Giant Super Target, with pretty much everything under sun, sold together. We stopped by on a wet Friday. as we saw the giant sign from the road. It's been a very long time since we stopped in any Target, and the inside seemed pretty much unchanged. Super Targets have a full grocery (minus a bakery and full service butcher shop). We were looking for pet supplies....they have a lot around cats and dogs but nothing beyond that...so the visit I did see something that I've never seen before...somebody handing out free samples of food (two different types of Potato chips in this case) It was the lone sample display in the entire store, and of course there was no easy place to throw away the plastic cup after eating....simple souvenir I guess. read more

It's a bit of a mess in this Super Target (recovering from Black Friday I guess). I could not find any holiday tablecloths. A Target team member directed me to the area and I later found a few vinyl ones in the Magnolia section but they were too small. The store is pretty quiet now and I found the ginormous candy bars for my white elephant exchange! Lots of candy, feathery friends, so many gingerbread houses (even a Target one - how meta!), and plenty of ornaments, etc. read more

I was in the Vernon Hills area and came here to shop because we had some time to kill before going to the theater. My husband and I needed some grocery items and decided to do some shopping. The front entrance needs some attention. It is not clear where the road ends and the sidewalk begins as there is no curb in front of the Target. I saw someone drive over the sidewalk to get to the side parking lot. Some of those giant red balls that are used stop drivers from driving on the sidewalk are needed here. Fortunately there were no pedestrians in the area and no one was in danger of being harmed. The store is laid out in an organized fashion. I used the target mobile app to find a product I was looking for. The app was able to tell me which aisle it was located in. I went to that aisle and was able to find the product that I was looking for. We picked up the grocery items that we needed and then stopped by the Valentine's Day candy that was on sale and picked up some things that we didn't need. The checkout process went fairly smoothly and was pretty quick. As we left we witnessed some teens running down the front aisle. It appears that they were filming a Tik Tok. I recommend this Target. These this one really nice lady that is always so helpful at the self check lane. Last time I was at the VH location she gave my daughter some stickers. It's definitely the bigger Target I've been but I have to say they don't always have what I was looking for compared to the Wheeling location in some of the selections. Overall I can find what I was looking for. Prices are comparable to other locations. This Target is the most convenient for me. It's clean, spacious and friendly staff to help. read more

This Target isn't just any ole Target, it's a SUPER Target! It's about 2x the size of a regular Target meaning more aisles to roam through and get more things we didn't initially come in for. That being said, this is my go to Target. I can always count on this location to have in stock what I'm looking for, or even with more of a variety. The shelves seem to always be organized, and cleaned so that everything is in it's designated spot. The parking is always brightly lit and cleaned off with salt on the ground to make sure no one slips. The cart gentlemen help older folks put stuff in their car when they notice that help could be used. We go here so often the self check out folks remember us and ask us how our experience using something we have previously bought was, and made various recommendations for next time. The only reason it's not a 5 star experience is because the staff stocking shelves could not have been more rude or uninterested when you're asking for a location of something in the grocery side. I understand not knowing, or if you're in the middle of something but if you're in your phone, and we ask a simple question of they know what aisle something is in... there's no reason to tell us to find someone who works in the section as you're standing in the section. Perhaps she was having a rough day, nonetheless all other times we go to this Target we don't often interact with the staff to know whether or not they're all the same. All in all, still my favorite Target in the area, and I will keep coming back. :) read more

Is this the biggest target I've probably ever been to? yes. hands down. Is this the nicest target I've ever been to? eh.. I really don't think so. I've been to this target a handful of times because my local target hasn't had something in stock, but Vernon Hills had it. I will give them that, the sheer enormous size of this target definitely gives them that advantage. It feels so big that you almost get a little overwhelmed honestly. Their bakery and deli department really set this one apart from all the other local targets that I've been to. I recently used their drive up pickup service and.. wow do not come between 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Totally my mistake but every mini van & small SUV in the suburbs occupied the target parking lot at this time. I've never seen every drive up spot taken so I was super flustered trying to park. read more

I ordered my stuff online and it was easy peasy! It was ready the next day! The store was open at 7 am and got there at 8, the store was empty, not many customers and the store was very organized and very clean! I saw an employee spraying the shopping carts and they have wipes for you at the entrance! Things were easy to find! They are very limited on clorax wipes, they limit 1 per customer! An item I purchase regularly is listed for $11.39 on my app when on my husband's app is listed for $8.49. Same store is listed, same product, same size. Almost $4 difference depending on which app I use to purchase the item. It happened even if I changed the location to the wheeling one or other stores near by. How is this legal?? My favorite Target to visit in the North suburbs. One thing that really stands out about this location for me is the great selection of all products. This is both in terms of having a varied selection of all products, but also carrying some of the more rare upscale items in different categories (particularly food). The food selection is so good here in fact that it's really unnecessary to visit other local grocers like Heinen's, Whole Foods, or Mariano's if you don't have time. In addition to food, the selection of non-food products in great here. In particular, the beauty and home areas have more selection and more attractive displays than I've seen at other local stores. The holiday / seasonal area also seems to be bigger than other Targets I've seen. Parking is fairly easy here, with a huge lot (being located next to a Portillos is another big bonus). The store is kept very clean, never really too crowded, has well maintained shelves and displays, has reasonable checkout times, and is logically arranged to prevent lots of crowding and cross traffic. Overall, a great place to shop for both discount and upscale items. read more

Target has everything you need and want! All the products are well-designed and stylish, functional and economical. The store was clean, well arranged, and well lit. The employees were friendly and knew the answers to my questions. Employees are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you leave a satisfied customer they are all very nice people. The times I have gone to shop the staffs has been helpful and the store has been well stocked. I will always love Target. This location is pretty typical as far as other locations. I love this Target. This is the kind of Target where you go for a tube of toothpaste and a new toothbrush and spend an hour and a half just wandering the isles. Before you know it, you have a stuffed cart which includes new pillows for the couch and dinner. That's right, folks. This Target has a 'grocery store'. And while it won't really replace your grocery store, it's awesome for staples you need while buying other things. I would have given this Target five stars for being so awesome but I am taking away a star because, at the check out, be prepared that they might be filled with people who stuffed their cart with groceries. It just takes forever! At the grocery store, I get it. But it singes my hair when I'm getting a last-minute birthday gift I should have gotten last week (oh. And don't forget that cute top I grabbed off the shelf). They need the express isles open more often. read more

At this Vernon Hills Target, a picture is worth a hundred reviews. Once again, long lines and no carts at this store in the middle of the day. Why must it take the development of long lines to open registers? Because store management or lack there of is cheap. Why does store management allow the carts to empty out? This is so basic, someone should be pulling in carts throughout the day, not after they are all left in the parking lot and sides of the building. But wait, there are plenty of associates inside talking to each other doing nothing.... read more

I purchased gift cards at the Mundelein Target for my kids two days before Christmas to place in their stockings. On Christmas morning our kids opened their gifts and our youngest and oldest kids activated their Lulu cards as they wanted to make a purchase then--no problem. Our middle son tried activating his Apple Card and found it to already have been used and emptied. I called the store and was told to contact Apple customer service. They shirked responsibility and told me that since it was purchased at Target they were liable for rectifying the situation. I called each customer support number three more times, elevated (of course) to more senior people, of course. After being shit down this way, I went to the Lake Bluff, IL Target store as it was a convenient stop for me. I explained the scenario to the female Manager on duty and she gave me a Target Fraud email address that I'd need to contact and they'd be able to help me. No response after three attempts. When I called the store today, "Thomas"? Told me he spoke with everybody he could find and none (including the manager) knew of any such email address and told him to have me call customer service at Target again. I'm at the end my patience as my wife and I purchased these three gift cards at the check out inside Target yet they won't stand behind this $50 purchase. They don't know how to deal with fraud (despite their hefty fraud and theft insurance fees) or customer service. Buyer beware--Target will NEVER stand behind gift cards purchased at their stores. read more

Well done, Target! Haven't been inside a Target store for a year. Walked in today and was greeted by smiling employees wishing me good morning. Not pushy, just friendly. Extra kudos to Amanda and Sammi in the tech area. Amanda was very knowledgeable about phone chargers, cables and cases. She found exactly what I needed in record time! Unfortunately, this store did not have phone cases for the SG21. Amanda rung up my entire sale, including clothing and food, at her register saving me time in the front. This store seems to have been remodeled. It's bright, super clean and is part of a new merchandising campaign. The store looks great and displays can compete with higher priced retailers like Nieman Marcus...not kidding! read more

I like this location - it's a "Super" Target, so I stop here if I'm in Vernon Hills. It's nice, large, has the groceries, and a million checkout lanes of which I've NEVER seen more than 5 open. Why do they do that??? I don't know what else to write. Yay - it's Target. It's big. Yes I'd recommend it. Their prices seem fair. They're still more expensive than Jewel on some things - i.e. Pop. Jewel's always cheaper on that. But packaged goods etc seem to be cheaper at Target. I always come here for my household supplies / cleaners / etc.. Place is NUTS around the Holidays - stay away if at all possible. But I guess Vernon Hills in itself is nuts at the Holidays.... read more

This is a solid SuperTarget store in the area where you can get just about anything that you need. The grocery selection is good, the prices seem comparable to grocery prices in the area. I don't grocery shop here as often since Mariano's came into town, but I still shop by since it's on the way home and also to avoid the crowds at Mariano's. And it's far better than shopping at Dominick's, which is dingy, doesn't offer much and seems more expensive. You can get a lot of great things for the home at Target too and I always end up buying more that I came in for when I am here. read more

Typical target just bigger. High school to middle aged employees just working the retail chain. Right now the whole store is going through a reconstruction and layout change. It is extremely hard to find anything, especially compared to the old layout. They never seem to have enough staff in the checkout lanes on the weekends. read more

Today it took 30 minutes to check out. This is completely unacceptable, since there were 4 unused self-check out kiosks that weren't even open. The lines went all the way back to the grocery area. There was only one register open for those who did not want to use the self check out. When I asked a Target employee if they could open the other self check out they she said there is nobody to supervise that area and it was roped off. I went to speak to the manager, Nancy and was greeted by 3 Target employees sorting out returns. Why couldn't one or two of them operate the registers instead? There were many frustrated customers and this is the second time this has happened to me. Target you need to get it together because if you don't many of your costumers will shop at your competitor Walmart instead. read more

I've been to this location a million times over, and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. One word of advice I have... if you're used to your Highland Park and Glenview locations, don't come here tired or you'll get super turned around and overwhelmed. I made the mistake of coming here exhausted the other night, and I forgot the layout of the store is really different than my usual Target stops. After so long, I ended up sitting on the bench and told my hubby to take over. Not because that's a bad thing, but because like Jennifer H mentions, you'll find one thing and then another thing to put into your cart until you start having to put things back. This pace is loaded and there are so many goodies you just can't pass up! We started late this year in the school shopping ordeal, and they have a ton of sales going on right now. But, I will say they are a bit picked over in the size department. I have boys, and I honestly couldn't find much of anything in a medium, but what we did find were some cool Shawn White shirts on sale and 30% off on their shorts. So, get here now and snag some bargains. Hurry, because the long-sleeved shirts are moving in. As far as lunch bags for school, put your elbows to good use and prepare to elbow grabby parents out of way. There were two lunch bags left. Yikes! But we got 'em! Regardless, I love this stop... hence the 4-stars. If you had to pick one store to come to, this would be the one in my opinion. In case they don't have something you're looking for, you will no doubt find it across the street at Westfield mall, or the many other shops in the area. Must enter through the West entrance to take it all in. I marveled a bit at the sight of this place. Prepared foods aisle is right by the door with Starbucks and Target's own food service area nearby. Speaking of Target's ready made food for sale; combo's including a hot dog or sausage and medium size drink is only $2.50! The same combo at Portillo's is $5 bucks.. but.. we are comparing kiwi's to oranges. The word MEGAdocious came to mind when looking all around. I walked past the bakery area and came across a lady baker which greeted me and inquired if I needed help. Weird.. I'm used to that question only at grocery chains. The ceilings are high up in the sky and there is plenty of all kinds of products all around. Nice setup, aisles are clear and everything is clearly marked and tagged. I never walked far to find a price scanner and there was a helpful store associate at almost every section of the store. If you are a Target shopper regular, you know that clearance stuff is found at end caps at the far ends of aisles. Here with all the extra space they have, there are full aisles devoted to clearance items whether it be on toys, summer stuff, home and garden etc. I just picked up a bunch of items on massive clearance. Who doesn't need a bubbler machine, I mean it blows hundreds of bubbles.. great for a kids party or the random item at a keggar to bring smiles to all the intoxicated. Plenty of parking, this location is in a strip mall area. Milfs abound. WoOt. read more

There's just something oddly therapeutic walking round this Super Target. It has everything you could need and even more things you don't. I miss its convenience. Shame the Targets round here don't match up. They are busier, harder to park and less clean. All in all, just not "Super" read more

Super Target is super!! Oh look, kids clothes! Oh look, closet organizers! Oh look, Checkers fries! Since moving to Vernon Hills, Super Target has become our one stop shop for bathroom items to cheese. Since this Target is ginormous, I usually do home item centered trips or just grocery trips. There's a Starbucks in Target. Every time that I've attempted to get a Starbucks treat, there's been a line or some weird requesting customer. The store is well out well if you wanted to do different types of trips. You can easily bypass the groceries for the typical Target overspending trips. As for the cashiers, it's a mixed bag. Some cashiers are fantastic while others are so so at best. During busy hours, they have someone directing customers to available cashiers. Overall, it's a decent Target that's both our grocery store and purveyor of all of the Target goods. read more

This Target is quite literally a stone's throw from my apartment. It has more than your "non-super" Target, but as a whole I do not like this location at all. I can find everything I need here, which is great. It's close, which is also great. The prices are reasonable, and from what I understand comparable with Walmart. I usually only shop for household items and cleaning supplies here, along with the occasional DVD and drugstore-type cosmetic item. I find the layout to be really weird. Most of the beauty/health stuff is around the pharmacy, but you have to go around the corner from makeup/shampoo/lotion/first aid/etc. to get to *ahem* feminine products. When I first needed to purchase those items I spent probably 10 minutes walking down every aisle in the vicinity without a single employee asking me if I needed help. Eventually I found it, but I didn't need any extra help being cranky if you get what I mean. Also, the cleaning products for the most part share an aisle with Gatorade or something strange like that. I feel like there's just something odd about beverages and Clorox wipes being down the same aisle. Maybe this is silly, but the thing I really hate about this Target are the shopping carts. They are old, gross, make a lot of noise, and certainly are not easy to push in a straight line or turn in a narrow aisle. This Target is pretty much always busy, and I would really love if they could get the newer style shopping carts that the Wheeling location has. I have been told I am cursed when it comes to shopping carts though. I always pick one with a wonky wheel, a black grease stain that gets all over an expensive handbag, or the noisiest one ever. And no, I don't put my handbags in the shopping carts at stores anymore because I did have one get majorly stained (which was not the store's fault and did not factor in my hatred of this store's shopping carts as it did not happen here). It's convenient, so I do shop here. But if I'm out and about I will go to the Wheeling location which is much quieter and has fantastic shopping carts (my two favorite things). read more

I had a lot of errands to run one day, and honestly, not enough time to do them all. I had to grocery shop, go to the optometrist, have lunch, buy a new TV, get a baby shower gift for my cousin, and return an ottoman I received as a gift from some store called "Target." I went online to find the nearest "Target," and to my surprise, there are a lot of these stores in the area. There is one in Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Lake Zurich, Highland Park, Gurnee, Palatine, Arlington Heights, etc. I decided on the Vernon Hills Target. This place is huge! They have everything you could ever ask for (figuratively). Did this store just open? I think I've heard of these stores on the west coast, but have never seen them around here. Most of popped up overnight! Target is the perfect "one-stop shop." I stopped once, shopped, and was done. Fresh produce, check. Ordered new contacts, check. Hot dog, popcorn, and a Coke, check. Baby Bjorn, check. Vizio 52" LED TV, check. $102.56 store credit from the ottoman, gift card (get it, I didn't say check.) I will probably be back. read more

It's more of a 3.5 and here's why- The store is huge with a grocery section, which is great in a pinch. Prices are high and selection tends to be bland. The layout of this store is confusing but that may be because of its size. The weirdest is the brightly colored cleaning supplies right across from the soda and pop... In the same aisle. Who in the WORLD thought that made sense??? With checkout- even on a slow morning, there's always a line. ALWAYS. I don't understand it. The express lanes are closed half the time and the cashiers need some new training on bagging. The last time I went, I left with 8 bags and when I reorganized before sticking it all in my trunk, i had 4 bags. What a waste of plastic bags! I come here out of necessity and wish this target worked better than it does. There's also only 2 or 3 carts available whenever I walk in, though the carts get brought in a bit later.
