Tarpon Lodge Restaurant NEVER disappoints and tonight proves it! Went there to celebrate our sister's birthday. This is our choice of places for celebrating a person.... They make us look good. She had the best sangria she said she's ever had. My husband had the bourbon signature drink of theirs. ... Donna at the bar, knows her stuff. Because we requested the table in the corner by the fireplace, which is also in the lounge, she was actually a pleasure to have serving us as well. From the soup to the entrée to the most amazing desserts, this place will always remain our favorite - filet mignon (10 out of 10) - house made dessert - all of them were good, but the Keylime pie was off the chart (15 out of 10, if you will). Highly recommend if you go please make a reservation. This is one amazing historical place has been there since 1926 and still remains the old southern charm.

Catch of the day- Triple Tail, mango salsa, coconut jasmine rice, and asparagus.

Hannah was our waitress and she was amazing. So accomodating and friendly! Amazing bread- cranberry nut bread and a French/style bread served with peppercorn butter with olive oil Crab and corn chowder- very buttery, corn-forward with decent chunks of crab in it. Don't ruin it with the crackers they offer, it doesn't need it! Very craveable. Shrimp and grits - creamy with a great spicy andouille. Catch of the day- Triple Tail, mango salsa, coconut jasmine rice, and asparagus. Perfectly cooked, soft fish and moist rice. Great ratios of everything. The island itself isn't much to write home about but this restaurant is FIVE STARS. Great food, great service, and incredible ambience. Definitely recommend visiting for dinner at sunset!

What a lovely place to spend our anniversary and last night on our spring break vacation in Florida! Our server was lovely and attentive. The food was delicious. We had the Bronzed Pink Gulf Shrimp appetizer - interesting and yummy! I had the Blue Crab & Corn Chowder and the catch of the day - red snapper with rice and mango salsa. The soup - perfect! The rice was a little boring, but the fish and salsa were a lovely combo. I had order envy - my husband got the scallops prepared with carrot puree and baby carrots. So delicious. We got a free anniversary dessert - the key lime pie. This was our third try for key lime pie at different restaurants on our vacation - and it was BY FAR the best one!!

Our family had reservations here to celebrate multiple birthdays. We arrived early and were directed to the bar area to wait. We all ordered cocktails, and the bartender did not seem quite comfortable behind the bar (unsure about certain brands of liquors and wrong garnishes on drinks). We then sat inside. Our waitress was super pleasant and on top of things. Food was delicious. The deconstructed bruschetta is a must get for the table. The goat cheese was super creamy. Also, the smoked fish dip. Great flavor and good toppings. I ordered the jumbo lump crab pappardelle. Lots of crab meat and a big dish to order. Everyone at the table who ordered the catch of the day was very pleased. Overall, it was a great meal. I liked the cozy yet elegant feel within the restaurant.

Such amazing memories from my childhood this place has been around for many years. Had the privilege of taking my two adult children and son-in-law to dinner here last night. The ambience was incredible and the service was great and the food was superb. We had requested the shift to make something off the menu as my son doesn't eat certain things. The Chef did not disappoint! He made an amazing chicken dish minus the bacon. The dessert(s) were delicious. Donna served our table and she was fantastic! When we go again, I hope she's working. Highly suggest Tarpon Lodge restaurant do not go if you're in a hurry. It's just a great place to wander around before and after your meal. Our last visit we were there during the day and sat at the table in the bar. It was great. This time we sat out under the canopy. Can't wait to return.

We absolutely love this place and we are so happy they have come through the terrible storms and re opened. It is a testament to their drive and dedication to keeping a beautiful historic property going. The staff is very friendly the food and drinks are great. Beautiful atmosphere. See some Florida tradition and stop by.

It's old too, but it's clean and maintained and cute! Can you tell it's old by the uneven floors and several layers of paint on the walls?--yes. While this isn't a luxury place, it's rather enjoyable. We stayed in the room called Little Snookie. That room is located on the left just as you enter the main front door. Check-in was completely contact-free. The owner/manager text us prior to check in with the codes to get inside. We had everything we needed for our short one-night stay, so I don't know how good or fast service would be if you needed something. I would suggest that if you're high-maintenance to not stay here...nor the island in general as this is a laid-back place! Anyways, I would love to stay here again especially if I could book one of the other rooms that are on the backside with views of the water. When we arrived, we checked out the back deck area and it was really nice. We saw a couple enjoying wine right outside their room door. It was really relaxing. We came back out to sit and watch the stars at night. Parking and/or leaving can be tricky. It's right off a fairly busy road, but especially if you have a normal-sized car, you can pull off the road like you're parallel parking, and then back into your spot. This makes it easier to leave. And once there, you don't have to leave for things like dinner and drinks. It's walkable to restaurants and ice cream. We walked just a little down the road for dinner outside at a restaurant (also on the water) playing live music. Book this place for the perfect romantic get-away!

The trip out to the island went off without a hitch unlike friends of ours who had travelled over the day before who did not have a good experience. We spent a lovely day at the beach and at 4 we showed up back at the marina with plenty of time, waiting to board the ferry for our 4:30 departure time. By the ferry, under the only available cover from the scorching Florida summer sun, no seats were available for us to sit. That section was heavily occupied by various workers that were also looking to escape the sun and board the ferry. I found a shaded spot near the office where I was able to stand with my kids to keep them out of the sun and cool while we waited to board the ferry. While we waited I asked two different crew members that were unloading a cargo ferry if/when I was able to board since I wasn't standing directly in front of the ferry itself given the lack of cover, to which they replied "oh you can't board until 4:30." It was 4:29 when I was told that. The last man I asked was walking next to the captain, both have which just came from the bar, drinks in hand, heading toward the ferry. Seeing this I decided it was close and we would be leaving soon. I start to gather my three kids and 4 bags and send my cousin with my 11 month old over to board the ferry first a few minutes later. She comes back and said the boat was gone! It was 4:33! I ran to the dock which was just on the other side of the office where I was standing to see that she was right, the boat had left. I was crushed and in disbelief as I'm sure you could imagine. Being told by multiple crew members I couldn't board then 3 minutes after the departure time I missed the boat was infuriating. I felt like I was set up to fail and no one cared. No one offered to help I was just out of luck. I called the 1-800-576-7343 number to try and speak to someone for help but could not leave a message as the service was not set up. I approached a crew member, Joseph and asked if he could call the ferry back and explained to him that I have been here waiting and asked multiple people to board and was told I had to wait. He responded with "well it's not our job to make sure everyone is on board but I'll see what I can do." I was floored that was his response. It was insult to injury at that point. I thought to myself what was the point of making a reservation if it meant nothing. He made a call to what I assume was a manager and returned to us with "good news is you can enjoy 3 more hours of paradise and get on the next ferry." At this point my children are all flush with heat, noticeably sweating and exhausted from the day. To say to a mom who just missed her only exit off the island, strategically picked to avoid toddler meltdown, to just go off and enjoy the day was an additional blow. I was in shock that not only was the situation being placed on me as it was my fault but that additionally he was doing me a favor by allowing me to get on the next ferry. The fact that multiple people saw me, I was next to the office, I was clearly trying to escape the sun with my kids, one of which has special needs, it just felt like it was "got you" type moment. At no point was there any resemblance of a "wow I'm sorry that was your experience, let me see what we can do." Or even a "it was an oversight that they left without you, our apologies there is another ferry at 7:15." We showed up at 7 for the next ferry with now overly tired toddlers and boarded the ferry. We stood in front of the boats entrance this time to ensure they didn't leave without us. Joseph was on board and even drove the shuttle from the ferry back to the cars parking lot. Overall my experience was really upsetting and felt like an intentional trick. It was my first trip using the ferry service and was looking forward to using it many more times in the future. I cant express how truly disappointing it was.

Was told park anywhere and no one even asked our name. This is an oversized parking lot with 10 sites. Not all sites have full hookup as advertised. First site we pulled into had no sewer. If you don't have a 50amp RV, you must bring a converter as that's all they have, even though it's advertised as 30/50. Luckily we had one otherwise we would have had a problem. If it rains- be careful! Big storm last night and hookup area flooded where electric and sewer hookup was. Luckily we were hooked up prior to storm. Our neighbor who arrived shortly after storm was not so lucky and had to wait for area to dry up before they could hook up. It never did so they had to boondock at different site. My spouse was sick and we called the day before at 8am to see if we could reschedule. We spoke to someone who informed us to text the owners and they will get back to us when they can. I then texted. When I didn't hear back I called again at 3:30 and was told again the owners are busy and will get back to me eventually. I texted again at 5 and never heard back so we just went. It was frustrating I couldn't get an answer. The place is very chill. Family owned and ran. Met an owner who arrived hours after we hooked up. Very kind. Nice dock out back to watch sunrise and dolphins play. Chairs, fire pit and kayaks available for use. Island shack on property with laundry, shower, bathroom and couches.
