I've been to Wine and Design a few times now and throughly enjoy the experience every time I go! The projects are always a blast to do and letting creativity flow with guidance is extremely helpful. The instructors really help you, through direction and ideas, to create the design of your dreams. I've also ordered a charcuterie board from their affiliate next door (Dishes by Rachel) and having being able to snack, drink and create really is the best night ever see for yourself! This place has been on my radar for so long and I was so excited when a friend decided it was how she wanted to spend her birthday. This is not in downtown Snohomish which may have lead to some of my initial reluctance and leaving it on my to do list for so long. This place has excellent parking and a few places to eat nearby if you need a meal before or after. They also sell a variety of beverages, including non alcohol and more than just wine. They offer much more than just your regular sip and paint classes, but those look fun too. I really like that they have such a variety, be sure to check the schedule to see what is coming up. Do be aware that things sell out frequently. I am thinking about checking out a chunky blanket class next and I can't wait to have more fun with resin. Just being in the studio is a great way to get inspired for additional classes to take. It's great with a group as everyone can pay separately and you can all still meet up to share a table. No having to stress if not everyone is able to commit and pay right away. Plus there is plenty of time to catch up before class or during the quiet times while you are working on your project. Everyone can go at their own pace and be as creative as they care to be. The instructor was super helpful. My friends were able to bring in some of their own flowers to add to their cutting board. They turned out so amazing, I wish I had pictures of theirs. It is important to note that some projects, like this one, will require someone to come back later and pick everything up. My friend and I came here a couple of weekends ago for the northern lights resin pouring class. We had such an amazing time we've already signed up for another class! We got there about 30 minutes before the class and were the first to arrive. The instructors let us pick our seats and everyone else slowly trickled in. We each ordered a drink from their extensive menu. They also had some snacks available for purchase. The class was so much fun and we are thrilled with how our projects turned out. Everyone's looked amazing and had so much variety. The instructor (McKenna) was great and made it easy to make a masterpiece. I highly recommend this place and plan on coming back for a number of their classes. read more

This is a cute spot and they offer such a wide variety of classes. We did a paint and resin class, which was a lot of fun. The class took longer than the allotted time, which the instructor did give us a heads up about. My painting didn't turn out the way I would have liked but it was still fun. Also note that if you do a resin class, you'll have to go back on a later date to pick up your finished project once it's dry. read more

My friend and I were so excited to attend a workshop at Wine & Design. We both knew that the event would skew white but we both left the class really disappointed with how we were treated and with the quality of the workshop. First, the logistics: I arrived at 5:30 PM, thirty minutes before the 6:00 start. Before sitting down, I asked a staff member whether seating was assigned. They confirmed our table was fine for a party of two, noting it was a table for four and that larger tables were reserved for bigger groups. My friend arrived at 5:45. We settled in, organized our materials, and got started. At 6:01, a group of four (middle-aged white women) arrived late. There were no remaining four-top tables available. Staff had options -- they could have set up stations at the empty large table nearby, or split the group across two available seats at separate tables. Instead, they asked us to move. We were the ones who arrived early. We were the ones who had confirmed our seating. We moved anyway. We were the only two people of color in the room -- the only two non-white guests in a space full of white attendees. We were asked to move twice that evening: once for seating, and once during a demo when I was asked to move to the back -- I had never used a soldering iron before and from my new position couldn't see a single thing that was being demoed. Both times, we were told to make room for others. I can't say with certainty how much race played into these decisions. What I can say is how it felt -- and it felt like we were the easiest people in the room to ask. Beyond the seating situation, the instruction quality was genuinely lacking for a $135 class. There were only two brief demos for the entire group, no table-by-table check-ins, and no meaningful support for first-time solderers. I never successfully attached the legs to my jellyfish. I left my project unfinished on the table and walked out. If you're a person of color considering this class, I'd encourage you to factor in my experience. Had I read a review like this beforehand, I would not have booked. read more

Wine and Design - Not Just Painting! I've done my fair share of painting classes, but Wine and Design totally surprised me--in the best way! As soon as I saw they offered more than just painting, I signed up without hesitation. So far, I've made a charcuterie board and coasters using resin, and I'm officially obsessed. The instructors are awesome--super friendly, patient, and they really take their time showing you the techniques. They also walk around during the class to help out or answer questions, which is great if you're new to resin. One thing to note: resin projects do need to cure for about 48 hours, so you'll need to come back to pick them up. Definitely check their calendar to make sure they're open when you plan to swing by. Another sweet touch--they partner with a local bakery, so you can add a cupcake to your reservation. It's the perfect treat while you let your creativity flow! I participated in the chunky blanket workshop today at Wine and Design. They are located in a cute shopping complex. The instructors were friendly and helpful, and they had a nice selection of yarn colors. They have a pretty good menu of drinks and some snacks. I love my blanket - it looks really nice. TLDR - Do not recommend the chunky blanket workshop. It was expensive and poorly executed. Myself and one friend attended the chunky blanket workshop together. From the start it was not a good experience. The first employee told us to go grab our skeins off the wall. While you are grabbing the colors, another older lady (maybe the owner?) is saying oh you don't have to take these off the wall you can just tell me what color you wanted (clearly not communicating with her team). We proceeded to ask for 5 different colors all of which she either didn't have or only had one skein of. So in the end myself and several other people ended up with colors of blankets we did not want. This is especially disappointing when you put color requests in the form when you purchase the class and it says they have tons of color options online (clearly a lie). No one ever even checked us in to make sure we had actually paid for the class. There were 3 employees there. One who seemed to only serve drinks, one who I did not see do much of anything besides help people pick up other projects from previous days, and then the older lady who had to go around to everyone and show them what to do and help them when they messed up. This was a poor execution. If everytime you have a question you have to raise your hand and keep waiting for one woman to get to you, it is frustrating. I myself am an artsy person. I do all sorts of arts and crafts and even teach art classes and I struggled with this class. I'm not sure if it was because of the teacher or because you are smashed onto a table with 2 other people so you can't roll the blanket out all the way or it falls off the table and causes your blanket to curve and you're constantly trying to readjust and fold over certain parts just to keep going. It was very frustrating and I was tempted to give up and leave several times. The class was 3 hours long with no breaks and after 3 hours only one person had finished and the rest were still working on it or mentioning they will have to finish at home. It was a frustrating, disappointing experience to say the least. The older woman kept saying oh just breathe, oh just keep drinking that's why we are called wine and design. I highly doubt that alcohol would have improved my end product, but perhaps it would have improved my mood. However if you are sober then obviously don't come to this place where the woman will mention keep drinking multiple times. You're not allowed to bring your own drinks in, and at $7 for just a Shirley temple I passed on the alcohol. The class was $135. The skein of material I had was marked as $7.99 meaning if I use 6 skeins of material it is only just under $50 so the actual "instruction" of the class is $85. For $85 I expect more then one person be available to help a whole class of people. I would also expect for $135 an actual blanket. After 6 skeins it made "blanket" the size of a beach towel (smaller then a throw). It would be helpful if she said the tighter you go the smaller your blanket is and the looser you go the more likely it is to fall apart. The person across from me picked up her blanket and also commented on how small it was and right when she picked it up some of it started to fall apart. The "hearts" on the blanket also look more like V's then hearts and her answer to that is to "keep playing with it". Nobody's end product looked like the product picture on the website and was nothing close to the size displayed. So at the end of these awful 3 hours we ended up with one unfinished blanket and one that is a sight for sore eyes, with literal holes in it. The girl across from us said she had attended the resin class and said it was more enjoyable/easier then this blanket workshop, so perhaps the other classes have merit, but I will not be back to find out. Massive disappointment especially when you consider classes sell out weeks in advance so you are looking forward to this class for a while and they have plenty of time to prepare and get the colors you requested. The older lady teaching seemed to be a bit wishy washy with some things. She told us to start with 26 knots but when someone asked if the second row should have 26 or 25 loops she said "oh everyone's is different". Uh it shouldn't be, we are all supposed to be doing the same thing so we should all have the same loops, yes? She also was quite touchy. She touched me several times on the arm or rubbing my back which I do not appreciate from a stranger; it came across as condescending to keep coming around and calling us "honey". So at the end of these awful 3 hours we ended up with one unfinished blanket and one that is a sight for sore eyes, with literal holes in it. Overall, it was an expensive, frustrating, and poorly executed class. A waste of $135, as I will be trashing my blanket or giving it to the dogs. Utterly disappointing. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

I have done so many paint nights and wine and design Snohomish is my favorite. They always have great seasonal options like this adorable Christmas tree truck that lights! My favorite by far and i hope there are more like this next year. One thing I like is all their options. I have done many "cork and canvas" events but truly, I'm not good enough of an artist to paint something I would actually hang in my home. However they do wood signs you can build and oversized chunky blankets... things I would actually decorate with and I love that. Definitely recommend, for a girls night especially! read more

I have done a few paint and sips and really enjoyed this place! Staff were great and offered clear guidance on how to do different techniques to the painting. I also appreciated having the outline being bold and clear. They were great with serving drinks as well as making sure we had "clean" water when we needed to clean our brushes. Our instructor was fun and informative and took time to check in on each of us to offer suggestions, ideas, or encouragement when our paintings were not looking the way we thought they should. I've been getting crafting kits from Wine & Design recently. I made a chunky blanket (recorded) on the Thanksgiving break. Tonight I did a live virtual paint and sip. I also have another paint kit (no live/virtual) for me and one for my daughter as well as a tiered tray kit I will be picking up this week. So fun and none of it takes more than a couple hours...no skill required because believe me I have none! Add-ons include wine and candles from Little Barn Candle Co. Check them out for the Christmas break! I've been waiting to review Wine & Design until I had completed tonight's Live Virtual class. First, I pre-ordered two kits last week...one for tonight's live virtual Gnome and one at home kit (no live/virtual). Both kits came with paint, canvas with sketched design, a picture of the design and a plate for mixing paint. I added on a set of brushes. The live virtual came with Zoom instructions that worked flawlessly. The non-live came with helpful tips. ALSO! When I was picking these kits up, I inquired about a live class the next day. I knew my daughter would love the painting but the session was during her scheduled riding lesson. ON THE SPOT offered to sketch the design for me and put a kit together. I was floored. She absolutely went above and beyond in my books as I would have happily ordered it another time. Angel led our live class tonight and she was wonderful...definitely an artist I would love to have in-person instruction with and I know she could have helped me fine-tune a few areas no problem. HOWEVER, I completed a painting completely on my own (with her instruction) and no friend sitting beside me in studio to help me with my flubs. I had so much fun and it was such a nice break for a couple hours mid-week. I'm super excited to pick up a couple holiday tiered tray kits this weekend...one for me and my girl to make together and one for a very special teacher to our family! read more

Came here for a date night and loved it! Unfortunately, painting isn't really something my husband enjoys, so he won't be back anytime soon (until I make him lol). But I really loved it so much that I scheduled more classes for me and my kiddos! Recently, I took my son to a Parent & Me class on Halloween and had a blast that time as well. The teacher/instructor, Brandon, is really nice. He explains every step in a very easy to understand way that can make anyone at any art level can feel confident in creating their own paintings. They have a simple menu with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options as well as a few snack choices. The simple menu is perfect because the art supplies take up most of your table. And you are kept pretty busy during the class anyways, so no need for more than a drink and a small snack. They are also great at answering any questions you may have. I was able to contact them on Facebook and received quick responses to my many questions. I really love the broad range of painting options. That's why I was able to find something for everyone in my family. I've seen all kinds of themes available from sports and nature to animals and city scenes. And during the holidays they offer even more fun options. I am also seeing kid specific ones available online at the moment. So, if you are too nervous to travel outside the home they do offer many of the same paintings virtually. We are mostly only interested in painting, however they have a nice variety of other arts and craft classes from chunky blankets to those front porch signs and other home décor. A class can be a great gift in itself or taking a class can help you end up with a nice homemade gift for family/friends. It is also a nice activity to do indoors now that it is getting a little cold out. Date nights, parent and me classes, trivia nights, they seem to have it all! Any get together you want to plan can be done here. I believe they also offer private parties for much larger groups or special occasions. Both times I visited were after they reopened with the new COVID safety procedures in effect, which match most restaurants in the area: masks required, unless sitting down and tables/groups are spaced out to allow for social distancing. They welcome all ages, which I love. We homeschool so this is a great way to add art into our curriculum and have one on one time with each of the kiddos. Right now my girls and I already have tickets for two more nights of art fun coming up and plan to order more throughout the year! read more

I took a class here over the weekend and it was so much fun. From someone who has the drawing skills of a 2 year old, I never thought in a million years that I would paint something even half decent. This class was a full house with 2 birthday parties so it was a little loud. The instructor, Amanda was amazing. She gave very clear instructions and was very encouraging. They serve wine, beer and cider here. They have a really great selection and the prices are great at around $5 a glass. The space itself is so cute and they did a really great job of decorating it. I have a feeling this maybe a nice treat on a regular basis for me. read more

Make sure when you sign up for a class to find out if they have done this class before. We took the resin"class". It was their first run through. They were understaffed, and gave little to no direction. They placed a bunch of little plastic cups of resin in front of us and told us it was time Sensitive before it hardened and to just poor it into our mold. That was it for direction! The class also started 40 minutes late because they were not prepared. For the cost this was disappointing and not worth it. They were nice but unapologetic for there lack of direction and organization. We left trying to find the good since this was supposed to be a fun night. But felt let down and with no knowledge of resin pouring. Also, we could hear from the rest of people the frustration while trying to struggle through to make something with resin without any help and feeling rushed. Like the business but they need more help and practice when charging so much and giving a "class". read more

Had a good session with Brandon. He was great and friendly. Jules was assisting that night. They offer drinks and snacks at an additional cost, which is pretty cool. Before our painting session started, Jules came around to our table to take orders. I had ordered a mimosa and asked if I can also order some snacks. She told me she was only taking drinks and will come back for snack orders. Which was fine, I understood. But after she got everyones drinks, our painting session had officially started, and she never came back for our snack order, which was unfortunate, because my group had planned to order some snacks to enjoy our wine and painting. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks or snacks during the whole two hours we were there. I understand its not Brandons job as he was the instructor. But Jules stood around and couldve came around tables to ask for refills. I think they couldve made a lot of money by providing a little bit more service. Also, forgot to mention, when I received my apron, it was full of long hair locks and dust. Please please wash your aprons occasionally. Even though we didnt get snacks nor drink refills, the time spent with Brandon was excellent. He kept engaging with everyone and kept up the pace. Thanks for a good painting session. read more
