    floral clock design october 2023

The floral clock is a nice landmark that you can see in a few minutes while you drive sightseeing near Niagara Falls. There is free, parking restrooms, and a snack shop. The clock is one of the largest obvious kind and it's made out of fresh flowers. There is also a pond in front of the clock that has goldfish. the floral clock was originally built in 1950 and it's maintained by Niagara Parks staff. It is eight working order clock.

We did a drive-by of this floral clock on our way to the butterfly conservatory. If you're taking a WEGO bus, the driver has to take a 5-minute stop here, so it's the perfect opportunity to get out and take a couple photos of the clock; however, there were no flowers, so I didn't bother to go out and take any photos, instead we just took a quick bathroom break and got back on the road. My wife asked the bus driver if there's no flowers because we are in the off-season and she said that no there's usually flowers in the clock and she doesn't understand why they're not putting flowers there yet especially since tulips are in season and usually tulips are in place for Mother's Day. I can see from other reviews that when the flowers are in bloom this is definitely worth the stop. All in all, it's free to see, so it might be worth the trip if you like tacky tourist stuff like this. Just be sure to ask the bus drivers if there are flowers in the clock so you don't waste your time coming out here just to see the clock. If you hitting up others adventure spots like we were, it's no big deal because you're going this way anyways.

I planned on going here on my list of places that I wanted to go to when I was planning on visiting Niagara Falls. I was impressed by the flowers and how the floral clock chimed on the hour when we were there at 3 o'clock. I was also impressed at how many people were there since I, for some reason, mixed up that there was a garden there as well, and there is not. It is literally just a floral clock there with fish in the water by it. When driving by when we were leaving, I saw people going in the door in the back so I don't know what's in there since I didn't check it out, but worth checking out if visiting!

This was a little underwhelming but the concept was nice. This would be a fabulous location for some detailed information about the falls. It's a working clock mounted on a bed of vibrant and beautiful flowers. I kind of wished the bus hung around a bit longer as this was really more of a photo op. There is nothing around it so you really are just sitting around waiting for the chimes and meeting the other nice folks who will take your photo and you can take theirs!

Cool attraction to stop by while going to or from Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls. The clock does chime on the hour every hour, which is really cool to see! Don't plan on spending too much time here - this is purely a quick pit stop kind of place. I also wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place since it's pretty much just a clock made up of flowers. The fact that this attraction is free and also has free parking is also big. Not everywhere in Niagara is like that, so take advantage!

It's okay, there's a huge clock made of flowers and that's pretty much it. There's lots of green space so if you want to go for a walk that's possible. Free parking is a plus since everywhere else seems to be paid parking.

If you're in the area this is a cool little oddity and worth a quick stop. I wouldn't really go out of my way for it because honestly it's just a flower bed with some mechanical clock hands on it. But it's in a lovely park and close to the butterfly conservatory. Overall 9/10 oddity

The great thing about travel, is not just those legendary places you plan to see, but things that you never knew about that knock your socks off along the way. That could be said about the Niagara Parks Floral Park and its approximately 12-metre (40-foot) clock. Flanked to the East by the Niagara River and to the West by the Beck Hydroelectric Station Reservoir, it is perfectly located stop about 11 km (6 miles) from Niagara Falls. It's also perfectly located for Niagara Parks (who manages the site) to keep the 16,000 carpet bedding plants flush with water. Let's first give the stats for the horticulturists and flower nuts ... Alternanthera, Privet, Santolina are the most frequent additions to the clock. They change the flowers (and flower types) every year or so, as of now, they have Alternanthera ficoideas "Rosea Nana," (a.k.a. Calico Plant) "Missouri," and "Green" (a.k.a. Green Joseph's Coat) ... and I'm sure others I'm sure I've missed. They change the design too. While they described their 2018 design as "whimsical ... that resembles large commas or flower petals" the current arrangement could either be described as "six yellow raindrops" or, more accurately IMHO, "six petals of yellow daisies." Either way, it's a beautiful site to see. Now to the clock itself. Built in 1950, the Westminster Chimes ring on the quarter-hour with a sound reminiscent of something you may hear from Big Ben in that Westminster. I also highly recommend going behind the clock. There's an open door the leads to the inside. There you can both see and hear the gears, thingamajigs, and do-dads that run the clock, and also check out the signs and displays showing the history of the clock and its designs. As well, it's a great companion piece to the Botanical Gardens ... nearby and also run by Niagara Parks. Rain or shine, any season, I highly recommend a visit to the Floral Clock. You'll have a great time.

Gosh. I think I was only here for about five minutes. HUGE letdown. I think it's just worth coming here for a quick picture and just to say that you've been here. It is a free attraction with free parking, so I guess that's a plus. This clock actually works and you can see the hands moving. This clock has been around since like the 1950s, so it is somewhat historic. It gets redecorated like twice a year with flowers of all sorts. It's in the middle of nowhere really. It is near a well-manicured grassy areas with bushes and little trees, but not much else to see. If you're around the area and have extra time to kill, then stop by this Niagara Falls landmark. If not, you won't miss out on much.

    Yup, it's a clock alright.

This was a stop on a Niagara Falls guided tour that I attended. It ultimately was a washroom stop with a floral clock in walking distance, not the other way around lol. I mean I guess it's neat to look at, but I wouldn't say that it's a must-see landmark.

    Calvin S.

It's a nice clock in a bouquet of flowers, I admit. I also admire the history behind it. However, it's one of those attractions where you're pretty much done after 10 minutes. It's only a clock, and there's nothing around the area. It is free though, so that's a bonus. One thing I do like about the clock, amazingly, isn't the clock itself, but the goldfish in the creek surrounding the clock. It caught many of us by surprise, and half of the time there I spent taking photos of the goldfish because they just look so cute! It's one of those "you should definitely do once" things, but once you've accomplished this place there's no real attraction of coming back here.

Although it's unlikely that you will spend more than 30 minutes at this clock, I still think it's a fun place to stop! It's certainly not worth driving far out of your way for, but I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bit if you're in the area! The clock is kept perfectly clean and maintained. Whoever is responsible does a flawless job. In addition to the clock, I love the surrounding pond with fish and lily pads. A lot of people pack picnic lunches and sit on the lawn. If you don't do that, it's pretty much just a quick stop for a group photo and watching the clock chime when the hour changes.

Floral Clock-Pretty Pictures Free. The drive on Niagara Parkway is nice. Grounds are kept clean and manicure. Impressive design of the Floral Clock. The Floral Clock is a nice spot for photos. If you have the opportunity, a picnic would be nice. Perhaps while sightseeing, bring lunch, stop and enjoy lunch at one of the picnic tables near the clock. Nice to see.

This attraction doesn't require an appointment, but it is a longer bus ride from the other Niagara Parks attractions, so be sure to plan for that. We used our passes to take the WEGO bus from Niagara Takes Flight to the butterfly conservatory. Rain was in the forecast, so this is a nice, indoor option. The conservatory itself houses so many butterflies, and they tell you upon entry that it is thought to be lucky if a blue one lands on you, so everyone inside is doing their best to attract a blue butterfly. Several landed on us, and while you don't want to move for fear of them flying away, you also want to get your companion's attention to snap that perfect pic! We had lots of fun even though the temperature is kept very warm and the space was crowded. Clearly, everyone had the same rainy-day activity planned. My only complaint comes from when I asked about re-entry. I was told that we could leave the conservatory, but not the building. We wanted to visit the cafe and grab a bite to eat or something to drink and perhaps return once the crowd had thinned out a bit, but that is not permitted. We were told that we could step out to cool down in the gift shop or lobby area and then return through the same entrance that we used when we arrived. The volunteer got on her walkie to tell someone that we'd be coming back in, so I'm not even sure that this is normally permitted. Overall, it was a fun and new experience for us. The staff was kind and the conservatory is beautiful. There's also a botanical garden and at least one beehive there, but we didn't get to explore the outdoor areas due to the rain.
