    Japchae
    Sarah P.

What a great experience this was for us to try Korean BBQ for the first time! We had the combo for 3, with corn cheese and the yukgaejang soup and we also ordered the japchae. The service is so, so good. Just spot on. Nothing was ever empty, it was like being doted on by your grandma - have more! Let me get you more! The whole restaurant is clean, everyone is incredibly friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. My husband especially liked the bulgogi. So much food!

They changed thier menu to fall coziness so we tried a few different things. We had the Chou Farcie which is France's version of a cabbage roll- Savoy cabbage stuffed w/ braised pork & beef, sautéed vegetables & served with tomato sauce. We also had the Coq au Vin -two braised drumsticks, red wine, smoked bacon, shallots, and mushrooms. We had the savoury cake sale and the flavour was vegetable. Finally to round off the meal we had pommes duchesse w/horseradish, chive aïoli, and truffle oil. We also tried some seasonal cocktails. Service was friendly and professional. Food came out in timely manner. The ambiance was cozy and a great place to chat. Food was amazing as usual. Favourite was the devilled eggs but I really appreciated the chou farcie. The flavour was delicous and my hubby appreciated that it was mostly meat. You really can't go wrong here! Just order whatever you are feeling like and you won't be disappointed.

Partake is a gem on Sundays with their Sunday Sips & Snacks - $8 cocktails and snacks under $10. Such a beautiful cozy space (or enjoy their lovely patio), you'll want to linger and take your time here. Service is fabulous and so friendly, and the drinks are strong and well made. We love the food - dare I say, the best french onion soup in the city? (And just $6 on the Sunday snack menu!!) The charcuterie options change constantly, as does the flavour for the complimentary popcorn to nibble on (brown butter & dill the night we were there). From the regular menu, absolutely get the tartare. The flavours, the texture - every bite was perfect.

The gentleman who served us was attentive, knowledgeable and well. . . . he should be, turns out he's the owner! He busses his own tables, serves his customers and is all around a very amazing person. Try the Mushroom Soup - it's to die for, NOT KIDDING! You can try the white or rye bread with a red peppered flavored, whipped butter. So good :) Hubby had Free Range Pesto Chicken Breast over Linguini, while I had the Free Range Breaded Chicken a la Rousse (Stuffed with Salmon, white wine dill cream sauce) - - - save your pennies and just do it, visit here. To top off hubby's birthday we had the Sticky Date Pudding "served warm with ice cream, whipped cream & topped with hot caramel sauce" as per the menu, but it does not do it justice (picture included) I had the Terrine of Sorbets "layered black cherry, lemon, mango, served with champagne" - they actually pour the champagne over the sorbet, deeee-lish! I've included pictures of the sorbet, the sticky pudding and mushroom soup. Not the chicken dinners, as I was too busy enjoying it and felt a bit bad not staying engaged in the experience. EXCELLENT service, food and beverages!! ----- Do yourself a favor, and just go!

Free parking in the back. I love their pate dishes. The foie gras and goose liver are to die for. Yum.i could eat this all day everyday. The fruit preserves are always complementing the dish perfectly. The venison, steak, lamb, veal, and duck are always tender and flavourful. Some of these dishes are only daily specials so ask your server. The desserts are great too. I personally prefer the apple crisp. The chocolate mousse and creme caramel are a bit underwhelming but the crisp is very very good. At lunch they have great daily specials which are quick and u can be in and out in 40 min flat. Sitting by the window is amusing as well. Free parking in the back.

Our server, Pam was attentive right from the start and throughout the meal. She was assisted by Linnea (sorry, not sure of the spelling) who was over the top. We were sharing a side salad so we asked for a 2nd plate. She was happy to help and asked if we wanted some tongs to split it. So helpful! We ordered the Chocolate Decadence and it was incredible - GF cake, chocolate espresso, raspberry Coulier and burnt honey ice cream. It was amazing! We love this place and will come back again and again! West end Gem!

They are my go to dishes and they never disappoint. Tons of fresh ingredients locally sourced I feel like it's healthier than other fast food joints. The onion rings are probably some of the best in edmonton. They come freshly battered and seasoned. And I love putting some in my burgers too! I recently tried this place for the January $2 classic burger special and man was it an amazing deal. For $2 it was awesome to support local since I ordered so much extras..the cook actually thought it was for 2 people. Lol. I just have bigger eyes than a stomach! Pro tip: add the onion rings to your burger. It makes it so much more delicious!

We didn't think that was likely on a Tuesday so we phoned and they said come on down. When we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty. Very strange. Service was fast and pleasant. So I've been inside (on the Made by Marcus side) but didn't realize that there were tables in the back for Wilfred's. I really like how they combined that space for both establishments, that was pretty smart. We met with friends and slid into one of the comfy booths in the back. I really liked the colors and style of Wilfred's seating area. It felt cozy, homey, it had such an overall cool vibe. I got an Iced Matcha Lavender Latte with oat milk. It was delicious, perfectly sweet from the lavender syrup and the oat milk was creamy. Matcha was earthy and the drink's components complemented each other very well. I absolutely loved my drink. My boyfriend got the Chicken and Waffles (with a side salad) and I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich which came with a side of fries. I liked my chicken sandwich, I chose mild because I wanted to experience all the flavors incorporated in the dish. Chicken was good, pickles were the cherry on top for me (though I wish they added a little bit more), but for me the stars of the show were the sauces. The Thai Basil Mayo and the Hot Honey Glaze complemented the chicken so well. It was creamy, mayo was light, and the hot honey gave that hint of sweetness and spice. For the Chicken and Waffles, the chicken was good but the waffles were okay. My boyfriend was left disappointed by it. We expected crispy outside and light and fluffy interior, but it was dense throughout the whole waffle. He said it tasted like it was an old reheated waffle. I liked the Hot Chicken Sandwich but I don't think I'd pay $20 for it. It was good, but I'm not sure if it's $20 good. But the service was great. Our server was attentive, friendly, and was also willing to remake a drink if it wasn't what we expected. She was very sweet. Also on our receipt we got 15% off an ice cream scoop from Made by Marcus. We had a good experience and enjoyed our time here.
