This attraction doesn't require an appointment, but it is a longer bus ride from the other Niagara Parks attractions, so be sure to plan for that. We used our passes to take the WEGO bus from Niagara Takes Flight to the butterfly conservatory. Rain was in the forecast, so this is a nice, indoor option. The conservatory itself houses so many butterflies, and they tell you upon entry that it is thought to be lucky if a blue one lands on you, so everyone inside is doing their best to attract a blue butterfly. Several landed on us, and while you don't want to move for fear of them flying away, you also want to get your companion's attention to snap that perfect pic! We had lots of fun even though the temperature is kept very warm and the space was crowded. Clearly, everyone had the same rainy-day activity planned. My only complaint comes from when I asked about re-entry. I was told that we could leave the conservatory, but not the building. We wanted to visit the cafe and grab a bite to eat or something to drink and perhaps return once the crowd had thinned out a bit, but that is not permitted. We were told that we could step out to cool down in the gift shop or lobby area and then return through the same entrance that we used when we arrived. The volunteer got on her walkie to tell someone that we'd be coming back in, so I'm not even sure that this is normally permitted. Overall, it was a fun and new experience for us. The staff was kind and the conservatory is beautiful. There's also a botanical garden and at least one beehive there, but we didn't get to explore the outdoor areas due to the rain.

I was a little disappointed when I went on June 10, 2025 because most of the flowers are gone, and just a lot of greens + leaves and a lot of cactus lol. I was expecting more flowers because this place was called Floral Showhouse. It would give it that the indoor space and outdoor grounds were well-maintained, and the staff at the admission desk/cashier was friendly and welcoming. I agree with one of the Yelpers that this place should not be a stand alone attraction. The parking was $36, and the admission was $8+tax per person. The indoor greenhouses opened to public was limited to 2 rooms, plus an outdoor garden. We were pretty much done viewing in less than an hour. There was a souvenir area, which was the saving grace because we found some pretty unique gifts.

There was a lot of people there, so everyone had to wait before getting their picture with the clock. This Floral Clock is really pretty and colorful. I think it's cool how this clock is still working. We only spent about 20 minutes here since there isn't much to do there, but it is cool to look at. I'd recommend visiting this clock! It's a touristy location, so it might take awhile for you to get your picture, but it was fun looking at it.

I recently came back during the annual poinsettia display and enjoyed walking around to see the variety of poinsettias and other plants. They also had an art exhibit featuring portraits of heroes of horticulture. Overall, I highly recommend to both locals or anyone visiting the region.

2018 was a long year with a lot of work and not enough outdoor activity. I was looking for places…read moreto go on an outdoor hike with scenery and the West Humber Trail came up on my search results. As I was following the trail on Google Maps, I found that I could get on the trail from the Humber Arboretum. The arboretum is massive. It's well-kept with plenty of greenery mixed in with bright reds, yellows, and purples. There were a few groups taking wedding photos when I visited and I felt out of place in shorts and a tshirt. It's absolutely beautiful here and is a refreshing oasis from the surrounding concrete jungle. There are only 4 parking spots here, so if you visit please don't take up multiple spots. Due to poor parking skills of other visitors, I ended up driving to the Humberwood Library and walking back. The hike took me along the West Humber Trail, but I ended up getting a bit lost walking back to the arboretum. The trail is nicely paved and is well-suited for bicycles.
