I have used Tatro's a few times. Some for appliance repair. And I have also bought a new stove from them. They were knowledgeable, helpful, my stove arrived when they said it would. Avoid this company. I like to work with independently owned local businesses whenever possible. I've had negative experiences with Tatro's Appliances in the past but it was mostly their inability to return calls, schedule service in a reasonable timeframe. I called them over 3 weeks ago because the washing machine was making a major racket during the spin cycle. I had to wait two weeks for the repairman to come. They said he would show up between 9:00 am - 1pm. When I called at 1:15, they said it had changed and he'll be there by 5:00. When I called at 5:15 they said he was late and would call me when he was half an hour away. He called at 8:00 pm. I said no thankyou, too late. I waited another week for him to come, which he did and immediately said it wasn't fixable and I needed a new washer. I paid him for the visit, $158.00. When I called the next day to talk about a new washer, the receptionist directed me to the Electrolux website to look at washers.....even though she had some on the showroom floor. I bought one and she wouldn't schedule the installation until after my check arrived. Five days later I called to see if they had the money, and they did....they could schedule the installation in another week. Meanwhile, I read reviews and found a more highly rated washing machine at Lowe's for less $$.....bought it online and they installed it THE NEXT DAY. Absolutely appalled by the behavior of this company. We were expected to have our dogs out in 13 degree weather. Pulled the washer out for them made sure their entire area was spotless just for them to make up stories about why they couldn't service our washing machine. We have been without a washer for several months now. They are very well known for finding reasons they can't do the work on appliances that are under warranty. AVOID THEM. I just found these reviews since I was looking up Tatro's to see about ordering appliances through them since the other business we've been trying to deal with is turning out to be pretty poor. I was surprised, since we used Tatro's twice this fall - once to buy a new washing machine, and once to get an oven repaired. Not only were the young women who answered the phone polite, knowledgeable and helpful, the service was excellent. The oven repair required parts to be ordered, and they moved other things around to get the repair done before Thanksgiving. They called us several times to update us, and overall I couldn't be happier. Maybe the kinds of experiences people have been having and then posting reviews about woke them up. read more

Horrendous horrendous company. Non-responsive. I'm more than six weeks into a repair, just waiting. The repairman I'm sure is overworked and whatever else their excuses are. It all adds up to a miserable experience. It will be well worth your time to avoid this outfit at all costs. DO NOT USE THIS MERCHANT FOR APPLIANCE REPAIR!!! I am speaking from personal experience. Here is what you will encounter: First of all, they will not return your call, and you will have to call back multiple times. Second, when they do return your call, you will have to wait for the scheduled diagnostic service. Third, you will be charged for the scheduled diagnostic service and the parts that the technician assesses as necessary. Fouth, you will have to wait until the technicial arrives and installs the parts. Fifth, THE INSTALLATION WILL NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I know. I hired Tatro to fix my fridge. They did absolutely nothing to fix my fridge. I ended up buying a new one from Home Depot with free delivery, removal of the fridge that Tatro failed to fix, and a five year warranty. In my opinion, don't work with these people. They are scamsters. read more

Refrigerator was not working correctly. The technician said we needed a new compressor. I paid to have a compressor ordered but then told it was not available. Wanted to sell me a new fridge. They then tried to charge me a credit card service fee even though product was not ordered. Had a second company take a look at the fridge. He asked if freezer was holding temperature which it was. He stated it then could not be the compressor but would have to be the fan as there are not two compressor's in a fridge. Would not recommend this company. read more

I am disappointed to leave this review for a local company, but I have called and called without getting anywhere. We have used this company in the past with good results, but it seems things have taken a turn for the worse. We called in the fall for help with our washer and oven. After waiting over a month for someone to come look at it, we were told that we needed to order parts. We agreed, and paid the service fee for the repairman who came out. At this point, it has been another month and a half since we agreed to the repair. After multiple phone calls, we have been bounced around and told that someone would "call us back" over and over, we are giving up. We are really disappointed that we've lost our $100 service call fee at this point, as nothing was fixed, apparently no part was ever ordered, and no one is coming to service these appliances. Had a technician come out to service my Viking Refrigerator. He was in the house for over an hour. He said the reason my freezer wouldn't close properly was bent rails and faulty moldings and the estimate was over $1200. My wife did a five minute defrost and removed buildup ice. Freezer is perfect and needs no repair. I've never written a review before, but this incompetents or outright thief deserves public attention. read more

Not only did it take too long to get them to my house but when they did I was absolutely appalled. This was spring/summer of 2022. Some heavy, toothless guy with the most terrible plumbers crack you have ever seen and an even bigger guy. Both technicians seemed to know what they were doing but they were obviously more interested in my teenage daughter who was wearing shorts and a tank top. They were obviously eyeing her and talking about her amongst themselves. I was rather disgusted. The bigger guy was way too friendly. He called us "honey" and I found that to be very unprofessional. They were suppose to be professionals and there to do a job....fix my dishwasher not ogle over my teenage daughter. Both were pleasant but way too chatty and over friendly. It was obvious that they were seeking female attention. I won't be having them back EVER! But they did fix my dishwasher and that is the only thing I am happy about with my experience with them. After talking with some others who had used Tatro's, they had experienced similar situations. Office staff is very rude over the phone as well. read more

This is the absolute worst company for appliance repairs that you can deal with. We have been without a working oven during a pandemic for a month now. I spoke to the owner today and explained that it was unacceptable how much time had passed and that we needed someone to come this week even it was a special case. We had an appointment window from 12-4 last week and we paid someone to be at our home to wait for the servicemen because we had another engagement. I did not get a call until 5:30 and our friend had to leave by this time. The owner INITIALLY apologized saying that we should not have been told a specific window of time and rather we should have been told from 12 - the end of the day (which was not a defined time). I own a business myself so I explained that it was not my fault that he did not train his employees properly when communicating appointment times. He immediately became defensive and cited the pandemic. I began to say how I understand it is a pandemic and before I could speak any more he told me that he would find us another service provider and hung up on me. I immediately called back and a woman answered, I asked her to speak to the owner again, I was denied, even after explaining that I own a business and I wanted to give him a second chance to give us better customer service before going on and writing reviews on every available platform. The owner is Mark, he treated me with complete disrespect and I believe he has no intention of calling anyone to get us the service we need. This was all through a Best Buy warranty so now we have to drive 30 minutes during a pandemic to try and get actual customer service since our oven does not work AT ALL. I never cursed or started yelling at any point, I tried to state my frustrations in a firm but understanding way but it did not matter. I completely understand that EVERYONE is feeling extra stress and tension due to the pandemic. I really hope that this review saves others from experiencing the same disrespect and frustration that I received. I would never recommend doing business with this company for ANY reason. We are notifying best buy of this incident and will be strongly recommending that they discontinue any business with Tatro's. the repairman, i think his name was chad or shaun, did a great job fixing my appliance but i sure hope he is not so inappropriately friendly and flirtatious with all of his female customers. it made myself and my husband quite uncomfortable. my husband almost requested a different repairman come back to finish the job. i found it rather disturbing and strangely unprofessional. must be the big guy doesn't have a significant other the way he was acting. my stove works and thats all that matters now. if i need them for future repairs, as my options are limited, i may request a different repairman come to my house. Tatro's was recommended to us as "the best" for installing top-of-the-line appliances. We spent over $25,000 buying the best appliances on the market: Wolf/SubZero/Cove. A $25,000 kitchen should look sharp and we knew we would need some cosmetic "tweaks" and felt we needed to go the extra mile and hire "the best." Boy do we regret not hiring our local carpenter and handyman who would have done 10 times better the work for about 10% of the cost. We wrongly, thought Tatro's were the guarantee for a great outcome. They are "certified" by Wolf . . . Beware: The owner Mark scoffed at my wife when we requested a quote. That should have been the first red flag. They didn't bother to figure the job out before showing up. They needed 3 men for what is easily a 2-man job. They were rough with the appliances. They actually needed to use my own personal equipment to get the appliances into the house! What was allegedly supposed to be an easy install on one day turned into the need to return for a second trip. The owner Mark blamed us and the appliance store for him not understanding the complexity of the job that we wanted and not having all the parts ready. We consoled ourselves that "these guys are the best" but on the return trip, the cosmetic solutions they came up with are worthy of mockery. Calling the work pathetic would be kind. I've made nicer stuff out of scrap metal with a 4" grinder than what they "installed" next to our $2500 state-of-the-art cooktop with a hot glue gun. The single wood trim piece they put in had no bevel to it to match the surrounding cabinets and was only stained on 3 sides. The cuts for it probably took 2 passes on table saw and they then glued it onto the cabinets. It fell off 2 hours after they left. What a joke. The owner blamed the humidity of northern Vermont. He argued it was good because my wife had seemed happy with it. This is the recurring theme. Excuse after excuse when the answer is their work is simply amateur. I challenge the owner Mark to take pictures of what he installed in our kitchen and post them on his website for advertising of his excellent work. The owner Mark will talk you up and down about all of his famous, rich clients and all the awesome, high-end jobs they do. Well, the work speaks for itself. There is one of two scenarios . . . either they just don't do good work . . . or you need to be famous to get it. The best part . . . $98 dollars per hour per guy. 35 hours of labor . . . a half-broke piece of scrap stainless steel, a single piece of wood that fell off after they left and the "installed" appliances. They did some duct work through the cabinets. I'll give them a par for it . . . average work at best. After the second trip, they advised the need for a third trip. No Thanks. The dishwasher wasn't installed level and the drawers fall out on their own when the door is opened. The 48inch fridge has straight edges that they bent. (they blamed the appliance store) And while the vent system is working nicely . . . I'm not holding my breath there won't be an issue with that too. Bottom line? These guys are amateur at best. Who pays 98 dollars an hour, per guy, for amateur work? Sadly we did and regret it significantly. Not the money, but that there is nothing remotely nice about the $5700 install we are charged for and instead it is fraught with issues that aren't resolved. Of course Mark was very quick to offer to "make us happy." At $294 per hour for him and his crew and their sub-par work, I declined. We regret not giving our local guy the entire job now knowing his excellent work ethic and quality blows these guys out of the water. Our local guy isn't Wolf certified . . . but apparently Wolf certifies amateur work. Thankfully he'll be able to do the finish work that Tatro's simply doesn't have the talent or skill to provide. I needed an electric range, I was in the area and I thought I'd try a local family owned business. I saw a frigidaire there for about $1K and bought it on the spot. Halfway home the sales person calls saying the price was wrong and it was actually around $2,500 (turns out that was also wrong). The owner avoided talking to me until he really had to and I was dealing with a crying salesperson. Owner said he would have to fire his poor salesperson trying to make ME feel guilty for the mistake THEY made. They also sent me the wrong information on the price, TWICE. They tried to tell me what I bought was a more expensive model than it really was. I did end up feeling sorry for them so I paid a reasonable price and they did give me some money back because they were so dumb. This place is totally unprofessional. They blame their customers for their mistakes. Maybe it was just a really bad week for them, but the series of behavior was very very very disturbing. I hate to say it but I should have gone to a big box store that actually puts the real price on their products and don't resort to some blackmail harrassment style approach to trying to squeeze the money out of you for their mistakes. Sorry Tatro, if your jam is service, than do that exclusively. You clearly are not doing the sales part correctly. Grow up and be professional. read more

Tatro's has come out to my home 3 times in the past 6-7 years. Each time they have been courteous, informative, and extremely helpful. Today was just one example. I had called because our spare 15 year old refrigerator had stopped cooling (freezer still worked) and our 14 year old chest freezer no longer froze. Joseph fixed my refrigerator quickly and neatly, explaining what he was doing along the way. My freezer, unfortunately, he explained would be more expensive to fix than to purchase a new one, should I want to. That was exactly what I had asked him to do, tell me if it was worth it or not. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with!! They installed our LG gas range about a year ago. The power burner was not quite right from the beginning. Over time, it got worse, so I called in June to see if they can send a service person to take a look. The woman who answered the phone said she will run it by the owner and will get back to me. A week went by with no call back, so I called again. She gave me the same answer. And this went on every week for about 2 months. She finally said, I have to call LG and figure out what is going on and order the parts, then Tatro's can send a service person out to me. I think It's Tatro's responsibility to come out and fix what they installed!! I got fed up and called Chuck's Appliance. I was able to schedule an appointment right away! Chuck came out, figured out what was wrong, and helped me call LG to order the right parts. Tatro's didn't install this part in the first place. I guess this is a rare part, so Tatro's installer probably threw it away. Do not use Tatro's! Just horrible! read more

We recently hired Tatro's Appliance to install a new stove that we purchased from a local appliance store that recommended them to do the installation. We purchased a reasonably expensive stove which would potentially require some challenging installation into our current island to replace the old stove. Size and updating the downdraft meant it might also require some reconstruction to the island, mainly involving the granite counter top. After sending pictures of the current stove and island, and discussing the stove's suitability with both the seller and Tatro's, we were given a quote for the installation. We were quoted a possible installation cost of $4000, but told that was the top end and might not cost that much once they started the project. We scheduled the installation. After three +/- hours of work, taking apart half of the island, cutting into the floor (appears as though no measurements were taken) putting the stove in place and connecting the gas, we were told they were done for the day and would have to come back. Since the stove was minimally larger than the old some of the granite would have to be trimmed and they would have to get someone else to do that part and it might take a while. Tatro's is in Barre, VT the "Granite Capital of the World". How hard could that be? They knew before coming that this might be a possibility based on the pictures and measurements that had been sent. They said they'd get back to us and left. The island is dismantled, the stove works, (and we like it) and we trusted them to follow up. My wife and I both went to work for the rest of the day. I came back to the house at the end of the afternoon, only to enter a house that had the strongest odor of propane gas throughout the house (3 stories). I opened all the doors and windows and took a chance to see if the stove worked (probably not a good idea) and all was fine. I contacted our gas provider who came out only to discover that the gas line was not properly hooked up (in reverse). We spoke with Tatro's about the situation and they were in complete denial regarding any part of our situation. I went online this morning in search of reviews of their business and was alarmed to find several similar experiences. Lesson learned, do this first. At the end of the day, their work cost us $190.69 for parts and taxes. Labor came to $1477.69. I know they did not work more than 4 hours, we were charged close to $400 an hour. We now have an unfinished installation with half of our island dismantled and pieces of granite sitting on our dining table. read more

The service people came to service my AGA range. They did not even know how to light a burner and after attempting to raise the top in order to check out the ignitions system, they gave up and said they would have to come back. They left the range in worse shape than when they came with parts that held the grates in place no longer properly attached. After saying they would order parts, I received a call saying the parts plus a $288 service fee would amount to over $700. After more than two weeks, I called to find out the status of the order and was told a technician would contact me. After several days, I called back and was told the same thing. I then emailed the owner on a Friday and was assured someone would contact me Monday. No one called. I finally contacted someone who told me the parts were ordered. I waited a few more days and called back to see when I could expect service. I was told it was unclear since the parts had not come in. I canceled the order and was told I would receive a refund on my credit card. More than a week later, after several calls, I was told the refund was hung up because they did not know if and how I had payed the initial service charge of $144. I emailed them the canceled check and a few days later received my refund. I have spent $144 and my range is in worse condition than before I called. They may have technicians that can work on AGA ranges, but the technicians who worked on my range did not inspire confidence. read more

The people who answered the phone when I made a call requesting service for my dryer were very pleasant and helpful. One woman looked up prices for parts for my model so that I could make a decision as to whether it was worth repairing or if I should consider replacing the dryer. The service person, Jason, was excellent. He was pleasant, professional and very quick. He went out of his way to make sure that an error by Tatro's was corrected and that the price was fair.
