Went here with my friends and we were satisfied with all the food we ordered. The tuna and salmon sashimi seemed fresh than other sushi places i had been too. Price wise i think is reasonable. We had a hard time parking though in front of it and needs to pay. We waited 45 mins to get a table on a weekend afternoon! read more

The BBQ Beef, Steak, Short Beef Rib, were definitely not fresh at all. First round the beef and the steak meat were too dark, and second round looks normal. Seafood smells disgusting. Not all meat tastes good. Sashimi cuts are very rough, very big, very fat salmon. Sushi was all alright. I had dinner at Tatsu recently and I strongly recommend a reservation as there was a line even though we showed up earlier than typical dinner hours. The concept of both Japanese and KBBQ AYCE is relatively new in Edmonton so it's definitely worth trying. In terms of food, I'd give it overall 8.5/10 given that they have a decent variety for sashimi/Japanese food and KBBQ. One note is that like most AYCE places in Edmonton, they don't bring what you ordered (i.e. ordered many beef tataki but they always just brought 1 plate with 5?6? pieces). Highlights include: - Salmon and Tuna Sashimi: Both relatively fresh - Beef Tataki: Good. Also, one of the few places that still offers this as part of AYCE in Edmonton - Chop chop: Decent - Tapioca Milk Dessert: Yes (refreshing, especially given all the meat/BBQ) - Prawn Tempura: Good. Also, some AYCE places started offering different tempura breading so it's nice to see this place is still more of the typical tempura breading - BBQ Short rib: Good, tender beef - BBQ Squid: Grilled squid is always good - Note: Items like BBQ Pork Belly, steak, and mussels were less appetizing than expected (i.e. steak cut was meh...so it was always a bit too tough) read more

I went to Tatsu with a group and we were seated immediately. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was very fast! I liked that you can order dishes from your phone, and have the option to order both sushi and Korean bbq. The menu was quite extensive so we tried many different items. Every dish we ordered was fresh and flavourful. Highly recommended! read more

Great new restaurant downtown with all you can eat options. 4 stars because a few things needed some attention and it just seems like they're brand new and working out the kinks still. One the side near the windows, it's SUPER cold. I think the heater must be broken. We sat closer to the bathrooms / kitchen and it was way better there. This restaurant is kid friendly as well as accessible. The staff are friendly enough but seemed a bit frazzled. For example, the washroom had run out of toilet paper and hand towels. They also had no soap! So kind of gross if you think about employees using that washroom without those key items. I did mention to the waitress about this. I ordered a bottle of Sake and it came opened already with a quarter of the bottle gone. I had to tell the waitress that I wanted a new, sealed bottle considering I was paying for a full bottle. The food was pretty good here. The Korean bbq was delicious. The sushi is large sized rolls and cones and I felt I really got my money's worth her. read more

Above average but lacking. 1hr+ wait, items missed/sold out. No salt or pepper (bring your own) Second time trying the ayce buffet & disappointed this time around. Due to tatsu staff not answering their phones earlier in the day I was unable to make a reservation so dinner rush was over an hour wait for a table. Miraculously they call you so you are free to leave come back when a table is almost ready. The food when mostly arrived fast and sashimi was fresh and good portions. Meats were a bit under seasoned and I have learned to bring s&p shakers or use the soya sauce to add extra flavour. During our dinner, some items were missed like the mango rolls & spicy tuna sashimi (did not ever come out), toro was sold out and beef tataki had to be ordered twice for one serving to be brought out. Additionally some of the kitchen items were very lack later like the ginger beef and gyorza. We were lucky enough to be seated away from the door and window so didn't have issues with temperature. Overall, good experience and good food but can be approved. Go early or late to skip the 1hr+ wait. read more

Surprising great quality food for AYCE. The sushi was very fresh and the orders came in very quickly. I didn't like the beef tataki very much but the rest of the food we got were all very good. Second time going there, when I tell you I ordered like 5 bowls of takoyaki, I was boutta combust everywhere. I had other things as well and they were great, but the takoyaki was the highlight of my visit, the wait was a little long when I ordered, but it was so worth it. Other than that, service was great as per usual, and the ambiance was nice. Will be coming back soon. read more

Excellent spot that was very accessible by taking a train to corona then walking 5 minutes. We had to wait for 1 hour to be seated because it was very packed on a friday and we did not have reservations. The food though was amazing, your classic all you can sushi with bbq so you can't go wrong. The sashimi and sushi was very fresh, great sake and the meat was high quality and tender. It was my very first time going to Tardi Sushi. It Is a very busy place and parking across the street in the shopping strip mall is convenient. If you have never been to such a restaurant, it can be overwhelming as it was for me since we sat where the cooking bbq unit was. We were there with people who had been there before and knew how to order from the "buffet" menu (online with a QR code). Without them, I don't think I would have been able to order well and enjoy my meal. While the staff was nice, they weren't too helpful with "teaching" us how to "do" Status Sushi. Will I go back? Only with others that have been there bf and know how to order. read more

Both the things I was excited to try here were sub-par. AYCE meat grill and sushi? Yum, right? The meat chunks looked like they had been torn off the animal by some kind of wild predator... and only the stringiest, most gristly bits... and the spicy seasoning on the pork? Tastes like it came from a jar of harissa from superstore... Then the sushi rolls and tempura... the rice on the rolls was dried out like they had been kept unwrapped in a refrigerator until they were put on our plates, no presentation whatsoever, and pretty much flavourless. The tempura was similarly dry, yet somehow simultaneously greasy. If you want much better sushi and bbq meats, go to Kinjo Sushi and Grill. Not AYCE but we payed basically the same price at Kinjo and got twice the amount of food and 10 times the quality and presentation! Now granted, the amount was due to the fact we didn't want any more Tatsu mediocrity... but the quality and presentation was all controllable. read more

It's convenient to order all kinds of sushi although we order a lot of pieces and variety because we just use our mobile phone (only one phone for a table) to use QR code and a table number. Except the chicken kara-ake(Japan fried chicken), all good. Shashimi was freshly served and not small. The reservation for over 6 people is available and walking for less numbers. read more

I am a big sushi fan, so Tatsu Sushi is a real find for me. The freshness of their ingredients is something you notice right off the bat, with salmon being just amazing with the right texture and density. They're not kidding around when it comes to speed either - your order hits the table before you know it, which is impressive. The food here is absolutely delicious, and the prices are above average. On the negative - the limited seating and the tables' proximity, always feel cramped and the wait time to be seated can be around 15-20m on a busy day. Had an amazing experience here today! I went with a group of four and the food came out almost immediately. Mind you we went right at 430 on a Tuesday so I can't comment on the wait time for dinner rush but it was an amazing experience, the staff was super kind and doting. The only complaint would be the set up of paying and the people coming in to get a table but that being said this place is still working out the kinks. 10/10 would recommend 10/10 would go again! The beef short rib, maui wowie rolls and the sockeye salmon knocked our socks off. read more
