had another member get me a new bag. I was so happy I wasn't "that girl" who slowed up the line! That's a huge stressor to be that person. I was a huge fan of that Target, and am a bigger fan of targets overall after that experience. read more

Bigger isn't always better. I don't feel like it's that super to be honest. Yeah its gigantic, that just means I have to walk twice as far to see the exact same thing in a normal target. That sounds lazy so hear me out, I'm not saying that walking is an inconvenience to me, I just hardly think it's size makes it super. We have groceries in our plain old target and I didn't see any new products exclusive to its super big sister. I love target, and unlike the other reviews, nothing I needed was out of stock. I love Target! This was my 2nd visit to this location. I've never been to a Super Target. I was underwhelmed and most things were GONE! The associates seemed so busy with work and never really focused on the customers. They were just so involved with other stuff. The service was fair- both times. There was two ladies at the customer service desk and the older one seemed fairly new. The younger, more experienced one was not involved at all. She barely wanted to assist the older woman or me ultimately. My 2nd visit, I was returning an outfit that was too small. The only small I did find was unappealing on me. LOL! I waited 8 minutes before I asked the young lady standing behind me to assist - she continue for 3 minutes and came to assist me. My overall transaction took less than 3 minutes - once assisted. The store was very nice! I did she some noticeable different products. There was a lot of mugs and tumblers, which I love. The selection of clothes were not offered in smaller sizes. Unless, the smalls go fast! I did like the clearance section. It was plentiful and well organized. Customer service is so important and I've been impressed with Target - time after time. This was one of the first times I've been displeased with one of my favorite stores! read more
