Yet, I know those needles all over the floor can be a huge pita..I like to think of it as a once a year pita. Make sure you hydrate your tree daily because they get thirsty too. Tree lots seem far and few between these days. Sure you can hit the big box stores; nothing wrong with that. But, you won't get the same selection and maybe not the freshest tree either..two of the biggest perks for stopping here. Lot is well lit and spacious. They have an indoor tent as well. This local business is formerly known as L&M Tree Farm out of Roselle by Murphy Farms of Itasca. They just moved to this location this year and it's much larger than the previous lot. Tree selection is stellar and there's no comparison to those chains. And, yeah it does come with a price tag, but you're also paying for the best selection and quality. Bill runs the place. Nice guy and offers a LARGE & beautiful assortment of fresh Michigan trees, including some wreaths and garland. Choose from Balsam, Douglas, Fraser firs and a variety of Pines and Spruce. From tiny to tall - they cut, wrap and load on your vehicle. Just a friendly place to stop in. Prices are competitive with other tree lots. A 7 ft. Balsam fir runs around $53, but you might be able to negotiate a little, we did last year. This year, I think Bill's wife was feelin a little 'scroogish' and didn't budge too much other than give us 10% off due to postcards they sent out notifying of their new location. (Bill's nicer at knocking off monies, fyi). Just tell them you got a postcard in the mail. They also charge sales tax (7%) so that 10% discount basically covers this. I don't know why they charge tax tbh...so yeah, support local businesses and bring Bill some holiday cookies!

I have since probably purchased over 20 Jellycats from here, it's my favorite way to do so because I love supporting a local business and this shop is genuinely just the best. Outside of Jellycats, I've gotten Hello Kitty Blue Sky Ceramics, an Allen designs clock, Christmas ornaments, a lazy Susan, and baby gifts. Although I don't live in the area, anytime I'm out towards Oak Brook I ALWAYS make sure to stop by Fairytales to see what's new. Unfortunately due to the immense popularity of Jellycats, their stock has declined significantly which is a bit of a bummer, but it seems to be out of their control from my understanding. Everyone I've interacted with here has been incredibly sweet, I've done waitlist orders (I was able to get the large snow dragon jellycat this was as well as some of the rare Christmas ornaments!), and I've done a few online pickup orders as well. Each time my items are packaged beautifully and I feel so special walking out with the super high quality, beautifully branded Fairytales bag. Downtown Lombard truly has a gem, if it was closer to me I'd frequent a lot more, but it just makes my trips even more special when I do get to stop by.

It wasn't a small tear either, its entire head came off. Honestly it was quite the massacre (photo below). So, I called them to see if I could get a replacement, or at least store credit because frankly it was quite expensive ($100 for the large size). Anyways, they said there was nothing they could do because the return period of THREE DAYS had passed, which is ridiculous because who is ever returning something within three days of purchasing?? Also, I wasn't even trying to return it, I was trying to get compensation for my poor alpaca. It makes me wonder what they would've done if it broke four days after purchase?? Just tell me "sorry, sucks to suck" after losing $100? Now, I understand that it may have been too hopeful to want a full replacement since a month had gone by, however I don't think it's unreasonable to expect store credit or a coupon or something. But no, they couldn't even offer that. I know that it's a small business so they aren't able to take the hit as much as a big corporation would but seriously, if you're charging $100 for a plushy and it breaks less than two months after purchasing, you should be able to offer some sort of compensation. I miss my alpaca but unfortunately, as a poor college student, I can't afford to scalp out another $100 to replace it. Usually I don't take the time to write reviews, but I'm so upset that my alpaca is gone and the poor customer service that I have just experienced that I felt it necessary to warn future customers to be wary when spending a lot of money at this store.

It's large, and well organized and the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. The prices may be a bit high, but the selection and quality seem to also be very high. We definitely found everything we were looking for and more that we didn't know we were looking for. We were happy with everything we bought and did find some real deals. We will likely be using this as our main nursery going forward. It's nice to have everything you need in one place.

Well I tried to buy soil... $42 a yard you would think that I would get pulverized screened…read moresoil.... nope I got weeds, huge rocks and blocks of soil... see the pic... thats what I got... that huge piece of concrete is about 12" x 8"... omg.. thats right .. there was screening or pulverizing... I would go to another place for top soil... now the reason why I gave them a 2 was that I did speak to the manager and she gave me a half off discount on my next yard... but that soil was the same as the original... I know they were short on soil but then charge less and do not say it's pulverized.... thats shameful. !!!

Horrible experience with Breezy Hill. Had a landscaping project done last year by a professional…read morecontractor. Chose Breezy Hill for the perennials due to proximity to my home in Salem Lakes. Spent over $1,000 on a variety of rose bushes, shrubs, etc. Landscapers planted them, installed the weed barrier, and landscaping stones as is customary last July. Everything looked great and I was a happy camper for a few months. 2026 rolls around, and nearly half the perennials that we purchased were completely dead. They did not survive the winter. I took pictures, emailed Pam at Breezy Hill to see what they could do. Here is her response: Hi Mike, Thanks for sending these pictures. As you know we do not warranty cash & carry items and actually never warranted Perennials at all. We are confident they are healthy when they leave our care since we are all gardeners here, but overwintering is our biggest challenge with our very volatile and extreme temperature fluctuations. The way to ensure best results for this is to remove all stone from their vicinity and mulch instead, which moderates and insulates temperature and moisture for our plants, much as would occur in nature with plant debris forming the mulch layer. Stone does the opposite of this causing even worse fluctuations while also cutting off oxygen and sometimes water to the roots. If there is landscape fabric under the stone that should also be removed since that makes even worse conditions for the plants, e.g. no oxygen or water to the roots, sours and compacts the soil. I'm here to help with more suggestions any time today, July 4 until 7:00, July 5 10-4:00, July 6 after about 2:00-7, July 7 9-6. I know he wasn't just saying that because he cooed over my baby and specifically remarked about the fact that she was awake this time instead of sleeping through the shopping trip (which was true). This is what makes shopping at local businesses so much fun; you get to established a rapport with someone who lives what they do, lives their neighbors, and wants to make sure that you enjoy shopping with them. Again as I came through I thought about how I wish I could hire an interior designer with Kenneth Ludwig on the shortlist. They didn't disappoint with their Christmas decor. They have lots of ornaments, all beautiful, and other holiday items. I REALLY love the stocking holders they have. They look like those old ceramic Christmas trees that lots of our grandmothers had, and it even lights up. I am almost certainly going to be returning before Christmas to pick up a couple. He's so knowledgeable about furniture and design, not pushy at all, and patient. I've been in his store a few times and each experience was great. I did end up purchasing a settee from Kenneth and that was about 1.5 years ago. The buying process was simple. The small couch is still in great shape, easy to clean, and looks great in my house. It was on the pricier side of furniture, but I not a shocking price. I will consider going back to Kennth Ludwig Chicago when purchasing my next nice piece of furniture.

Amazing response after August's derecho in New Lenox. Our prize 45+ year old massive linden tree…read morewas twisted by the wind and the trunk was split in half. At risk of falling on the house in the next storm, and unable to be climbed due to the precarious nature of the damage, Homer Tree showed up with 4 trucks and a master crew who used a crane and bucket truck to safely saw through the trunk and lift the entire canopy out in two enormous sections, which went right into the chipper. They cut out the rest of the trunk, ground down the stump and the last guy on site used a rake to pick up every last stick and leaf. 45 minutes of extraordinary professionalism. These guys know their stuff. We were extremely sad to lose our amazing, beloved tree but glad we didn't have to worry about or home or property being damaged by inexpert removal. And we were very pleased with the pricing and response time, especially after a disastrous weather event. We heard some outrageous price-gouging quotes. Good to know the local guys are there for the community.

I completely understand that weather and storms can cause delays, especially with the number of storms we've had recently. However, the bigger issue has been the lack of communication. I never received any updates and had to repeatedly reach out myself for information. The office staff has been difficult to deal with and often comes across as dismissive. When I called today for an update, I was told the pruning was being looked at to be scheduled in October. I questioned the timing and decided to cancel. The tree has already started to shed since fall is around the corner. I want to be fair because I understand that weather related emergencies can and should take priority. My frustration is that there has been zero proactive communication throughout this process. These services aren't inexpensive, and as a customer, I shouldn't have to repeatedly call just to find out what is happening with a service I contracted and paid for months ago. Kayli was amazing and was very apologetic and helpful when I was able to communicate with her via email. Unfortunately, the office staff who answers the main line really tarnishes the overall experience with the company.
