I rented several propane heaters from Tates. All the locations . Drove all over . I rented 4 units. On 4 different occasions. I got one that was too small .... It ran fine . Didn't do the job tho . The appropriate LB white 170k btu heaters .... I rented 3 on 3 separate occasions. None have worked yet . One ran for about 30 minutes before it died . The other two wouldn't fire . No refunds . Gave me a coupon for 20 % .... of more busted junk I guess. Also charged me for about 400$ worth of stuff i definitely did not rent . Clown shoes. I'm out a 1k and have yet to get a piece of properly functioning equipment . Thx tates. read more

Great location, plenty of parking, the place is presentable and clean. Prices are basic my hourly, half day, full day, etc. and are reasonable. However, the customer service is poor, stinks, not up to par. The employees watch sports in the computer monitor while customers are in store. I needed help and asked the man to help and he was so caught up in his sports that he ignored me until I asked for the second time. I won't go back. read more

Boise Bully Bread Rescue needed to move our huge 278 lb, 7'X6'X3' Port-a-Cool into our warehouse building from the drop ship location. Dereck was extremely helpful. To save us a trip he took the forklift to the shipped location and put the cooler on the trailer with the forklift and then delivered it and unloaded it at BBBR's warehouse. I went to Tates to rent a plumbing auger. I rented a power auger instead of a hand crank one. After getting it home and set up I began to clear the drain. I immediately found out that the switch on the auger was defective and not working correctly. I went ahead and used the auger by hand taking twice as much time and 4 times the effort. After a few hours I did get the drain to flow but not well. I will probably have to have someone come out and redo the drain. When I returned the auger to Tates, he said that was to bad, but decided to give me a 25% discount for the opportunity to use their defective equipment. I will use Tates in Nampa but not going back to Tates in Meridian again. When I told them of the defect, they said, "OK", and then put it back where it was when I picked it up. Doesn't look like they do much maintenance on their equipment. If your going to use Tates, skip the Meridian store. read more
