Actually 2.5 stars. I love Target. BUT...this store just doesn't cut it. It's often dirty, unorganized, super crowded, and the staff is hit or miss. Edgewater is better and Clifton is great. The plus at this location is only 3.5% sales tax. And anything is better than Walmart. read more

Don't get me wrong here. I love everything about targets products and I go here often. But it never fails that only one or two registers are open. At 6 o'clock I the evening. When everyone gets off of work. It a test in patience every time but at least the people working are friendly. read more

Really not my favorite Target, but I live on the border of Bergen and Hudson county so I do go here from time to time when my favorite Target in Edgewater is closed. Pros: 1) usually has a better selection than other Targets - if something is sold out at teh Edgewater store, this store will likely have it. 2) prices are reasonable 3) staff are pretty nice - hard working, honest people. Never really had any complaints (except when we put a couple items on the $1 spot racks - still in cart - while going to the bathroom before checking out - three minutes in the bathroom and the carts were moved and emptied for restocking in a flash ... I guess that was their job, but why soooo fast? those shelves are right near the bathrooms and you can't bring merchandise into the restrooms, so why not wait 5 minutes and see if someone reclaims the items??) Cons: 1) some of the people (by no means all!) who go to this store are not of the best demographic. Even the town police told me this when I had to call them after someone backed into my car (hard!) and caused $800 damage to my back bumper and then sped away. I guess this could happen anywhere but the North Bergen Police offer called to the scene said stuff like this happens all the time there. So be aware .... I always park as far away as possible to minimize my chances of another $800 repair bill. 2) So sad to say this but given their fiasco with data being hacked I worry about shopping there now. I've still been going, but it's worrisome. I tried to call to speak with someone a couple days after the announcement and they were not answering their phone. If I did get far enough to get placed in a hold queue, I'd get disconnected after 15 minutes on hold. I was really disappointed with how they handled this and hope that my bank account doesn't get drained as a result of it. Really really scary stuff and so disappointing as I grew up with Target Stores in St. Louis ... used to LOVE Target. 3) Traffic on Tonnelle Avenue can be a nightmare, especially on weekends. Overall, this will do in a pinch if I really need something they sell. It beats Walmart for most things ... parking is insane at Walmart, but I'd rather shop in just about any other Target Store rather than this one. read more

Terrible customer service and disrespect by one of their supervisors by the name of Jeremmy. I was truly disappointed by the client support we had. Supervisor Jeremmy was extremely rude and disrespectful!! He didn't explain policy it in a respectful manner. He started to make faces when I asked the reason. I just wanted a valid explanation without an attitude. Hopefully corporate cares to review this and make some changes. People like this guy are unhappy with their job and are just bad for business. read more

Just want to let you all know... Don't ever be late in paying your RED credit card! I owed Target $1.96 for not even 1 month and my card was suspended!!! So I used my AMEX card and closed my Target account! Also, however NOT verified no one at Target works 40 hours or more.. As at 4 or more the company has to pay for health insurance and other benefits!! UNVERIFIED!! As of today!! read more

for me, this is a great location, "on the way" to alot of things. the restrooms are always clean. the Starbucks inside is great, though always busy. the parking lot is very messy. items are usually in stock, and employees are pleasant. read more

This Target gets really crowded on the weekends, especially in Sunday. It's the only one in the area. The other one is closed on Sundays. But they do a great job getting everyone out. Cashiers are a plenty. They even have a food section. So now you can pick up your soap, deodorant, bread, milk and eggs. Oh and don't forget prescriptions. They have the best pharmacy around. Super nice staff. Parking is a plenty. It's clean. Organized. They have almost everything. read more

This place is friendlier and less crowded than Walmart. When I ask for help the employees actually respond to me. I come here over Walmart anytime. If you can make a choice come here over Walmart. The people are much friendlier. read more

1 star for being neat 1 star for having what I needed. I walked in on 12/26 (night) to get a carrying case for my Nintendo NES, target online said this location had 4 in stock. I looked around for 10 mins &couldn't find it, so I asked a young woman behind the electronics help desk (that has a huge saying saying "we can help" or something along those lines), before I even said what I needed she looked bothered & was shaking her head "no". I still explained & she spoke over me saying "no no no they sell out by 6am before the stores even open once the NES drops they're sold out" I then specifically mentioned I don't need the console just the carrying case and she said "nope everything sells out together" (struck me as odd) I got back in my car...and then said let me just ask customer service . So I went back in and got the same response. She was even younger but wasn't rude . She said we should have them then I said I can't find them she said to ask the person behind the counter in that department I told her online said they have 4 and that the other woman wasn't helpful . She said online isn't accurate and super slow to update that might be from last month and that they sold out that same MORNING . today it still said they had 4 so I came back. A different much older woman was helping some people activate a cell phone for about 20 mins I then interjected & just stated what I was looking for she said no I stated again I only need the carrying case she then said "oh check a few aisles down I would leave after I'm done with them but I have phones out and it's a safety issue" whatever that means ! I then stopped two young girls who said they weren't familiar with what I was looking for but could help, they called RAFAEL on there walki talki and he brought me to a glass case where low and behold 4 carrying cases lie there in all their glory. Target - My NES case that was oh so hard to find even though they had 4 in stock. - Department Stores Near Me - North Bergen, New Jersey

I have always been a fan of Target stores, but this location has been such a disappointment my last two visits. I was there about a month ago buying shoes for a holiday party and the closing cashier and manager on duty were both super rude. I wanted to buy a pair of shoes that turned out to be scuffed on the heel and when I asked for assistance finding a new pair the closing cashier told me no one could help me because they were closing. I asked to speak to a manager who proceeded to tell me it was the last pair and when I went to go check myself I found an identical pair in the same size. I purchased the shoes but needless to say I was disappointed. I received a gift card after Christmas to their store and decided to go back to the same location hoping to have a better experience. I went with with a good friend of mine who has a service dog for mental illness and upon entering the cashier basically chased us down to tell us we were not allowed inside. After explaining he was her service animal he told her she did not look disabled and proceeded to harass us and make accusing statements. He was rude and asked a lot of prying questions about my friends disability and made us both feel very uncomfortable. We asked to speak to a manager who allowed us to proceed, but I find myself highly disturbed that this is how Target allows their employees to treat their customers. Not all disabilities are physical and I really hope this was a lesson learned for them. read more

Have been shopping at North Bergen Target since it opened because it is close to my home. But in the last few months it has been a nitemare to shop there. I now go to Edgewater store which is 100 per cent better. Some of the workers in the North Bergen store do not understand English so are unable to help me when I cannot find something. You have to always look at the food expiration dates because a lot should not be on shelfs. They are always stocking shelves with large pallets blocking the aisles so you cannot fit your cart down them it is very annoying. So my advice is go to the Edgewater store a very pleasurable experience. read more
