When we were first moved here last summer everyone told us we had just missed the greatest Addison event (aside from Oktoberfest) so we were so excited to enjoy our first Taste of Addison. We were quite impressed with the vast array of restaurants who offered delicious samplings from their menu. It was such a perfect opportunity to try places that we had been meaning to eat at and decide if we actually wanted to venture to their location. The pricing was $5 per person before 5pm and $15 after. Beer and wine ranged from $3-$5 and food was anywhere from $2-$7. Luckily we had free tickets that enabled us to enter the beer tent where beer and wine were free. We also got some free food tickets which was wonderful. Don't know how I would have felt about the night if we had to pay for everything. They had live bands throughout the day, cooking demonstrations, a book read for kids, and some basketball challenges. The only one we enjoyed was the live music on the main stage. Plenty of seating on the grass to enjoy the music and people watching. read more

They made me throw out a bottle of water at the entrance. Was a fairly hot day. I understand no outside food and drink, but water is just plain stupid. Figure it must have been a miscommunication, but unacceptable. What's next? Breast milk? read more

I haven't been to this event in many years, but I'm really glad I went this time. The concert lineup was great, and there was quite the crowd. Mrs. B and I got to sample some really good ice cream, too. read more

Our newest adventure this weekend was experiencing "Taste of Addison." I have always wanted to try one of these "Taste of's", and when I heard about the upcoming Addison event, we marked it on our calendar. We did some research and found out it was much cheaper to go during the day- so Saturday afternoon it was. We arrived at Addison Circle to find fair rides, booths of all kinds, and finally what we had been waiting for... all of the food booths! We had printed out the restaurant list and all of the menu offerings the night before to very carefully devise a plan. There were around 70 restaurants there to pick from so you can imagine how overwhelming that could be. The menu prices ranged from a $2- $8. We ended up at Texas de Brazil first and ordered the sampling of steak, sausage, and bacon wrapped chicken. O.M.G.... one day I HAVE to go to this place. The meat was so tender and so flavorful. Amaaaaazing. Next stop, BJ's for some pizza. Jared, my husband, is the pizza lover, but my few bites were very satisfying. On our way to "The Londoner", Jared spotted "Wild Bills Olde Fashioned Soda Pop Co." We quickly found out that it was $12 bucks for a drink, despite the cool keepsake mug and unlimited refills, Jared opted to just sample all the flavors- for free. ha. His favorites were rocky mountain root beer, vintage vanilla cream, and gatling gun grape. A great booth, but we can't seem to figure out if and where this place is actually located. Strange. We finally made it over to The Londoner for some fish and chips. I have been craving some fried catfish (yes I'm a country girl at heart) lately and decided it was time to get my fix. They were okay, but would have been nice to have a hush puppy with that basket. Ziziki's Taverna offered us a lamb gyro and...ummm....WOW. I have a high standard for gyro's after having one at Niko Niko's in Houston (I dare anyone to find a better gyro than the one there). However, Ziziki's gyro just entered the race. The pita was perfectly seasoned, the lamb tender, the tzatziki sauce consistency impressive. Yes, I will be visiting the actual restaurant very soon! Our last stop was Henry's homemade ice cream. We sampled the black raspberry and, of course, cinnamon. Though very melty (it was 93 degrees out), the flavors were good. We definitely enjoyed the experience and have some new restaurants bookmarked to hit up! If you've never done a "Taste of.." event, I definitely recommend it. Sooo disappointing. Why do I have to pay to get in?? There was not enough entertainment for the entrance charge. I had to pay 3-9 dollars for one hand full of food. It was not cheap for that small amount of food. I will never visit again. read more

I enoyed 'The Taste of Addison' over the weekend. Food was great, drinks was great! There was a great country and western band playing on Saturday 4got the name :( but they were awesome!! read more

A really fun event with a huge variety of food. The concert lineups used to be better though.

I didn't like the way the festival was run. The festival is an expensive affair. To save a few bucks, you need to get in before 5pm and its vey hot till 7pm. Hence it was more of a drinking event than food tasting. Drinks and food are not cheap. They are sold in disposables with little thought to protecting the environment. There are not many recyclable bins. I won't recommend going for this next year unless they commit to running it as a "Zero Waste Event" with proper waste diversion bins like how Earth Day was run. read more

good times indeed but try to purchase tix off the park......before 5pm it's $5/person but after 5pm b/c concert etc it's $15.....we were already there and didn't want to leave again we paid the $30 entrance....and quickly I was reminded why it's worth it....so much food from fair like funnel cakes, corn dogs....to all of the awesome restaurants in Addison, TX de brazil had this sirloin plate w/ bread....3 pieces of 2oz-ish sirlon steak making it pretty much a 6oz sirloin steak w/ a bread for only $7.......and we had mango fried rice w/ chicken at Thai Chow....it was delish!!! and many many many fajitas, tacos, ribs, sliders, etc later....also cold margaritas and beers.....we all sat on the grass and listen to the concert then walked toward addison circle where there are various flea market like shops .... this was indeed a good place to hang out, test food, etc. good times!!! read more

The only positive think I can say about Nate's is the service is excellent. The food is average at best.

Craft brewers in Dallas and North Texas have worked hard to play catch up and get some great local beers out there.....but you won't find ANY decent beers at Taste Addison. It may be a reconstituted food festival but by no means is it well suited for beer lovers. Thank heavens the Sherlock's booth had Lakewood Lager and there was some Karbach, otherwise it was all tightly controlled by one grouchy distributor. Ziegenbock and Shock Top are not craft! So glad I went Sunday and skipped the heavy admission fee! read more

Another festival that the town of Addison uses to burn up all the money they collect from all the taxes paid by corporations in Addison, so that when the Federal government comes around, the money is gone (so I have heard). Addison is a rich town with not many residents, so the amenities are awesome, and the festivals are great. This is one example. read more
