I don't usually enjoy cake doughnuts. When it comes to Tas-T-O's however cake is the way to go. Their yeast raised doughnuts are a little too much like glazed bread. The yeast doughnuts lack the qualities which I attribute to truly ethereal doughnuts; simultaneously and paradoxically feathery-light, and, barely-eggy but very rich; also yielding to the verge of collapse at the notion of slightest pressure. In short these are just a step above (if even that) Publix doughnuts. The cake doughnuts, however, are another matter entirely. They are moist inside with a shell of thinnest crunch and have right on point density which doesn't weigh down the palate but is deeply satisfying. The flavor is on the subtle end but is present none the less. Verdict? My favorite cake doughnut ever. I can't wait to make ice cream sandwiches with these! read more

Small Town donut shop! These donuts are so delicious! You do have to get up pretty early to get what you like. They close very early as they usually sell out!! I was very excited to drive by and see them open one morning as they are usually closed when we drive by. The go-to hole in the wall doughnut place. There's no sitting or going inside, instead just a doughnut display and a window to walk up to and order. However the doughnuts were amazing. The cinnamon fritter was to die for. I'd definitely recommend that anyone passing by Ocala stop by and eat. The only problem I had was that their jelly filling was not particularly good, but that was minor. Would definitely visit again. read more

Better than any chain doughnut shop and you get to see all of them up front in the window. The ladies bake them right there in the back and your order though a window. Just down the street from one of the major breakfast doughnut stores, Tas-T-O's has the most delicious doughnuts I have ever consumed. My favorites are the chocolate devil's food with chocolate frosting. Tas-T's is the neighborhood doughnut shop that every town should have. They're doing very well in their location. My only complaint, which is the reason for the 4 stars and not 5, is the location. They need a better parking lot. Being on 40, on the blvd, which has heavy traffic in the morning it can be tricky pulling out as you're on your way to work. If only they had a better spot or parking lot to handle the crowds. Otherwise, their food is to die for. read more

When I first moved to town my sis says "One of the things you HAVE to try is Tas-t-o's" I'm not a huge donut fan so i was like what could be so good about a donut? Also she says if I don't get up early ..like as soon as they open the donuts will be GONE. I hate getting up early ..lol Well a few weeks later I found out what she was talking about.
