Mouthwatering. But yall, this pho? PHO-NOMENAL! I came here because my new Thai spot is closed for two weeks and really needed a soupy vibe. Pho is one of my top soup-style dishes (panang curry if I'm going Thai) but the Southeast Asians have they stuff down PAT! After venturing here 5 times over the past 3 years, I've dubbed this my go to for the midlands. Every time I have come in whether to order the Pho tai (steak pho), Pho tai sach (steak & tripe), or the Pho Dac Biet (beef combo) The broth & meat texture has not waned. The broth boasts all the vital & signature notes of anise, garlic, rock sugar, cinnamon well simmered & rendered beef bone stock, onions, cloves, & a perfect amount of salt to marry each ingredient to compliment and layer the dish. Pho is a complex but beautiful symphonic bowl of soul that speaks in every sip, slurp, bite, chew. If a restaurant is not putting out a bowl that is exactly the same each time, it's best to move on to somewhere more consistently passionate. Rude waitress, a Brenda. We are regular customers there and my daughter likes to take her WATER (it's free, right), because she trusts her own source. But this girl got in our faces and said that the owner is tired of people bringing their own drinks. My daughter even opened her cup to show her it was water. Probably my favorite Viet restaurant in the Lexington/Richland area. The food was very filling (delicious too) and the service was pretty quick. The servers were always on the feet and checking. The restaurant's interior is also fantastic. The floors are nice and clean. It may move away from what a traditional Asian restaurant looks like but it works here. read more

I live in Queens, NY near Flushing, one of the country's largest Chinatowns that also offer Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine. I'm almost 65...and believe it or not, this was my first time trying Pho. So I have to ask myself...why the heck did I wait so long??? Came here with my daughter and granddaughters for lunch. Had the P2 Pho Combo (Round Eye Steak Pho with Meatballs), Jumbo Shrimp appetizer and a Lychee Fruit Tea with Mango popping boba. The Round Eye Steak was nice and tender, the meatballs had a dense chewy texture that I quite enjoyed, and the bone broth was light but very flavorful. Combined with the rice noodles, peppers, bean sprouts and hot chili oil it was a very satisfying lunch. The portion of pho was huge! Even a big guy like me had leftovers to take home. The shrimp was delicious, and the fruit tea very refreshing. The service was friendly and professional, and the interior dining area very spacious and appealing. 1/2 - My New Go-To Pho Spot in Columbia! Pho Bun Me absolutely impressed me from start to finish. I tried the Bao and the Beef Pho, and both dishes were fantastic. The Bao was large, flavorful, and perfectly balanced -- satisfying yet surprisingly light. The Beef Pho was the star of the show though -- the broth was rich and deeply flavorful, and the large portion was loaded with tender beef and plenty of noodles. Every bite felt comforting and authentic. The ambience was another highlight. Although it's a casual dining spot, the interior feels elevated and thoughtfully designed, while the exterior gives off a true Vietnamese street-side vibe. It's the perfect blend of cozy and classy. The service was just as impressive. The lovely ladies running the place were incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect -- genuinely appreciative and welcoming throughout my visit. I went with my family and the place was very quiet, which made the atmosphere a bit awkward. The pho was solid and flavorful and I really liked the iced coffee with condensed milk. The Thai tea was just average. I'm not usually a fan of banh mi and theirs definitely did not change my mind. The menu is small, so your options are limited, but the pho is worth trying. read more

This was my first visit today. I was greeted by an exceptionally nice attentive Vietnamese female that listen to my questions concerning the menu and offered suggestions. I ordered the B4 Bahn Mi for my wife and myself because we have never had Bahn Mi. It was spectacularly delicious and once I got home and really had time to evaluate the menu, I realized that they had summer rolls and several of my other Vietnamese favorites. We will be looking for every excuse to make a trip to the area and once again visit this restaurant and have a delicious sit down lunch or dinner. Update since our last visit. The first few times we ate here and we really enjoyed it all around. The food, ambiance and service were all good, with the food being great! But we visited today and had a very different experience. I ordered the #5 bahn mi and bubble tea and my husband had the beef pho and iced coffee. In short, our waitress was flat out unfriendly, and unavailable half the time. The lady who either owned or managed it was friendly enough but when my husband we had an issue with his food she was hesitant to resolve it, didn't apologize and we thought maybe we'd get some kind of small discount for the huge inconvenience but she didn't offer that either. My boba was mushy. The food was still tasty but definitely felt like lesser quality than previous visits and my sandwich was skimpy on toppings. The restaurant was clean enough but very cluttered which made it feel unkempt. And the owner (managers?) children are almost always there and being loud and disruptive. I was quite sad by this huge change from our previous experiences and I normally would have given them a pass as I know that things happen sometimes. But this seemed like maybe it's their new standard. And all of that to say. It wasn't a great experience, and for $60 for soup, a sandwich a coffee and a bubble tea, we expect a bit better. So if you haven't tried this place yet, maybe get takeout because the food is good but right now everything else is lacking. I'm ending with my husbands issue mostly for the owners to see but not necessarily pertinent to what most people look for in a review. My husband ordered the beef pho with no cilantro and when he went to add black pepper, the lid fell off into his soup and dumped half the bottle with it. When we brought it to a waitresses attention (ours was nowhere to be found) she seemed hesitant to replace it (?) but did so without argument. The man who brought his replacement didn't speak English so it was a bit of a hassle to get someone's attention because once again our waitress was nowhere to be found but when we finally got the attention of the lady (not our waitress) who ordered the replacement we had to tell her that they left off the onions when he got the replacement soup. When she FINALLY brought out the onions they were the wrong kind, but by this point I was almost halfway through my sandwich and my poor husband still hadn't been able to enjoy a single of his soup so he just ate it anyway. read more

I was excited to try this place but left dissappointed. This is a large building that used to be a Chinese buffet and is now Pho Bun MI. Pet me just say that most people dining here were eating Pho and they seemed pleased but we did not. First, spring rolls...looked great on the menu but when they arrived, they were wrapped in saran wrap and tasted pre-made, rubbery and slightly old. Not a good presentation...but the peanut sauce that came with them was excellent...and I don't even LIKE peanut sauce. Wish they had spices dipping sauce because they were just bland. Same for the Chicken Bun Mi Sanwich. The chicken was cold and shredded chicken and it lacked the flavor of a bun mi. The bread was slightly stale and crumbly as well. My husband chose an entree and was disappointed as well. It just lacked flavor. He said the cold coffee was good but the passionfruit tea had only black boba. They need some flavored boba to add. The space is been so seems impersonal and not "cozy" by any means....although it is sparkling clean. If I do try it again ...I guess I will order Pho because everyone else was getting that and it looked good. read more

Finally a delicious bowl of pho in Greater Columbia!! Clean and well appointed dining room. I can tell the owners have invested a lot into fixing up what used to be a Chinese buffet. We like this streamlined menu better. Good broth with flavor. Excellent hot tea in cute little sachets. Perfect for fall weather. West Columbians consider yourselves lucky!! My husband and I were here to visit. When its a rainy day, its a Pho-fect day to get hot soup. We requested the spring rolls with Grilled pork, and OMG its delicious. The meat is so tender and perfect pair with peanut sauce. Pho was Phobulous, meat were super tender and I love my brisket tender like its melted in my mouth. Food came out quick, and was quite good. The summer roll was above average for Columbia, and cheaper than other places too, I think. Didn't order any entrees, so I have nothing to add for that. This was my husband and I first experience. I ordered the Pho and my husband ordered a noodle dish. My pho was ok, I've had better! The Pho did not had all the ingredients for a typical combination meat pho, that consisted of beef, meatballs, tripe and the fatty part of the beef. My Pho just had beef and 1 meatball. The beef tasted old. The service was ok when we arrived, but got slow. Our drinks were never refilled. They needed more servers.
