One of the better experiences I've had at a doctors office on the island. The staff is friendly and helpful.

She is so friendly, warm, kind... amazing bedside manner. In fact her whole team is incredible. It's weird to say that this is one doctor I don't mind visiting. It was truly the first time I felt really heard with all these issues that had been ailing me for the last few years. She give options, listens, explains in a way that makes me feel empowered to be my own health advocate. She is truly a gift to the medical field.

He was the WORST!! I told my OB/GYN to NEVER refer anyone to this doctor and gave her a laundry list of reasons why. Although I was supposed to return within 5 years (due to the number of polyps) I refused to go back. I didn't go for another 12 years, until my PCP really got on me. LOL! She referred me to Dr. Miyamoto and she is AWESOME!!! So competent, friendly, compassionate, and genuinely cares about you. She works with an awesome staff as well. My "operating room" was full of caring and kind people. I didn't hesitate to schedule my next appointment with Dr. Miyamoto when it was time to go again. I have referred several of my friends to her as well. I'm so thankful I have her!

I came in early, one hour before, and was prep. Dr. Joseph Manlolo, came in and went over the procedure and if I had any questions. Then, the anesthesiologist came introduced herself and I relayed the last experience I had. Again very professional. I went in , fell asleep and woke up in the recovery room. Still groggy, I got dressed and was told to wait in the lobby. I was offered a Hawaiian juice can, and waited for my ride. I also got the results. If you're scheduled for a colonoscopy or endoscopy, have your doctor refer you to this place. High recommended.

I usually get poked a few times because my veins are small, but they made the entire process very comfortable. The anesthesiologist was incredibly kind and accommodated my request so I didn't have to be poked multiple times. She reassured me by saying I wasn't a hard stick--which really helped ease my nerves (even though I usually am!). I also truly appreciate the nurse who prepped me for the procedure; I genuinely felt the care and compassion. And of course, thank you to Dr. Obana for taking such great care of me throughout the procedure. From beginning to finish, they made me feel safe and well cared for. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for true, genuine care.

I informed them that I do not have a PCP since UHA does not need a PCP referral and that I can directly schedule with the provider. My procedure took abut 45 minutes and he was able to find polyps and remove them. The staff at Pacific Endoscopy are very, very nice as well. To maintain your privacy, you are assigned a number, so they call your number instead of your name when the nurses are ready to prep you. Although I could only see his eyes, in my drug-hazed state, Dr. Wong reminded me of my husband at the same age. That was strangely comforting to me. Dr. Wong and Pacific Endoscopy were very good about giving me instructions, such as the day-before prep (not fun), and what to do on the day of your procedure. They provided me with a Medi-Van service number that I could call, since I wasn't able to drive home after the procedures. They are very thorough in telling patients what to do and expect with these procedures.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this physician…read more I am a retired ICU Registered Nurse. My husband is a retired physician. I was referred to Dr Yang for a colonoscopy - a 3 year post - polyp removal follow up. Below were some of my many concerns: 1.I found his administrative staff to be polite but incompetent - especially a male named Vincent. Vincent would repeatedly contact me over the course of 4 months to request my "healthcare authorization". Which I repeatedly re-sent. This was actually not what he needed. He was actually requesting my "health history". 2. The weekend before my scheduled "pre -procedure" appointment - Vincent contacted me yet again to let me know they had not yet received my "healthcare authorization". He said they would have to "cancel" my pre - procedure appointment " if they did not receive my paperwork by 5pm on that Friday. I again sent my "medical authorization " paperwork. Unfortunately- it was a Friday. And I realized my appointment was at 8am the following Monday. I did not want them to cancel an appointment that I had waited 4 months for. So - I contacted Dr Yang via cell number provided by voicemail. I reached him - and he was audibly disturbed that I had dared to contact him regarding ensuring that my appointment was kept as my paperwork was in order...he did wish to concern himself with such a trivial matter. I found him to be abrupt, condescending....and rude over the phone. 3. I showed up early on Monday morning with my husband at my side. Dr Yang was late. His waiting room was small- there were 3 other patients waiting with me. So - he's "cramming" 4 patients into an 8am time slot - with only ONE physician. As he entered - he was clearly irritable- he barked at his front desk staff to remove a sign from his office front door. As I was seated right next to the door - and his staff were behind an enclosed desk ( they would have had to walk around) - to be helpful I got up and removed the sign as he wished. He did not like that. He wanted his own staff to do as he bid. Already off to a bad start. 4. During my office visit - it became very clear that it was a "pre-procedure" visit. For a COLONOSCOPY. I've had 2 previous colonoscopies. The purpose of my visit was so that he could SELL me his "special" colon prep. And he wanted to explain to us personally all the details of his colon prep. During this entire visit - he was rude and condescending. He did not like the fact that I had called him personally on the weekend to ensure that I would see him Monday morning. He did not like the fact that both my husband and I were a nurse and a physician - he needed to let us understand we knew our place in HIS world. 5. We bought his "special" colon prep. I went home - and realized that Dr Yang was probably the worst physician I have ever encountered- both as a nurse working at Straub Hospital in their ICU...and as a patient. Horrible bedside manner...and I certainly was not willing to find out if his clinical skills were any better by letting him insert a scope into my unconscious body. I wrote above so that every person on Oahu would understand that they do not need to be treated in such an ABUSIVE way and receive substandard care from any physician. Just walk away. NO. I cancelled the appointment with him. Dr Russell Yang should never practice again. Dr James W O'Brien at Surgicare Hawaii eventually did my colonoscopy. He was EXCELLENT.
