I don't recommend this shop to anyone, especially not to LGBTQ+ folks looking for a safe, respectful place to get work done. There are plenty of other artists in Rockford who do better work and treat their clients with basic decency. read more

I guess you get what you pay for, but you should absolutely NOT be putting your clients at risk like this. Got my dahlias pierced here and the bars they used were FAR too small. The piercings were eventually completely swallowed on the inside. Terrible staff, as well. read more

I would give this place a lower rating but it isn't possible. My septum is crooked, my industrial got severely infected even though I took very good care of it, and my nostril piercing got keloids after the first two weeks. My mom's tattoo that she recently got, was done too deep and there was severe bruising. The same thing happened with my dad's, plus she missed a spot. I'm visiting from out of town and just wanted jewelry put in my nose and tragus. Both have been pierced for 20 years and I've gone through phases of wearing jewelry/not wearing jewelry. Dude tried to shove the jewelry in dry, no type of lubricant, told me my piercings were closed and needed to be re-pierced. He actually made my tragus bleed from trying to shove the jewelry in. He also said nose piercings close in 48 hours (once healed, they most certainly do not). He had never even heard of a taper pin. Additionally my niece got her nose pierced and he didn't check with a flashlight before piercing. 0/5 would not recommend for piercing. Dude clearly has No idea WTF he's doing. My mother was a body piercer for 20ish years. I grew up around this and was an apprentice/piercer for a few years myself. When I came back to my hotel room, unsurprisingly, I was able to get jewelry in both my nose and tragus BECAUSE LUBE. Do not go here. read more

I would give these people a higher star if possible. They was just amazing. The man that did my two piercings, Christina and bottom belly button, was great. He made me feel comfortable when I was nervous. He answered all of my questions and even told me he was available to call anytime. Really put my mind at ease. My piercings have healed faster and easier than any other shop I've been too, didn't even have crusties. I've had my belly done about 5 times, every other place I went to my belly ring got infected and/or rejected. My belly ring here has healed perfectly with absolutely 0 issues. My Christina piercing is the same way. Felt healed a week in w zero complications. Would 110% recommend. read more

The guys who run this place don't greet you and aren't very welcoming. They act like they don't want you there because of their sarcastic comments. How can you run a respectable business acting like that? My friend wanted a septum piercing. They advertise "Home of the $10 piercing." Well, nice false advertising. It was $20 so I offered to pay for it with my card. I put the card on the counter and he says "Our ATM loves those" in a smart-ass tone. What did I do to you, and how should I know I can't pay with my card? I asked "Where is your ATM?" and points and says "Over there!" like he was tired of dealing with me. What the hell was his problem? My friend got her septum pierced too low and it was crooked. It didn't look like it was professionally done. I wonder if the guy who did it has an actual piercing license. All in all, it was a terrible experience. So don't give these rude idiots any of your money. read more

I've gotten 4 piercings done at tattoo bobs (3 in my ear & my belly button) and all of them have turned out great and none have gotten infected. However, if you're looking for a place for lots of small talk & comforting atmosphere, this place may not be for you. I've been here on 3 different occasions for my nose, septum, and ashley piercings in the span of a little over a year. Never had an issue and was always well informed on how to care for them. I called before arriving as I was curious to see if the piercer could put a clear retainer in my nose instead of a stud when he pierced it. Mind you, this was not my first nose piercing nor was it my first piercing in general. I was told this was not possible, and that if I needed to hide the piercing for work, I can just put a bandaid over it. (Thanks, genius.) So I arrived and was trying to make small talk with the piercer (dark hair, dermal face piercing, lip ring) and he was incredibly curt with me. I brushed it off because maybe he is just quiet. I asked him if they sold hoop nose rings for when I eventually want to swap mine out and he said that I need to have the hoop "custom made"...which isn't necessarily true...I could just buy a hoop. I also asked if it was possible to put a different type of nose ring other than the "L" shaped rings, as I have had my nose pierced before and the bent part always manages to turn and stick out of the nostril. He informed me that he would rotate the bent part into my nostril so it wouldn't be a problem...? Right...but what happens when it rotates? He said it wouldn't unless i messed with it...also untrue. I'm sitting there thinking that I really shouldn't let this guy stick a needle through my nose, but I do anyway because I already paid him. I asked him if he could please talk to me to distract me...and he just stuck the needle in. He didn't sanitize my nose, he didn't verbally explain the aftercare. If this was my first piercing I would not have known what to do... Unhappy but still pleasant, I left. Unfortunately, my car is rear wheel drive and I was not able to back up over the snow and ice. I tried to get myself unstuck for about ten minutes, but couldn't. Mind you, I'm directly in front of tattoo bobs. I walked in and explained the situation and asked if he could assist me. He sighed and asked the owner (Bob) if he wanted to help me get my car out. Bob loudly sighed and said, "not really..." As he was putting on his jacket. Are you kidding me? I refused their help and walked out. I spent another 15 minutes trying to get my car over a tiny snow mound until some random people took 2 minutes to help me. All in all, very bad customer service. I know you guys don't make much off of piercings, but if you're going to act like an ass anytime somebody comes in to get one done, don't advertise how cheap they are. That's how to get a bad rapport and make people never want to visit your shop for tattoos (which I'm in the market for). I will not be returning. read more

$10 piercings sound nice, right? I must have gone to their other location over a year ago to get my septum pierced. The only reason I went is because a friend who had been there before was going, so we got our septums done together. I forget the name of the guy who did them, but he was great. We both got a little lightheaded after getting pierced, and he let us lay on the chair, offered us water, etc. I had minimal pain while at the shop and no problems afterwards. Well, I went to get the side of my nose done last night at this Forest Hills location. No idea what his name is, I think his initials were SB. He rushed my BF and I, left blood around both of our piercings, and a few hours later I realized that he didn't pierce straight through my nose, and went on almost a 45 degree angle. I really don't think this is normal. The flat "diamond" on the bar he put in it faces up. I was thinking that maybe it just looks crooked because it's brand new, but I looked at it for a good 5 minutes with a magnifying mirror (while cleaning it) and it's very obvious. $10 or $60, if you're a professional body piercer, you should probably demonstrate that. NEVER coming back here again. read more

I had an awful experience at Tattoo Bobs. I got my nose pierced & told the extremely grumpy man I have never done it before & he never asked which size hole I wanted, which stud, nothing. I have no idea what my hole size it at ALL. He didn't tell me how to clean it or when I can change it. He pierced me, then said "that's 10 bucks." He also accidentally impaired my chin with a needle which then started bleeding profusely. I will NEVER go back to this place and I NEVER recommend it. read more

I got my triple helix done here (its 3 cartilage piercings) and I am beyond upset if you look up pictures or if you have any common sense at all you would know that they should be even...they are so uneven it's ridiculous it looks like a blind person pierced me it's seriously that bad I have no idea how they could have messed it up I was perfectly still I took it like a champ so they can't put any blame on me...and this is not something that will just close up overnight now I have to wait probably over a year just to get it done THE RIGHT WAY all because they obviously don't care if the piercing gets done right and not only that there rude too so if I go back and complain they will try to find any reason to say that it was my fault and that's bs they never take responsibility! If I could get this place shut down I would I really don't understand how you can mess up something so simple they should know that this is someone's body and this is forever not just oh I think I'll wear this for a day. if you can't do something right don't do it at all!
