She took my info and then stated I had missed an appointment early September for my bloodwork follow up in Kihei! Firstly I went to the free Kaiser RV setup in Napili Park for any medical issues then not MMG as we were restricted from leaving the area after the August fire and MMG were not on this side, their clinic burned down. Secondly the blood work was taken 4 weeks ago in December in Napili! She was really awful, kept me waiting ages, then gave me an appointment in a couple of days time once she crucified me for my supposed missing a September appointment. I really didn't need to wait 10 mins for her to make her supposed point. My bloods were taken 3 months after the date she said I missed an appointment for blood work follow up. I really am glad that MMG have reopened in Napili. However the receptionist torturing me for missing an appointment I hadn't made and making me wait 10 mins to make an appointment was unfair. I'm finding Napili MMG clinic totally disorganised and unhelpful. I waited 2 hours for my bloods with a pre booked appointment, and waited 10 mins for an appointment in person to be booked for a follow up. People on the west side don't need this type of stress or time wasting when we are dealing with FEMA, Red Cross, etc. The receptionist should be ashamed treating clients this way. Please, organise your office Napil MMG. Once you get passed this first hurdle the other staff are fantastic. Dr Denton's nurse is excellent as is Dr Denton. It is just a pain trying to get an appointment or any valid help from reception before you get to the next layer.

On Tuesday I took my mom (87 yr old, and very frail) to this office for a physician referral to get Rehab services for her at Hale Makua, this form needs to be FAXED over to HM by Drs office. Thursday morning, I call Hale Makua to check on status of the Drs FAX and guess what??? NO FAX HAS BEEN SENT! The lady at Hale Makua shifted through quite a few papers, so that just put my mom farther down the list!! What takes so long to fax 1 piece of paper??? I'm sure it got lost with the her referral for GI which was supposed to be done in May! The Dr told us that she had a patient waiting since Dec for Hale Makua, I'm wondering if she even sent it back in December for that patient?!!!

The reporting was the problem. I was sent home with a couple of picture of my colon with no professional explanation at what I was seeing. No follow up appointment was scheduled. I called several times seeking results, cancer- no cancer, what? After waiting 6 weeks I got a form letter telling me to "recall" information I was never informed about. It was my idea to look online to Castles online patient records to find out my results. I contacted Castle Hospitals ombudsman to give recommendations for Dr to improve communication when testing for cancer.

Dr. Tanabe or "Dr. Brian" as he introduces himself, is so absolutely amazing. He takes his time with you, does not rush you and listens carefully to any concerns. His checks are so thorough. He makes every visit worth it. And his bedside manner is amazing. The kids love him and so do we! I'm so grateful we have an amazing ped and it's so convenient with easy parking. Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to talk to somebody at his office to see if they take VA referrals (or for anything else, apparently). I don't recall ever being jerked around so much. During working hours they never answer the phone--no matter what menu option you choose, you get put on hold for awhile and then a recording comes on that says they are not available, leave a message. Then they tell you that the message box is full. This happened yesterday afternoon and I thought maybe they were closed on Tuesdays, but the same thing today (Wednesday). WOW! I can't even imagine entering into a working relationship with people like this--ugh.
