I have been nothing but calm and professional a sincere apology would have been huge but instead have been blocked on all forms of social media, and phone number. As someone who is also in the service industry I am the first to be understanding but this is inexcusable. Sharing my experience so another bride doesn't have to go through the same thing. Colton and I hired DA Productions DJ & Lighting for our wedding. Following our event I reached out to David (See Message Below) to express my thoughts and have been completely ignored. As Brides we spend so many hours thinking, and planning and I would hate to have someone else have a similar experience. I wasn't expecting money back, or to change the outcome but a sincere apology would have gone a long way. "Hi David, I wanted to reach out following our event last night. We are extremely disappointed with our investment and unhappy with the service you provided. It began with you not being able to be located 5 minutes prior to our ceremony to mic up our officiant, and then entering the home numerous times to get things without asking. Had this been a traditional venue those things would have not been okay you would've gone to the commons areas along with others. After spending hours perfectly curating the music it was truly disappointing, when you played the wrong song for my dad and I to walk down the aisle. To end the night you were found sleeping in your car on multiple occasions, and then taking nearly 2 hours to clean up. I do not feel like as the bride, and paying customer I should have to be clear that just because it is a family friends home that venue rules still apply. Your behavior and lack of professionalism would have not been acceptable at any venue."

We got married at St. Paul's Church in Port Gamble on October 29, 2016. We used the church as our…read moreceremony site only. The church was absolutely beautiful and the perfect size our wedding. I was a little worried in the beginning because we invited 190 people and the church only seats 150 people - it ended up working out though because we only had about 140 guests come to the wedding. We received lots of compliments on the church and people kept asking us how we found it. The staff were great to work with. We lived about 2 hours away from the venue so most of our communication was over email. When we decided to make a trip up there to meet with our reception site, the staff at Port Gamble Weddings were very accommodating to let us into the church and take some pics for our florist. It was really nice because the venue provided a day of coordinator to help with timing and that kind of stuff. Eric Ayala was our day of coordinator and I must say, he was a calming presence on what can be a very stressful day. He was so kind, calm and professional. He was also there at the rehearsal the day before and was just as kind then. I would definitely recommend this church to anyone looking for a nice church without all of the hassle of using other churches.

Communication with the owner of the company was terrible before the event, she didn't show up for meetings with zero communication that something was going on, and when I did have a question about anything it took her a week or more to respond back to emails. Before the wedding we agreed on having a change over occur from the ceremony set up a to the reception set up during cocktail hour, which started at 5:30. She said it would only take about 20 minutes and when it went a little longer she tried to take her crew and leave before the reception setup was complete at 6pm. Which would leave my bridal party to do the job instead of the person I was paying to complete it. Another thing was the servers she brought in for the night. We paid for 2 servers at $30 an hour to prep the food, bus tables, scrape the dishes, and do a complete clean up at the end of the night. The servers were terrible. My bridal party set up all of the food, they didn't even unwrap the catering dishes (we just used a restaurant for food) when my husband and I went to get our food first in front of everyone, and beverages were constantly out when they should have been there to refill things. My guests kept asking us who was in charge of it because it happened multiple times. As far as I know the end of the night was fine (which is the only reason why I would give them 2 stars) but this company was so unprofessional and the last thing I should have been worrying about on my wedding day.

She went above and beyond the "day of" role and was the best money we spent on our wedding. We communicated frequently the months leading up to the wedding, she ran our ceremony rehearsal the night before, and she worked a 15+ hour day the day of the wedding making sure everything was just how I envisioned it. She also provided a wedding day timeline and contacted vendors for me, among many other tasks I don't have room to list here. I was a type-A (read, anal) bride with a very clear vision and a tiny budget by Seattle standards ($15,000). Kirstie was extremely professional, prompt, and easy to work with before the wedding and during. Although she was planning many weddings at one time, she made me feel like mine was the only one. I picked out several of my vendors myself becuase I knew exactly what I wanted, but Kirstie gave suggestions for the ones I didn't have, and they were all amazing! She has great connections. The set-up for my wedding was tough. There is nothing at Golden Gardens so everything had to be brought in and set up the day of (and taken down and cleaned, which Kirstie did). I also had a lot of DIY details that I wanted arranged a very specific way. Kirstie and her crew worked a crazy, long day arranging flowers, setting up tables, hanging decor, getting everyone in order, etc. Your wedding day is such a blur that you need to spend time enjoying your guests, your new spouse, and just enjoying the moment. You don't want to worry about decor, music, food, etc. You will not be disappointed with Kirstie - she can do as much or as little as you want and need depending on your budget and vision.

At first, I didn't think I needed a day-of-coordinator, as I was just looking for a setup crew, but I'm so glad Kayla offered her services for a full-day. It's hard getting started in the wedding business and it's hard getting married in a budget, as so much of it revolves around big money. It's stressful and that's why I was suggested by many people that investing in a day-of coordinator is crucial. Working Pressed Peony into our tight wedding budget was one of the best decisions that I almost didn't make. It's not a cookie-cutter deal like a lot of wedding vendors, which gave us flexibility -- as our wedding was not traditional or typical. Some things didn't pan out that wasn't anyone's fault besides not having enough time to prepare, but having a crew that made sure the most important things were in place without having to be there every step of the way was priceless. For a small team, Pressed Peony Events can handle a lot and showed they cared more than just getting paid. I don't know what the future holds as far as growth for them, but as a small team, I highly recommend them to any couple planning a "smaller" budget wedding. Kayla and her friend Markus has put huge effort, hard work, thoughtfulness and care to make our reception such a grand event. Markus proactively went to the stores to buy stuffs when we were running out of those. Thet went above and beyond the contract responsibilities- eg: when our server didn't show up, they stepped in to fill in server duties. My husband and I would highly recommend Pressed Peony Events.
