Portions are reasonably priced, and the food is cooked to perfection. In the photo, you can see the pork egg rolls, which come as an appetizer. My main dish was Generals Tso's chicken and white rice. I was seated and then forgotten about. I sat for about 15 minutes and they never came back to me even though I tried to wave them down.

Nice and open inside. The food was really good. The hot and sour soup was amazing. They refused however to honor the free Rangoon appetizer for checking in that they had listed on Yelp however which was the reason I started to review them. We will be back but that was disappointing. read more

The food is decent. I just picked up my order and the front was manned by two young boys. Seemingly brothers one was older with facial hair and a long blue sleeves shirt on and the other slightly tanner with no facial hair. Just as I had walked in the older brother had noticed that the younger brother had somehow botched an order which resulted in them no longer having the remaining amount of chocolate they had stocked. He began to freak out over this error in such an unprofessional manner in front of the customers and also said the N-word in front of three black people in the restaurant. The younger brother seemed to keep his cool and understood that the missing chocolate did not call for the older brother's reaction. Any ways I hope this is seen by the restaurant and more importantly that older brother. Word of advice to him: Calm down man, maintain professionalism when at work, and learn how to communicate with your co workers when there is a problem instead of yelling at them in front of others; even if that co worker is your little brother. I went here with a group of friends who suggested it. I love chicken fried rice so that is what I got... and I was not impressed. While it was not bad, it wasn't the best I've ever eaten. The ambiance was not great inside... they had on weird children's YouTube videos for the owners children in the TV while we ate dinner. It wasn't super clean either. I used to not come here that often until Christmas 2023. They changed so much! I like tiny pieces of chicken because I'm weird and this place never had that. Now their chicken pieces are small and so crispy! I love their rice noodles and wonton soup! They also revamped their milk tea/boba selection. 3/2021 My husband and I decided to try this place tonight after reading the reviews and seeing more positive than negative. We did dine in and were not impressed. Out of our whole meal, our appetizer (crab rangoon) was the only thing hot and good. My soup was cold. Our entrees were cold, when we told them that they did take them back and heat them up, but seemed upset about having to do it. The food was just okay. The egg roll was good, but the orange chicken sauce tasted chemically almost burnt and the chicken tasted like frozen tyson chicken nuggets. It was served with brown rice which I personally don't care for and I was expecting white rice... the fried rice tasted bland and was also made with brown rice. The food here is actually really very very good. Unfortunately the service is the worst. Besides Mama Deaux this is the slowest place we've been to in Manhattan. We've been here twice, about 1-2pm both times. Both times the food took about 35 min to get to the table. I'd understand if we had ordered something out of the ordinary. The second time we came they actually forgot to put in 1/5 dishes we ordered and failed to bring the rolls for the Peking duck. So we had eaten all the duck by time the rolls showed up and we just had basically dry tortillas with nothing to put in them. :/ The food tastes awesome though. Very well done. I know that with Chinese food in the US always leaves something left to desire, however this was probably one of the worst Togo Chinese meals I've ever had. The fried orange chicken was soggy, the rice was over cooked and watery and their pork steamed dumplings tasted like they'd been prefrozen and were rubbery. We just ate here and we're very disappointed in how the food and staff has gone downhill. None of the food was fresh. Everything was rubbery or hard as a rock, as if reheated multiple times. Sooooo TASTY! I am a vegan and they have delicious vegetable options here! They have an amazing vegetable rice noodle plate and its HUGE and super tasty. I get it without the eggs. I love how it smells like fish sauce was used and how it doesnt taste greasy or crazy salty. It's super filling The second thing I had was the sesame balls filled with bean paste and those were awesome as well. Even my husbands food he said was the best hes had in Kansas, so I dont know why others dislike it! It's worth the money, we also got their free donuts with our order. We order wonton soup, crab Rangoon, veggie lo mein, porklo mein, and sweet & sour shrimp. DELICIOUS. All of it was so good and came out perfectly cook while piping hot. The restaurant wasn't very busy so our food came out in literally five minutes. Service was polite and quick. Prices are very fair in my opinion. We will be back! Great prices and very tasty food. I appreciated the simplicity of the recipes. It wasn't overly sophisticated or loaded with all kinds of foodie techniques. Ordered some fried rice for $10 and got a huge portion. The Crab Rangoons were really good! The fried rice was a little meh. To greasy for my taste! Other than that it's pretty good!

I like this place. My food was delicious which I ordered fried beef with broccoli if I'm not wrong. The beef texture is juicy and chewy with well seasoning, and it's good to have for dinner. The taste is balanced when having with rice, it's just perfect. The size is again too big for me, and I can't finish it. This place is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in town. Obviously, there's not much demand for more traditional Chinese food here in Kansas, but the special dishes that Tasty China House does serve are excellent. My personal favorite is the braised pork belly with preserved vegetables, as it embodies one of the dishes I miss the most having moved here from the Bay Area. PS. We have gone to Tasty China House since week 1 of their opening. After experiencing some of the WORST Chinese food at every establishment in Manhattan, KS....we gave it a shot as our last bastion of hope and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, good portions and good food. Well that was all back in March '12 and here it is June '12 and we just ate there for the last time. Today's food was all disappointing......everything that we liked, all the flavors, are gone. Every dish that was good, tastes completely different. There is no consistency on portion size or dish taste from one dining experience to the next. Not to mention that some of the wait staff can be argumentative with the customer. The first straw was our visit in May that resulted in a Bulgogi (admittedly Korean) dish that was made with black bean sauce......easily recognizable as such, when there are black beans throughout the sauce. Well when mentioned to the waitress, instead of checking on the issue or even conceding that the dish contained black beans....she argued that nothing was different, yet the 4 times we had had the dish before, it contained no beans and tasted COMPLETELY different. Just ordered kung pao beef made spicier than imaginable, and what came back was a mild beef dish that tasted nothing like any kung pao or even their kung pao of past orders. To sum it up, we were elated to finally have a place to sate our occasional Chinese food craving, unfortunately this restaurant did what so many tend to do.....woo you in the beginning and then slack when they think they've got you hooked. WHY OH WHY?!?!?! Since my initial review I've frequented this establishment about twice month with growing disappointment. I'll bullet my points so you don't have to read paragraphs: -Food quantity per serving has shrank considerably -Food QUALITY has changed, to include several recipes (many of the sauces have changed to black bean sauces with a hit of spicy oil or sesame oil) -Service - Most of the servers there are still adequate to say the least, but one young asian gal, other than her general lack of knowledge regarding the menu, her rudeness is top of the charts. Argumentative, unwilling to find out answers to questions she doesn't know, or just downright rude (checking text as we're trying to order) this girl does it all As such, after today's abysmal lunch, I'll never frequent the place again. I can honestly say that I'm super sad, because as you can tell from my original review, this place was the diamond in the rough.
