I shopped here for the first time on Wed. 5-6-2026; I had a great experience at this store! It appears to be a bigger store than the other Costcos I go to (Schaumburg and Lake Zurich), plus, it was hardly crowded the night I went (7:45 pm). Large, good quality selection here too--I found everything I needed! Everything was at a good low price vs what I'd spend at Mariano's or Target! I also was glad that there was no wait for me to gas up my huge old Lexus SUV here either--although I was shocked about the smaller size of the gas station here! Anyway, I would definitely come back to this location: it's huge, clean, has great product location, is in Lake County (so no higher Crook County taxes to pay), and is less crowded (compared to Schaumburg, whose aisles are almost always clogged with half of Asia and Eastern Europe rudely yapping away on their phones and blocking people's way)! read more

I'm disappointed by the level of customer service I experienced at Costco on Friday, May 15. After waiting in a long checkout line, the last thing I expected was to be treated so rudely by the cashier, "Micaela." She threw my items onto the belt, never greeted me, and did not acknowledge me once during the transaction. It was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at Costco. I also spoke with a manager, but nothing was done beyond listening to my complaint. As a long-time customer, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I also have a Sam's Club membership, and experiences like this make me seriously consider canceling my Costco membership. Maybe you need a slow lane for customers who don't appreciate your attempts at a speedy check out. Trying to race customers through the check out doesn't always work so well. Guy in front of me got the wrong change paying cash, because if the rush. Two visits from the manager to fix it and try to go to the next person in line. So I move to the next line with my 11 items. They get scanned and the cashier says "have a nice day." Umm, did you want me to pay? Just rude and crazy. Getting my receipt checked at the exit wasn't any better. Terrible experience. read more

I'm a big fan of Costco, and this one is really good! How good can Costco be? Here are a couple of things that stood out to me as unusually good: -It is better organized than typical. The layout is intuitive and easy to maneuver. -The store is very efficient. I was able to get thru checkout line in short order. -Not as busy as I'm used to for a Saturday afternoon. -Same great prices. -Same great rotisserie chicken, but no wait time! (and twice the size and half the price of your grocery store rotisserie : ) - My only beef with Costco is they don't accept the Discover card. Highly recommended! read more

I was spending my evening shopping for the necessities you know toilet paper, and food. I was venturing through the aisles when all of a sudden I heard "BOOM-BOOM-BOOM" all of a sudden my quiet day had turned into me back when I was in the army. Of course I'm a 65 year old I still put in the work in the gym but I'm not still in the best shape. I was frantic trying to make sure I could save people. I ran through the aisles hoping I could save others. It turned out that some fooligans were yelling "BOOM" as a joke. I was very frustrated as they were laughing about it. This suckers were holding cookies and yelling "BOOM" who does such a thing. What is wrong with this generation. Such statements are not ok to joke about. One of my favorite places because you can buy organic veggies and fruits in larger quantities. I also love that you can buy three cartons of almond milk for a very reasonable price. Gold star members treated as inferiors! While I was in line with items on conveyor at checkout I waited 20 minutes while the tried to sell executive membership to person in front of me! Another time they made me wait for an extra minute with my cane (needing to urinate) while others were let in to upgrade to executive membership! Cancelled membership after that! read more

M husband and I stopped at the Mettawa location on our way home from a doctor's appt. My husband has a debilitating illness and walks with a cane (unsteady on his feet). We arrived at 9:55am. Store only open for "Executive Members" until 10 am. We were met at the store entrance by one of their "Service Representatives". We asked to be let in so my husband could use the washroom (takes him a while to get there). We were told that we had to wait a few more minutes but we were welcome to enter now if we wanted to go to the service desk and upgrade our membership to "executive" status. We really don't need an executive membership. I have a Sam's Executive Membership that is closer to our home. I was stunned! Clearly, customer service is a thing of the past but humane treatment is as well. I would like to add that there is nowhere to sit, benches, etc. in the entry way for "non-executive" members or for folks with mobility issues. I guess your options are to stand there and wait or go back to your car. For individuals with limited mobility, the walk in is demanding as well as the walk back to the parking lot. Needless to say, we did not wait. Upon arriving home, I called the Costco Customer Service line and cancelled my membership. Sadly, I've had a Costco membership for years...Not anymore. Sam's is really heads above Costco. They have touch-free check-out (scan your products with the app & walk out the door). Although, there are some products Costco carries that Sam's does not, I'll make due. At least Sam's doesn't treat you like a dirt rag. read more

Anyway, Costco in Mettawa, is a great place to shop for food items, Eyewear and more. I like their variety of the different items they carry, their quality & pricing and good service. Very organized with lots of choices. However this place will be busy on weekends. We never have any trouble finding parking because there's just a rotation of cars coming in and out. I always find the clothes they have are great quality especially for the price. Self check out goes by pretty fast even with the long lines. My van was serviced at Costco tire repair on July 6. My two children, my husband, and I were driving to Montana for a family vacation on July 11 when we heard a loud screeching noise from the van tires. My van's passenger front tire rolled off when I was driving. And my van almost flipped over, but I managed to stop it. The opposing driver's side steering wheel fell off and was never I received a letter from you claiming that your investigation was concluded and that you were unable to assign culpability to Costco. Unfortunately, the tire service was insufficient because my van tire rolled off the road when we were on our way to vacation, and the service was not performed properly. This decision has not made me happy. Why did the tire suddenly roll off the road if Costco tire service was flawless? We would have died if we hadn't been able to stop it. read more

You get 12 of them for $5.99! I can't get enough of these cookies! Can't wait until December 1st, I will be there at 9 am! Even though they have senior hours from 9 am - 10 am Monday to Friday, I suggest you go around 9:30 or so cause there's a huge line at 9! This is our main store we shop at. Is it busy on the weekend, yes, but we avoid weekends and never have an issue with lines. There is never a shortage on food or products and if you need something there is always staff to help. It's a very clean store and clean bathrooms. The customer service has always been solid and professional. The membership is worth the price even for someone who doesn't regularly shop in bulk. The Costco return policy is one of the best in the shopping industry. read more

Brought my vehicle in for a tire leak. I have a special anti theft lugs on my vehicle and the special socket is kept in the glove compartment. They completed the tire repair, but did not place the special socket back into the glove compartment. I did not know this and the work occurred over a year ago. Without the socket, I have no way to remove my tires. I will have to have a mechanic manually remove them. When I asked them about it, they claim they put it back, but somehow it is not there and I am screwed. read more

This is one of my favorite Costco's. They always choose great samples to snack on while shopping. I found all types of seasonal items and great gifts for the holidays during this trip. Again surprised because I wasn't expecting much in the way of service on a Saturday. He took the time to review my computer needs. He helped me to compare systems. We even went to the store's computer to see if a good fit might be available on line. No push to buy today. No push to upgrade (to more than I need). I like shopping for products here and have used the eye care & immunization centers too but I would STEER CLEAR of pharmacy. Making up their own rules as today is NOT the first time they failed to fulfill a RX, don't inform the PX the RX is ready, then blame the state for not allowing Costco to dispense within 30 days? Where did that rule come from bc I certainly don't have this issue at Osco or Walgreens? I don't even use insurance for RX! Hence why I no longer have my RX filled by this Costco. In general we like this store and we are shopping a lot at this store, but the day before Thanksgiving me and my wife had terrible experience there. We needed to return Dyson vacuum with receipt and store manager wouldn't accept return for no reason and was very rude. According to store policy Costco must accept return, but this store manager was creating his own rules. When we said that we pay membership and entitled to return this item he said we can refund your membership fee and Costco doesn't need you, handed receipt to us and went somewhere. We went to different Costco location and returned the vacuum with no issues. This manager was very bad : instead of resolving issues he created them. read more

This is a review for Costco Tire Center in Mettawa, IL. PLEASE take pics of your car BEFORE you give the car to Costco employee, or make them sign off on no damage. We bought four tire w/ installation from this Costco location. When the car was returned to us, there was a dent and a scratch on the rear of the vehicle. Costco denied doing this, but sent our report to a 3rd party insurance processor, Gallagher Bassett. After chasing GB for over a month (they just ignored all calls), I was told that they could not find proof that Costco damaged my car, and refused to pay. I tried to contact local Costco management, as well as corporate, and they refused to pay to fix the damage. Very disappointed in Costco! Avoid the Tire Center at this location! read more

Like every other Costco in the area, this location offers great items at great prices. I prefer the parking at this location and the Lake Zurich location over Randhurst and Schaumburg just because the traffic is a bit more dispersed and has a logical traffic flow. Sometimes the front area can get very crowded and confusing -- or there are enough pedestrians in front of and behind you to make it difficult to get out of the parking lots. In terms of food and services -- this has a great selection of natural and organic foods. The selection of fresh fruits and vegetables are somewhat limited, but offered at good prices. The bakery amazes me with quality equal to that of most restaurants. The fresh and frozen meats offer high quality cuts that many other stores do not. Definitely worth a membership to shop here, even if you have a small household. You'll easily save the cost of the entire membership in toilet paper purchases alone. read more

Let me start by saying I love Costco. I do 90% of my shopping at Costco. I just moved to this area and did not have a good first impression of this store. The store overall is clean and nice definitely not as busy as the store I am used too. My issue is with the staff. I was asked about 5 times while trying to shop to show my membership card. I get asking for a glance at the door. However when it comes time to pay I wouldn't be able to get anything without a valid card. So why was I asked to show it multiple times as I was shopping? I did not get a smile or hello from staff until I was walking out. I witnessed another staff member yelling at a lady when she was asking where to put her car for loading some items. Overall will I still shop at Costco? yes. However I will probably drive a little further to get a more welcoming environment. read more

I just moved back to IL from FL to be with my mom, the costco in FL had 3 times the amount of organic and even has lots of grass fed beef and pork, wild caught seafood, not farmed junk with parasites. I thought IL for sure would be so much better, because we are intelligent, educated people and watch what we put in our bodies, but HUH? Not so! Shocking! All the people driving Bentleys and wearing Prada here and they eat junk, tsk tsk shame... IL has almost NONE organic choices... only 1 grass fed not 100% either burger patties?!! Are you kidding me? I am not paying extra for garbage that still has GMO and glyphosate in it, because every time they give the cows the "conventional feed" it is guaranteed to have GMO corn, cottonseed, canola and soy among animal biproducts and a dressing of pesticides and herbicides and when the cows eat that, it ends up in the meat we are cooking, in our home, for our families, and our children! What can one say about Costco that people don't already know? Well, this is the newest Costco in the area -- bright lights, big city. Bonuses for this particular Costco: -- Convenient. Right off of the highway at 94 and 60. -- Gas Station. Never thought I would be buying my gas from Costco. And yet every time I pass there, I find myself filling up. It's an easy jump from the highway and back on in case you're passing by. -- You don't need to cut out all of those annoying paper coupons to get the deals. At this location, they automatically process them for you. No clipping. No stuffing your wallet. Just the extra savings. -- No risk for the executive level. Many people don't know that if you don't make back the "price" of the executive level card when you get your year end check, they will give you the difference back. So it's a win win. -- $2 hot dogs. They also carry pizza, soda for a ridiculously low price. True story: The Costco execs were hammering the owner about raising the price of their hot dogs. I mean, there's cheap and then there's basically giving them away. The CEO responded that they could raise the cost of their hot dogs "when I'm good and dead." And just as at all Costcos, I can stock up on all of my necessities plus a lot of other stuff I had no intention of buying but somehow walked away with.... Toweling paper, toilet paper, tissues, Coke, Nature Valley Granola bars, cereal, batteries, etc. Just thinking about the amount of money I've saved over the years on diapers, formula and wine just makes me want to do the happy dance. I had a hearing test at this location and the person doing the test Coleen did an outstanding job very professional. I did research on hearing aids and found the Kirkland 10.0 was the one I Ordered. I'm impressed with how professional she was. At first before she would order the hearing aids she Suggested I see an ENT which I did. The cost of the hearing aid was $1400.00 compared to other hearing aid stores who quoted $6000. To 7000. For the same quality. The follow up care looks like it will be outstanding.
