Boston now has a decent amount of coffee shops but this is still my favorite. They make an excellent latte, hot or iced, where you can actually taste the coffee and the flavor is always house made. Grab a pastry from their pastry case along with your latte. You cannot go wrong. We've tried almost all of them and some hot favorites are the tea cakes, palmier cookie, and pistachio croissant. For the desserts, try the halva bomb or the one with passion fruit matcha. If you're hungrier than that, the croissant sandwich sounds ordinary but it hits the spot. Simple and sweet. read more

Kind of disappointed in this Tatte. I ordered a flat white for dine in and was given a sign with a number. I waited about 10 minutes before I walked over to the coffee bar and saw my order there. Whoever was working at the coffee bar did not call out my name and clearly no one brought the drink to me as I expected. I saw the exact same thing happen to another customer. That aside, the drink was good, but of course not as hot as I would have been had I gotten it as soon as it was done. I wasn't a fan of the overall vibe of this location either. It's smaller than other Tatte locations so it feels cramped when it's busy. Customers left menus and dirty plates everywhere. While the employees I interacted with were nice, most of them were busier with sweeping and/or talking to other employees than cleaning tables or helping customers. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sourdough toasted was perfection. Pastries seemed just a tad bit stale but we're still delicious. The coffee was excellent! We ordered both the house and just a regular latte with oat milk and we all said the regular one just went better with our treats. The honey halvah is just a tad too sweet. The servers and cashiers seemed a bit bothered to be there but it was pretty busy so it's understandable. It was pretty crowded inside on a weekend morning, but there was still outdoor seating. Our third time at Tatte during our five day trip in Boston, first time at this location. Not much outdoor seating at this location, only a handful of small tables, plus at the time in the morning we arrived they were right in the sun, so to stay cool we opted for a seats at the countertop inside. We loved the savory french toast earlier in the week, so got it again and this time also tried the eggs with parmesan and prosciutto on sourdough. While there was nothing wrong with the latter dish, I probably wouldn't get it again or recommend it, there are better options to try. We also had to grab one final almond croissant to take with us as a snack before our flight! :) If you are debating trying this place out, do yourself a favor and do not wait any longer before you try this gem! Visiting Boston from CA and went to try Tatte bakery for breakfast with family. When server gal drops my breakfast plate in front of me spilling the salsa all over my shorts and all over plate. Bacon flew off the plate unto table. She asks me if I still want another breakfast made to which we responded yes because bacon went on table and salsa all over plate. She takes plate away. She did apologize but didn't bother cleaning up the table or offering me napkins or water to clean my shorts. I didn't make a big deal and once plate returned I ate it. Before leaving I asked the same server (gal with scarf around head) I didn't get her name -- if I could get a box to go for my croissant. She gives me a box for food so I said no can I please have pastry box. Server gal rolls her eyes at me and walks away to get box. I was very surprised by her reaction. Upon handing me the pastry box I told her I didn't appreciate her rolling her eyes at me after everything that happened. She walked away from me and said nothing. I did talk with the supervisor on shift who just apologized but manager clearly knew who I was talking about. What surprised me the most was server made no extra effort after to make things better for me as the customer. Same goes for manager. We spent over $200 for breakfast that morning with a family of 7. We were not impressed with the breakfast. Threw most of it away, eggs, bacons. Toast comes with no butter and I had to ask for jelly. The only thing worth it was the pastries and latte. Otherwise I wouldn't visit this place again. Place is busy but we managed to gather some chairs at the communal table. Busy place, lots of students. We found street parking. read more

Tatte is one of the best coffee places in Boston with unique flavors in their drinks and food alike. The drinks and food are both a bit pricey, but comparable to other nicer coffee shops in the area. They have a nice environment for working, but you may have trouble finding a table, since it is usually packed. read more

But IMO it has more of a morning/afternoon kinda vibe, or maybe that's just me since I've never been there late enough for dinner. Walked her last Saturday during the blizzard as they were one of the only businesses open (for a partial day) in the area. Dined in for brunch. Food: 4/5 The food itself is a 5/5, but it's a little pricey, even with respect to comparable places in the area. We got the traditional shakshuka, with avocado. It was very good, fresh, hot, as always. Eggs perfectly cooked, and I swapped the challah for multigrain, which I enjoyed more flavor wise with the dish. We also got the Turkey avocado sandwich, which was very good, but bread was a little dry. Service: 5/5 Food was ready quickly, and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Great place to grab a drink, snack, and grind out some work. It was very busy on Saturday morning, but if you get here early enough you'll secure yourself a spot with reliable, fast wifi, plenty of outlets, and a clean restroom. The staff was very friendly and I ordered an oat milk capp, which was excellent, with a pistachio croissant. Both items were excellent and I enjoyed them in a comfortable, aesthetically pleasing space. All together, it was a little over $10 but well worth the treat. read more

A beautiful Friday in March and the perfect start to the day! First time at Tatte and it was delicious. I had the breakfast sandwich- eater beware this sandwich was huge! A half portion would suit me but I did my best to conquer it. The biscuit sandwich was smaller with a nice tomato salad. The avocado toast was also tasty with a nice lime flavor. I started this review by listing out all the killer items on the menu. Then I realized I was basically just re-typing the menu. So I'll leave it at this - if it looks good on the menu, it will taste good in your mouth. General Tatte awesomeness aside, this location pretty much set the standard for how to operate in a pandemic. They were the first to go full mask and gloves, and their pickup process has been smooth and safe from the outset. I think my review is based on the level of my expectations for this place. I have heard so much of a wonderful Boston staple chain of coffee shops - chic, upscale, with high quality coffee, food and service. On the plus side the cafe is lovely decorated and provides ample seating. However, the place seems busy all the time and people are struggling to find space. I was definitely counting on a high quality coffee- it was not my favorite, and not cheap. The pastry I tried was fine, but again I was expecting something more... I've been constantly visiting this Coolidge Corner location since their opening and almost tried all the breakfast, brunch and Shakshouka items. Everything is delish yet unique. Even just for a traditional easy sandwich, they add some innovative idea to the recipes that can highlight the taste. Their pastries and cakes have been significantly underrated. Overall, none of the desserts are oversweet, unlike many other pastries with excessive sugar that upset your stomach. I always order a dessert for any birthday or holiday celebration. The cheesecake is light and creamy; Tiramisu is soaked in the Stumptown coffee aroma ( Stumptown is one of my favorite coffee roasters); the various pies during Thanksgiving are perhaps the best in town; Halva's cocoa flavor is a chocolate bomb. Buche de Noel is legit--every bite has just the right amount of sweetness, cream and berries. It's served just during Christmas. I can't find a miss for everything I've tried, sweet or savory. I'm from CT and Tatte is always my go to for coffee and a quick bite when I'm in town. Get something from their bakery -- chocolate croissant is always a good choice! I tried their matcha which was great too. Their chicken salad sandwich is SO good, especially on a croissant. I love the vibes at any of the Tattes. It's like a French cafe meets modern vibe. I'd describe this establishment as an upscale, chic bakery. There's a few locations throughout the Boston area and this ones pretty good. Prices are on the slightly higher side for a bakery, but their food is fresh and well-prepared. Quick service, and a good place for lunch. I often see people working here with a cup of coffee too. Harvard Street - Brookline, MA : Ordered a sandwich off the menu earlier today and specifically told the Tatte employee that I could not eat onions so would appreciate removing. Sure enough the sandwich is handed to me with onions and the employee responds with "that's how the sandwich comes..." Here comes the best part - After reminding her I asked her for no onions and that I'm unable to eat the sandwich so at this point would prefer a refund, she responds with "i cannot give you a refund, but can offer a discount!!!". The employee proceeds to become belligerent and intimidating. Other customers are staring at her in disbelief. I was so upset, I left the premises with no refund and no sandwich. Only when my daughter walks in , upon hearing of the incident, successfuly receives a refund after declaring how unacceptable the Tatte employee and customer service was. It is no wonder that Tatte is constantly in the news for allegations of harrassment amongst staff. Sadly, it appears that culture has migrated to tratment of their customers. We have been Tatte loyalists since day 1. But today that has changed and we will take our business elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to MA from CA & was looking for a good cafe. I've now been to so many Tatte locations in Boston (because I'm now obsessed). I popped by this location to grab an iced vanilla latte & some baked goods... I'm never disappointed! So delicious! The interior is clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I love trying different bakery goods. The cheesecake cup is *divine*, the Dutch cranberry apple pie is scrumptious and the buttermilk biscuit is so goood! As with all the Tatte locations, the new Coolidge Corner location is beautiful. And delicious. The same quality that you'll find at the other locations is there, and it's significantly bigger than the Fenway and Brookline locations that I usually go to. You pretty much can't go wrong. I haven't tried many of the desserts, but these are for sure the best pastries in Boston. I highly recommend the almond croissant and the ginger morning bun. To drink, you will never go wrong with the house latte, hot or iced. It's halva and honey, and it's delicious. Major catering fail with online ordering. Although the cafe is open until 8pm, the latest you can pick up an online order is 4:45 pm. Do not bother calling, because the catering department has a recorded message that they're all too busy to take your call, and the cafe does not understand why this is an issue, much less how to resolve it. read more
