Things are laid out very well here, so it's really fun to look around at the different items and styles! Things are easily organized by type of products you are looking for, and there's plenty of room to walk around looking, and see all angles of the items for sale. This store, just like Nebraska furniture Mart has FAR too many employees. You can tell they are all commission based. Every time I walk around, between five and 10 employees ask me if I'm finding everything all right. This isn't the worst thing that can happen while you're shopping, but in my opinion, it does get a little annoying, and concerning to see how many employees are without customers to help. Overall, I love coming here for inspiration! I am very picky on the items I buy, so have yet to find something I actually purchased in the store, but hope to someday as the price point is reasonable.

The value depends on the person, the pieces are not necessarily cheap, they are reasonably priced. Anywhere from $400-1900 for a couch.

I LOVE that they are dog friendly, and I could bring along my lil dood after visiting Three Dog Bakery down the street. The staff member working that day was friendly, obviously loved dogs, and was eager to answer any questions I had about the store or the items inside. They have plenty of furniture (mostly living room/dining room), home decor, and also "knick knacks" which I would categorize as things like stationary, cards, coffee table items, mason jar sippy cups etc. They also have a small catus/succulent/air plant station where you can purchase plants and make your own design piece ala carte. I thought that was really cute, and purchased a few plants to replaces some dying ones in my home. Overall, this store has a very urban, city, "ikea" feel, and I am totally digging it. I do think the price tags for the furniture would make some modest Omaha dwellers cringe, but those who love interior decor as I do will find this place as fascinating as a kid in a candy shop.

While the products are amazing, it has been really hard for me to purchase things here due to their relatively high price points. However, supporting local creatives definitely adds value to the pieces sold here. Also, if you park at the midtown parking garages, you can validate your parking ticket in this store!

Let's get this out of the way first: it's a little out of the way. You gotta go down a side street…read moreyou've probably never taken before, then you've got to go around to the back of the building. But it's worth looking for, as you'll probably find something you didn't know you were looking for. What sets Among Other Things apart from all the other shops selling vintage and consignment stuff for the home is that their collection is well-curated. You won't find cheap craft crap; you'll find cool stuff from throughout the last, oh, 120 years or so. Any of it would look good in a well-appointed home. And thank heavens, they haven't completely jumped on the mid-century trend as most other such places have. From chairs to rugs to cards, there's something here for anyone with good taste. (I picked up a fairly recent photography coffeetable book at a reasonable price.) There's also an adjoining women's vintage clothing store (unfortunately, nothing for guys). While the location might be a little tough to find at first, it's one to put on your radar. (And not far from NFM, so any time you're thinking of visiting them, stop by here, too.)

Especially when you can find comparable items at a thrift store. As a result some items have been there for quite some time. I love that she also carries some local artists' works. But again, overpriced for what they are. The store is quite crowded, I don't think a stroller could fit through some of the walking paths. I worry about bringing my big purse in. Overall, it's a fun place to peruse, but after many visits, I've yet to pull the trigger on buying anything.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but what I found was a fabulous selection of some of the highest quality furniture I have seen in Nebraska and top notch customer service. Don't go if you are in a rush. I was not looking for any other furniture, but spent longer than intended appreciating the variety of contemporary, mid-century modern, and traditional offerings for every room in the house. Lisa, the owner, has done an outstanding job making selections for the store, transforming Amish Furniture into a tasteful and sophisticated shopping experience with displays full of fun little extras--pillows, lamps/lighting, art, and more. My mom and I loved working with Traci. She was tremendously helpful answering all of our questions and was so personable that we immediately felt comfortable with her. She clearly enjoys her role helping people make well-informed furniture selections. We also appreciated the straight talk (i.e., warning) regarding the often extended ordering-to-arrival timeframe for some items. Traci explained that the vendors Amish Furniture uses recently had to scale back on custom orders simply because they have been unable to keep up with the demand for the uniquely superior-quality furniture they produce. Longer arrival times are not the result of furniture being manufactured overseas somewhere, as it is all made in the U.S.A.! My mom and I agreed that the quality was worth the wait. Don't expect Mrs. B's discount pricing or a rewards program. Prices are as marked whether you are buying $300, $3,000, or $30,000 worth of merchandise. When prices are slashed, it is all business, meaning Lisa is changing out the inventory and you happened to be there at the right time. I appreciated the clarity and professionalism of Lisa and Traci and thoroughly enjoyed the whole shopping process.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. SAVE YOUR MONEY, YOUR TIME, AND YOUR SANITY…read more This has been, without question, the worst retail experience we've ever had. On May 2, we spent nearly $7,000 on outdoor furniture, including swings, a dining table, benches, and chairs from their Elkhorn location. We were promised our table set would arrive by May 23. When that date came without a single phone call, email, or update, we had to drive to the store ourselves just to find out what was going on. We were told they were still waiting on part of our order. On June 15, they finally delivered the table set. It took about 30 seconds to realize we had not received the brand-new furniture we paid for. The furniture still had handwritten sales tags attached, and the table was damaged. Instead of delivering the new furniture we had ordered, they apparently decided it was acceptable to send us showroom pieces and hope we wouldn't notice. When we confronted the manager, Stacy, she wasn't apologetic in the slightest. Instead, she told us this was something they do regularly, by swapping merchandise with sister stores, while simultaneously claiming they don't have "floor models." She said they pulled the damaged table from the Grand Island location. We were promised the damaged table would be replaced with the new one we actually paid for once our swings arrived, and we were assured they would call us as soon as they came in. That promise was meaningless. The swings were supposed to arrive by June 22. Weeks passed with absolutely no communication. No phone call. No email. Nothing. If you want an update from this business, be prepared to chase them down yourself--assuming someone actually answers the phone, which is rare. When we finally got someone on the phone, we were told the swings had been sitting there for weeks. They simply never bothered to tell us. Even worse, they still didn't have the replacement table that should have been delivered over a month earlier. For a company willing to take $7,000 of your money, the complete lack of communication and customer service is astonishing. Once they have your payment, don't expect them to keep you informed or honor the timelines they promise. At that point, we no longer wanted the swings and requested a refund for merchandise we had never received. Instead of trying to make things right, they appear to have blocked my husband's phone number. He never yelled, threatened anyone, or was unprofessional. He simply asked for answers and requested a refund for products they failed to deliver. This business has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for its customers. They missed delivery dates, delivered damaged merchandise, failed to communicate, broke multiple promises, and then blocked a customer instead of resolving the problem. If you're considering spending thousands of dollars here, don't. There are plenty of furniture stores that actually value their customers after the sale. We deeply regret choosing this one.
