Literally texted me and gave me a 2.5 hour window to confirm my appointment. When i responded only 5 hours later to confirm my appointment was already cancelled. Shortest window to confirm i have ever encountered.

My visit scheduled three weeks prior was cancelled mere hours before due to their office staff not honoring their own email appointment confirmations. If they aren't valid for confirmation, why send them? It's quite clear that this practice is incredibly disorganized and I'd suggest thinking twice about trusting this place with your eyes when they can't even offer an adequate scheduling system. Attached is he email confirmation, dated two days before scheduled appointment time.

Dr. Irish takes his time to explain things to you. Recently my wife had an irritated cornea issue and Dr. Irish stayed late to help her. Absolute life saver. When I recently went in for my appointment, the whole staff was wearing California State University, Stanislaus, lightweight jackets. I asked why and a staff member told me that they wanted to support our local university. Class act on their part. They obviously care about being a good neighbor. I can't say enough about the good people at Monte Vista Optometry.

I originally had a great deal of confidence in this practice because of Dr. Irish. He was the only…read moredoctor who was able to properly diagnose an eye issue I was having after I had seen about three other doctors elsewhere who could not figure it out. When my insurance changed, I had to seek care at other offices, and none of them were able to give me the correct diagnosis. Dr. Irish eventually did, which is why I was very disappointed to learn that he is no longer with the practice. A year or two ago, while Dr. Irish was still the doctor here, I had an appointment and went through the entire process of having my glasses ordered. The technician collected my payment and told me the glasses would be ordered. I knew glasses could take some time, so I waited. After about a month without hearing anything, I finally called and found out that my prescription request had simply been forgotten. I ended up requesting a refund. More recently, I have been trying to get another exam scheduled. My original appointment was in February, but because of a family emergency, I had to reschedule. I eventually got an appointment with Dr. Irish several months later. Then, shortly before that appointment, I was contacted and told it needed to be rescheduled again, this time until the end of August. During that conversation, I was also informed that Dr. Irish was no longer with the practice and that there was a new doctor. I was surprised because I had not previously been told that Dr. Irish had left. I decided to keep the appointment because the practice already had my records and history, and after waiting so long, I did not want to start over somewhere else. Unfortunately, today I was contacted again and told that the new doctor has jury duty, so my appointment needs to be rescheduled once again. I completely understand that things happen, and I do not blame the new doctor for having jury duty. I also want to be very clear that I have no opinion about the new doctor because I have not even had the opportunity to meet them yet. My frustration is with the repeated rescheduling and the communication surrounding these changes. I sincerely hope the new doctor is wonderful. My disappointment is really with the overall experience. A prescription request was forgotten while Dr. Irish was still practicing there, I had to request a refund, my exam has now been rescheduled twice, and I have been trying to get this exam since February. I also only found out that the doctor I trusted was no longer there when I was already being contacted about rescheduling my appointment. Dr. Irish gave me a reason to have confidence in this practice. I just wish the communication and follow-through had given me the same confidence.

rip off...false advertising …read more............ we saw an advertisement on tv stating free eye exam and 2 pair of glasses for $79.00. we went into the store on countryside drive. i did the eye test and picked out 2 pair of glasses. i wanted one pair tinted and the other transcitional. they kept putting additional options on and by the time they were done the total came to $1,244.82. i told them that that was very extreme and that i have double coverage and they said oh we only take one of the insurances......then i stated that i was charged for the second pair and they said oh its only a per centage off. my co pay for the glasses was $ 532.00 out of pocket...i feel they should let you know before hand what is what,,,,, then my husband had an eye test and since he goes to a specialist for his diabetes they did a second test and then said they couldn't give him glasses he would have to go to the store at 3200 sisk road in modesto to have the doctor give him a special eye test. so all in all he had 3 eye tests and charged him $ 59.00. he learned from my experence to only order one pair and he had anti-glare and was charged $75.98 which was supposed to be free. his total came to $696.91 so his co pay was $232.99. i think this shop is a rip off and would never never recommend it to anyone..
