    Beef samosas
    Dwayne A.

Not a bad little place. I was a little worried at first, because this place is inside a gas station. The first time I tried to come here, it was around 10:40 and they were still closed. I made sure to come early afternoon. When I walked in I wasn't sure if they were open or not, because nobody was behind the counter. Apparently the owners run both the Substation and the Tasty Tikka, so it took them a minute to notice me. The menu is a bit limited, but that's to be expected with the amount of space that they have. I ordered 2 samosas and a chicken tikka bowl. Everything turned out wonderful and had that authentic flavor and heat. Outside of the initial wait, which wasn't too long, I really enjoyed this discovery.

This quickly became one of my go to lunch spots. I love Indian food, but when I'm craving it for lunch it is often inaccessible due to price and distance from my job. Tasty Tikka has stepped in and made that a problem of the past. The first time I came here they were offering a sample platter, which was a little bit of everything for $7. I'm not sure what everything was called, but it was all delicious. My favorite items were the chickpea curry, chicken tikka masala, and chicken briyani. Everything is on the mild side of the heat index to appeal to multiple palates. Recently I've started picking up a couple of samosas when I get a sub from Sub Station. I've had the vegetable and beef samosas and both are excellent. The samosas also seem to be a hit, because they are often sold out by the time I get there.

Good food that was very fresh and authentic. I didn't get to try the naan but it looked amazing. I can't wait to try more!

My second time here. The first time was during the soft opening when the menu was limited so wanted…read moreto check out additional items before posting. We tried dosa, vada, idli, gutti vankay curry, and andhra goat curry the first time. The second time, we ordered gobi Karampoddi, gongura chicken, Mirchi ka Salan, and Veg Hakka noodles - all Indian extra spicy and an order of idli sambhar - mild spicy. The service was good and we got the food pretty quickly with the appetizers coming out first, as requested. The portion size was also pretty decent for the price- enough for 2-3 adults if you're sharing entrees. However, the spice level was a little off. The Mirchi ka Salan could've used some more Thai chillies instead of the large jalapenos that tasted like bell peppers. The gongura chicken and veg Hakka noodles were almost spot on at least after adding the chilli sauce that comes with the noodles. The sambhar was ordered mild for a teenager but it turned out to have a little too much heat for them. It was spot on for an adult with a developed palette but maybe not so much for a weaker one. Desserts were also on the okay side. They put rooh-afsa (pinkish rose syrup) in their rabri which makes it a little different. The rasmalai was pretty watered down with no malai (cream) but was flavorful. I don't think the desserts provide any value for money so I would skip them. We had a bunch of leftovers (Mirchi ka Salan and Hakka noodles) that tasted really good when reheated. So maybe the spices just needed some time to really bond with the food overnight. I would definitely recommend this place if you're near Columbia

I recently ordered takeout from Hyderabad House and was pleased with the experience…read more What I ordered: I got their gobi manchurian to start things off. It came is spice levels: baby mild, mild, medium, spicy, very spicy. I got the mild because I do like my gobi manchurian to have some spice. That said, their mild is more like a heavily medium from what I'm accustomed to. I enjoyed it but just a note--if you like things to have only a slight kick, I'd go for the baby mild. For my main, I got their malai kofta. It closer to a light medium when ordering it mild but again, no problem with that. For the dish itself I found dumplings to be a bit too mushy and the overall flavor was a bit lacking for me. For my bread, I got the garlic naan. It was excellent! Covered in chopped garlic and glistening with butter--it was indulgent and delicious. Everything was perfectly packaged (no leaking!) and came piping hot! And, the servings were robust so I have fully half leftover for another dinner. Get to it!

The menu has been streamlined, parking is plentiful, and the exterior has been freshly painted white, giving the place a clean, updated look before you even walk in. Inside, the space has been beautifully remodeled. It's bright, white, modern, and spotless, with tasteful accents that make it feel welcoming without being overdone. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the visit. I missed their weekend buffet (which I'd love to try next time), but ordered the tandoori chicken with a side of garlic naan. The tandoori chicken was outstanding--deep, authentic flavor with just the right amount of spice. Enough heat to lightly tingle your lips, but not overpowering or lingering. Easily one of the most flavorful tandoori chickens I've ever had. The garlic naan was absolute perfection. If I lived closer, this would be a regular stop, especially to catch the buffet on a weekend. Highly recommended--definitely worth checking out.

At this point, we're basically regulars, and for good reason: it's consistently delicious. The kind of delicious where you're already planning your next visit before you even leave. The staff is always so attentive, the food comes out hot and fresh, and you can't go wrong no matter what you order. We always kick things off with either the Veggie Samosas or the Onion Pakoras -- both perfectly crispy and served with that addictive tamarind dipping sauce. My go-to entrée? The Spicy Butter Paneer Masala... every. single. time. Meanwhile, my husband is loyal to the Chicken Tikka Masala or the Lamb Chops -- and honestly, you can't miss with any of them. The service stays top-notch, the flavors stay unmatched, and 2 Gingers will forever be a favorite of ours in Columbia. If you haven't been yet... this is your sign.

I came here Saturday at 1 with my daughter and was meeting a friend. We were seated immediately and staff were kind. They had shah paneer here which is one of my favs so off course I had to get that, I also got an order of the butter paneer masala and out of those two I actually loved the buttered paneer masala more here though both were amazing. I also placed an order of the salt and pepper mushrooms, garlic and cheese naan and off course some mango lassi. Everything was delicious and friendly quick service. My only complaint was as we wer finishing our meal I really started smelling cigarettes coming through the vent which thankfully we were finishing up but the smell was not pleasant at all. My 6 year old devoured the food as well. We'll for sure be back.
