Steak Sizzle Bowl
Alexis A.

Big Moe's was a great experience! We ordered in-person for take out and the food was ready within a reasonable time (~20 minutes). It looked like a many patrons ordered online for takeout as there was a flood of people picking up around the time our food was done. I was trying to be a healthy girl with my Michigan Salad and was so surprised that the flavor was still very much there! And that shrimp helping??? Let's just say my family was jealous of my not so little salad! I also tried the chicken sizzle and steak sizzle and both were super flavorful and delicious! I'm not a local, just visiting, but if I was, I would definitely make it a point to try this place out. Their storefront was clean, small, and probably best seats parties no larger than 6 people. But that doesn't mean you should try to get erbody in there to try their food!! I wish we had one of these in DC! I'd be a regular!!

Tried this place friday for the first time. I'll be back if im in the neighborhood. It was pretty darn good. Wish they gave chicken or steak slices or cubes/diced. Instead they give you shredded chicken and Philly style thin steak. They could use a lil more sauce also. Looks good until you stir it up lol. I shared the chicken sizzle and steak sizzle with my partner. 1 is enough for 2 ppl in my opinion. The eggs rolls were really great but i think ot shouldn't go in a foam box. Kinda taste like plastic or the box was melted on the food from it being so fresh and hot. Give this place a try!

BBQ Chicken Egg Rolls

I was in the area for work and decided to try something local because that's my favorite thing to do. I had the bbq chicken egg rolls. I loved the avocado Mayo the other sauce was a bit too spicy for me but it had good flavor too. The egg rolls weren't what I expected but in the best possible way. They were crispy and flavorful and had lots of colors which made it visually appealing too. I would definitely go back. For a small business they seemed to be very busy too lots of people coming and going! Check out one of their locations if you get the chance.

Loaded Smoked Brisket Fries

Omg! The loaded smoked brisket fries! I've been thinking about them for the past few weeks. I have to return, but my waistline does not want me to ever have them again. Omg! The loaded smoked brisket fries! There's nothing more to say.

Shrimp Sizzle and Steak Sizzle

Food was delicious! Unique flavors unlike any place else. Lots of tasty sauce choices to customize your meal to your liking. My daughter had the chicken fingers, not pictured, and they were way better than your average chicken fingers. They seemed freshly breaded, not frozen. Staff was very friendly especially Ali who was very helpful for our first time there. Highly recommend!

Almond chicken sandwich
Adrienne A.

A local photographer posted a picture of the new almond chicken sandwich at Big Moe's and I immediately thought that this was someplace I needed to try. First, this review requires a little history of almond chicken. This is not almond chicken like a Chinese restaurant would serve, it's a phenomenon that has been seen at many Dearborn area restaurants over the years. I first encountered it at LA Bistro on Michigan Ave. It's a chicken breast cutlet pan fried to a nice golden brown with a breading that's includes almond slices and then it's covered in a cream sauce - usually with sun-dried tomatoes. It's yummy - enough said. Big Moe's sells almond chicken as an entree but just added the sandwich version in the last week. I haven't seen a sandwich version anywhere else but what a brilliant concept! It was beautifully plated on a brioche bun with some bright pink pickled radish for color and lots of cream sauce poured on top of the perfectly prepared chicken. Although this is a counter service style restaurant, more like a sub sandwich shop, the plating was better than many table service restaurants. And it tasted great too, but the sauce was a bit bland and needed some more flavor in my opinion. It could benefit from some salt, spices, and sun dried tomatoes like other almond chickens. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken egg rolls to share. The serving was plentiful and delicious and once again beautifully plated. The rolls were served with two homemade sauces - avocado mayo (my favorite) and a chipotle sauce. Note: if you're also getting fries, keep the sauces for dipping. I actually might consider getting the egg rolls as an entree on a future trip. They were delicious and unusual. My dining companions also ordered a large philly cheese steak to split - it was HUGE! Definitely more than enough for two to split. They upgraded to a combo with Truffle Parmesan fries and a can of pop. They both enjoyed the sandwich a lot and particularly commented that they liked the bread. The fries were very nicely prepared and covered with lots of yummy Parmesan. For my drink, I ordered the strawberry basil blender/smoothie. It was very refreshing and full of fresh strawberries - sometimes strawberry smoothies taste more like banana, but this one was definitely mostly strawberry. I would for sure order it again and I don't usually spend money on drinks. Speaking of drinks, I did notice they offer mostly Pepsi products - I prefer Coke products myself and wish they offered both. Prices seemed pretty reasonable and service was very friendly. Please note, the parking lot is small and the place is a little hard to spot. I expected to see Big Moe's in large letters but there's more of a graphic on the sign with small letters. So if you can find it, please stop by and give it a try. The menu is filled with lots of great sounding and interesting takes on sandwiches, salads and entrees. I look forward to going back and trying more of the menu.j

Stoped in for a quick bite for dinner. We got the smoked bbq chicken and the Korean bbq brisket sandwich and everything was very tasty. The coleslaw and Mac and cheese were so yummy. The service was quick and very friendly. I would definitely go back! Update: Came back a few times and let me tell u how this place just keeps getting better and better. We got the maple almond chicken which was phenomenal and my husband got the philly cheese steak sub which he thoroughly enjoyed. I don't think we have even been disappointed coming here and portion sizes are very generous and oh so delicious! Probably one of our favorite small joints for a quick dinner!

chicken sizzle bowl

I love the food here, they're always prompt with service and carry out orders and have been pretty consistent as well. I do have to say that the parking can be real tough, it's definitely very tight and I got stuck trying to get out once and had to reverse my entire way out, not ideal for 2 way incoming traffic but, apart from that, service, food and time is all excellent and I order things quiet often. The chicken sizzle bowl with ranch and bambam shrimp are to die for, excellent combos and very satisfying. Portions are so generous too. The San Francisco sub, asian wings and jalapeño poppers were great as well and I can't wait to try more!

Parmesan fries
De Saltino D.

Service was quick, food was not good, I had the Parmesan fries which were overcooked and hard as a rock. I also had the shrimp sizzle which is a horrible combination of shrimp, rice and salad in one bowl. The entire meal was horrible. I paid $14 for the shrimp sizzle and $6 for the burnt/overcooked Parmesan fries for an overall $20

Hours
Cassidy C.

Hours are incorrect, they are closed on Sundays. Bummer, it looks like a tasty menu and I was looking forward to trying it.

Chipotle chicken wrap
Kawthar A.

I had a short lunch break and ordered by phone, i arrived early and the guy there was very accommodating, he made sure to get my food to me earlier. I had the chipotle chicken wrap, which came in a regular pita bread. The wrap itself was filling, slightly spicy, and good for a quick lunch. It was not my favorite chicken shawarma and they can improve that by adding more veggies or sauce. I feel like their other foods would better meet my expectations. -update: tried other dishes here and they were great! Definitely worth returning here again.

The confirmation text didn't come through until we were already inside, which might be bad reception, but it almost cost us the table. Then they sat us right across from the back kitchen entrance. Banging, yelling, and an open doorway into the kitchen. Off-putting, especially with better seating clearly open. The food keeps the rating up. I did not expect a wings place, but the smoked wings were my favorite, right amount of crispy with good smoke. The sauce list is long and I couldn't pick a favorite. The ranch tasted house-made and it was amazing. The chikin soho was the other standout. Honey ginger glaze, chili dijon slaw, and pickles that all work together. Misses: the brisket nachos needed fresh guac and actual brisket, since there was barely any. The 6 cheese mac was fine but not worth ordering again. Prices were right for what it is, a bistro concept. It's in Wayne, which surprised me since I didn't know spots like this existed out here. Wide enough menu that I'll be back. Next time I'm speaking up about the seating.

During that call, the hostess assured us that we would not be charged the $50 cancellation charge. As it turned out, we were able to come in that same evening and dined at the restaurant, first enjoying drinks in front of the fireplace then being serviced by our favorite waiter, Paul. Despite this, a $300 cancellation fee was later charged to our card. When I contacted the restaurant to resolve the issue, the matter was escalated to management. The response focused solely on reiterating the OpenTable cancellation policy, without addressing the specific circumstances: we called in advance, were told we would not be charged, and ultimately honored the reservation by dining that evening. We have also stayed at the hotel and previously rented the private dining room, so this was not a one-time visit. That history made the interaction particularly disappointing. Policies are important, but so is discretion and guest communication. In this instance, the service experience did not reflect the level of hospitality one would expect. I hope this feedback encourages a review of how guest concerns are handled moving forward.

Absolutely amazing, would definitely get it again Peach Cobbler Sticky Bun - Also 10/10, the cinnamon roll itself was still soft, and the peach cobbler on top was expertly executed.... If I lived in MI I would be BIG BIG from these, they are out standing. Banana Pudding was also really good (to be fair banana pudding is my favorite desert so I've had quite a bit and I'm pretty hard on them) - you can tell it is all made from scratch, the pudding itself is thick, the flavor is there, little heavy on the whipped cream that's mixed in with it, though also good flavors and can tell its home made as well; it was good - but not my favorite. Aside from the food I had their Old School Margarita and their Deadwood Old Fashioned. The Margarita was just OK in my opinion. Basis of the drink was 1800 tequila which I am not a fan of and Cointreau. Seemed to lack the Agave Forward notes I look for and lime component was not as bright as I like it either. However, the Deadwood Old Fashioned with the Woodford Reserve Bourbon was outstanding and definately one of the better made ones in the area. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance about it with rustic western vibe which I really like. There is also a large outdoor dining area to take advantage of the nicer days which is something to consider if that is what you are looking for. Relative to staff, they are so friendly and outgoing with excellent follow up throughout the meal and clearly a strength of this business. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.
