My husband and I have been taking our time remodeling our home and it was finally time to tackle…read morethe master bathroom. We wanted to make our shower bigger and replace our built-in tub for a stand alone tub. We contacted 3 companies for an estimate. One contractor flaked and called the morning of the appointment saying he couldn't make it. He suggested we do a zoom consultation. When I asked how he would get the measurements, he said it was "just" a bathroom and he didn't intend on doing sketches anyways. His condescension made me cancel everything with him. The second contractors was nice, but had a high estimate, then suggested we purchase low end materials to save on the cost. He gave us the estimate right away, then pressured us to accept it right then. He offered a $1K discount if we agreed before he left, but what's $1K on a $32K price tag,so we told him we had 1 more contractor to meet with. And then there was Mr. Luis. He came in with a smile, removed his shoes and actually listened to all my concerns about my current bathroom and my dreams about my future one. He took his measurements and then repeated back the things I said I really wanted. There was no pressure and he said he would contact me in a few days with an estimate. It took him about 4 days to get back to me. Not only was his estimate significantly less, but it also came with a computer generated rendition of my bathroom space from multiple angles. I had sent him some tile patterns I liked, and he had them in the image, so I could really visualize my new bathroom. He did the rendition 2 more times with different tile patterns I sent him to help me choose the one I really liked. I also want to note that he could've easily charged more because I told him I thought it was going to cost $40K when he came to do the estimate, but he still gave me his honest price. We set a date for work to start after I paid a 33% deposit. His team, led by Mr. Wilson, were punctual and really respected my home. They draped wherever they needed to walk and they walled off my bedroom with plastic so dust and debris wouldn't get all over my living space. Mr. Wilson answered all my questions and kept me updated on everything being done each day. He assisted me in buying some of my products. His team kept everything very tidy when they left each day. He was a dream from start to finish. The 2nd deposit was due when the tile install began. Mr. Carlos did all of the tiling himself. He gave his professional opinion about the tile I chose for the shower floor, which led me to use the same tile as the shower walls and honestly, I like it better. The bathroom was completed in 2 weeks. The last deposit is due upon completion. When all the work was done, they polished and cleaned the entire bathroom AND several surfaces in my bedroom. They wiped down and dusted the TV stand and fireplace (both in the sitting area outside of the bathroom). They had only gotten a small amount of dust on them from the construction, so I just planned to dust when they were finished, but they did it for me without me asking. They also wiped down the bannister as they exited. As a mom of 3 kids under 5, I appreciated that more than they know. I've had people work in my house before who were neat, but I have never had a team clean up after themselves as thoroughly as this one. I'd also like to mention his office manager, Ms. Gigi, handled the administrative side seamlessly. She also answered all of my emails promptly. I absolutely LOVE my new bathroom and I will definitely use them for projects in the future. Anyone looking for honest and skillful contractors should use this company.

I had an excellent experience with H&C Construction on my kitchen remodel. From start to finish,…read moretheir communication, project management, quality of work, and ability to stay on schedule were outstanding. H&C was not the least expensive quote I received, but they also weren't the most expensive. In my experience, the value they delivered more than justified the investment. One of the things I found particularly valuable was the project management app they use. It made it easy to manage the project from end to end, stay informed, review decisions, and keep everything organized in one place. The design phase did take some time, but it was time very well spent. Once we finalized the design, everything moved at a great pace, and the execution was smooth and well coordinated. This was actually my second project with H&C Construction this year, and I am once again very pleased with the results. The fact that I chose to work with them a second time says a lot about my confidence in their team and the quality of their work. I would highly recommend H&C Construction to anyone considering a kitchen remodel. They are professional, organized, communicative, and committed to delivering quality work--and they made what can be a stressful process feel very well managed.

I did not have a good experience at all with this company. First, they changed project managers on…read moreme just before they came out to do that work without explanation. When the work started, they moved at a glacier pace with erratic attendance. There were days they did not show up at all, other days they would show up unexpectedly at 7am, and leave at 10am. This was never communicated with me. Next, mistakes started happening. They painted the walls the wrong color. They put up the shower door on the wrong side. They also put up the window blind backwards so I couldn't reach or use the rod to open and close it. After the shower door went up backwards, the project manager fired the workers, but the had no one to finish the work. When they finally came back to fix the shower tiles wrecked when the door went up on the wrong side, they didn't align the replacement tile patterns with each other so the pattern is disjointed and doesn't line up at all. The project manager told me it's not supposed to line up!? After complaining about it 3 times, they finally offered to replace the tiles. But they stalled on ordering them and now it's out of stock. There are also other problems - the shower faucets are not properly secured to the shower walls, the vanity light is separating from the wall and the light switch fixture is also separating from the wall. The floor tile is irregular with grout lines sometimes thick in places, other times nonexistent. Currently, they are not returning my calls or texts. I've even reached out to the owner who came out and promised to fix everything, but commented that I was overly concerned with "small" details. Now he has not returned my calls or texts about when he will come to fix things. Maybe I am concerned with details but I'd think that is common when paying 20k to have a bathroom redone according to an approved plan. At the very least, I expected that shower tile patterns would match up and that things would be well grouted or secured in shower and on walls. This was my first renovation in my first home and I'm so disappointed in how it turned out and how I was treated by the team. Also, this 2 week project took 5 and 1/2 weeks to get to where it is now. Overall the project was done carelessly with no attention to detail and with no acceptance of their mistakes and no attempt to repair the problems identified. I see they have had good reviews in the past, but my project did not go well at all. I would definitely recommend choosing another company. When I first complained they asked me not to write a bad review and I said that along as everything was fixed we had a deal. Nothing has been fixed and they are not communicating with me. I know have to either pay another company more money to fix their mistakes or take legal action to resolve the simple issues that could be easily fixed. If detail and having a project done to your liking is important I would not recommend H&C at all.

I fired this company. Based on my experience, I cannot ever recommend them…read more One of my biggest concerns involved the flooring. The understanding was that the existing wood flooring would be removed so the new tile assembly would be installed over the subfloor. Instead, the existing wood floor remained in place and cement backer board and tile were installed over it. When I questioned this, I was told it was installed on the subfloor, this is not true. Then they told me that the original hardwood floor was the subfloor, this is also not true. I also experienced multiple issues with the tile installation. A cracked tile was installed even though I had replacement tiles available. When I raised the issue, they blamed me for not physically handing the installer the tiles because they didnt know where they were located. Which is ridiculous considering they were installing the tiles and know exactly where they are located. Later, additional tiles were damaged with a large circular cut that required further replacement. The checkerboard tile pattern was also installed incorrectly during part of the project. The wallpaper installation was another major concern. The wallpaper pattern was not aligned between panels. After I pointed this out, I was told the installers were not experienced with wallpaper installation and normally performed other types of work. The wallpaper was eventually removed, but I was informed that I would need to purchase replacement wallpaper because the original material had been discarded. They dumped their bucket of materials into my garden, caught on my security camera. During the entire process, I repeatably dismissed by rude workers and disappointed by what I viewed as repeated workmanship issues, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when I raised concerns. After I informed the company that I wished to end the project, the work area was left with construction debris and dust that I had to clean myself. They left all of the demo garbage in my garage and in my garden. If you meet either Gal, Tal (Tyler) or Priscilla Winters, I would personally recommend to run away. This review reflects my personal experience with this project.

I had been watching it limp along the last 3 years and my home warranty company has sent out at least 5 different companies that each deserve their own separate ring at the circus... they've never repaired anything and we have been using YouTube to DIY the necessary repairs until now. The big 3 in this area won't even touch the system. The cast iron tub finally cracked and it was beyond repair back in March. The home warranty company could not find anyone to fix it. I finally found three companies that claimed to know anything about steam systems in July and got quotes from each. The take away right now is that I could spot someone that knows what they're doing with a steam system before they cross over the threshold. Yitzi does! It took a while to locate the right parts and get the people scheduled, but I can finally say I have a working system. I believe they would have installed it faster if I needed them to, but I was trying to be conscientious of their schedule and the weather (I didn't NEED a boiler in July...) This was a multiple day job. The old system was a monster and the new system is not much smaller. They also had to change out some other equipment because the entire system was over 40 years old. They have been all over my house and crap needed to be moved everywhere. They broke the job down into pieces that were manageable and would be the least disruptive to my life. Do I still need to dust the house after they leave? Yes. They pulled a 40 year old unit the size of a car out of my basement, dust is in the air and everywhere. It would be unreasonable to think they would catch everything. But they spread out construction paper on the floors, swept and wiped down on all surfaces when they left. They cleaned up each day (even when I told them they didn't need to). Its a small business so I didnt expect an immediate call back, but they have been responsive to calls at the end of each day. The entire team has been super polite. Again, I've seen quotes for this work from multiple companies. They were very reasonably priced. They were not as cheap as the companies the Home Warranty place sent (but one company never showed up and the other I wouldn't trust to babysit a Barbie doll, so....) I feel as though the quality of work performed was top notch for the price and I would hire them again in a heart beat. I wish they worked on AC systems as well, but I will certainly use them for any plumbing/heat system needs. I'm also making sure the number for their business goes with the house if I ever sell it, they were a great find!
