Beans were awful, coleslaw tasted spoiled, ribs were delicious, bathroom was awful, Food was out quick.

I had never heard of this place and was very reluctant to try it. Good bbq joints are few and far between. I was pleasantly surprised!!! I had a two meat combo with spare ribs and brisket. This meat was so fresh and delicious and seasoned to perfection. I don't usually get brisket out but this brisket just melted in my mouth. The ribs were seasoned and tender. All three sauces were delicious. As for the sides the mac and cheese was tasty, cole slaw had corn and cheese delicious. We also had the chic pea salad which I loved. I didn't care for the green beans. They were not terrible just different. Instead of tasting smoked meat there was too much smoked paprika that seemed it was sauteed in thegreen beans and lot of it, which gave it a unique flavor profile. They were seasoned a little too but that paprika just overpowered everything it was not to my liking. My daughter got chili which she said tasted good but too much tomatoes not enough meat and it was more like a soup. We also didn't care for the desserts. She didn't like her peach cobbler nor was I crazy about the sweet potato pound cake, which was ok but I wouldn't get it again. I would like to see greens added to the menu, a spicy sauce option maybe vinegar based and an option to have sauce on the ribs and not on the side. I have tried to give this place a chance since they opened. They are not consistent in the way that they prepare their entrees. I stopped buying the ribs because they were tough and the amount of bones was different each time we ordered. They don't always have what's on the menu. I really enjoyed the salmon salad the first time I ordered it and it has not been the same since that time. I ordered it in 4 other occasions and it was different each time! I kept going back hoping things would get better since they were a new restaurant but I am done! I can't keep spending my money to get sub par food! My husband bought a salmon salad the other day and it didn't have one lettuce leaf in it! They it with the left over sprouts that are in the spring mix bag of lettuce minus the lettuce lor spinach leaves. That was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and TRIFLIN!! read more

We had this for the first time a few days ago and again tonight. The staff/owners are great and very pleasant. Hubby loved it both times we have had it. Tonight was great too. My burger was finally cooked well done (burnt) like I like them. The first time it was barely cooked on one side and only cooked a little more on the other. The inside looked raw and when I took it off the bun to cook it more there was a large area of blood on the bun. I ended up cooking that one because it was so rare I would not have given it to my dogs until it was cooked more. We all have an off day so just assuming that was the case with the first order. Service was great, variety of BBQ sauces was good, I understand they just opened as a business so I will give them another chance to redeem themselves. As a BBQ enthusiast I can't let the amount of FAT on the brisket slide. There was more fat than meat. There was no smoke ring on the brisket and tasted like it was not cooked on a smoker hence the amount of fat that didn't rendering down. I was excited to have a BBQ spot right up the street from me. Today I was in the mood for bbq and decided to place a takeout order, I had to call three times until I finally got a hold of someone. I placed an order, picked it up and then bought it over my mother in law's house to let her have a try. Once we opened the container we were both not satisfied. The smoked sausage looked like a hot dog and tasted like it, the brisket appeared to have a lot of fat and unlike the name of the business, I tasted no smoke whatsoever. The Mac n cheese was dry and was subpar, the green beans tasted like it was canned with onions added. The two meat specials were $4 extra because I added brisket and after eating it, the $4 is extremely excessive. The three bbq sauces I received were good though. Never open! Always closed during business hours. And there's trash all over in the outside of the building.

As of Thursday 2/2, the sign on the door said they were open on Thursday, but they were closed. I actually managed to find them open once and the food was good. However, if I can never find them open then I don't see why I should keep trying. Somebody needs to get these people on the ball and teach them good business practices--like "be open when you say you're open"! read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This was my first and last time. I was happy to see a new place and when I entered I was excited to see African American ownership but that quickly dissipated as I saw the food. It taste just like it looks. All the disgusting bake beans was in the bottom of the bag, the chicken is dryer than Arizona in July and the burnt mac and cheese taste like it was made with new focus hope cheese that doesn't melt. I'm not a fan of wasting food but it went directly to the garbage. $14 down the drain. I'm glad I didn't spend $26 for 1 bone of beef rib. The container looks like a back yard barbecue from your Auntie house. The inside needs some sprucing up. I still can't understand why the 2 slices of white bread? We stopped in yesterday before the storm. Only customers at that time, butbit was towards closing on a Sunday. What a nice place to find close to home. The meats were absolutely delicious. The sides were really tasty and fresh and the cornbread special? Delicious. (I already complained that they will only have it on Sundays! ) The self-serve kind of presentation was kind of misleading, because there was very little for us to get ourselves. My husband and I picked up carry out yesterday evening. We were going to dine in but I was instantly put off by all of the trash outside on the ground and in the landscaping. As a new business I would think you would want to leave a better impression on the community. I still wanted to try the food though so we got carry out. The food was pretty good. We stopped in tonight and wow. Great and the fastest service, which nowadays is impossible. The ribs and the chicken had the tastiest rub on them. I personally thought they were better than Famous Daves. The chicken could not have been more tender. The chef came out and greeted us as we were leaving. Faygo was the soft drink they had and it was a change and a good one to us. Definitely worth the money. We will definitely go back. read more
