If you're looking to get a tattoo, Delicious Ink is the place to go. All of the artists are very personable and professional, and the entire parlor has a very cool feel to it. There are antiques, gaffs, and independent artwork all over the place--even the toilet seat is a custom piece of art. Everyone did a great job of making us feel comfortable for the full 5 hours I was under the needle. I'm pretty paranoid when it comes to finding the right tattoo artist--and Brooke Englehart, the incredibly talented artist who did my tattoo did such an amazing job, I cannot recommend her enough. I've never seen shading done so well on a tat before, and she was able to focus my 10000 ideas into the start of a sleeve that looks both complete as it is, but was also made so that it is open ended for continuation at any time. I will absolutely be going back to Brooke for all my tattoo work in the future--and to get an old tattoo corrected and reincorporated back into another existing piece I have. If it can be done, I am completely confident Brooke can make it happen! Overall, I found the entire experience to be very pleasant and was not put off by a single aspect of the parlor. I'd highly recommend booking an appointment with Brooke if you're looking to get completely awesome original tattoo work done. Love this place, love Brooke, and I WILL be coming back again soon. Where do I start? Pristine tattoo parlor. This place is so clean and welcoming. Ever walk into a tattoo shop and immediately get the feeling you're not welcome there? You won't get that here. I have always been greeted with a smile. This is so important especially if its your virgin tattoo or piercing experience! Plus there's tons of fun artwork a sculptures to look at to help ease any nerves you may be having (worked for me each time!). We went in for a "couples tattoo" that we had been discussing with Jennie for a while. Soon as we walked in she had the stencils drafted up and ready to go. We always trust her extremely professional and knowledgeable opinion when finalizing our ideas. She has NEVER steered us wrong. While she is fast, she is also extremely detailed. All of our outlining and shading was done perfectly. I could not have asked for a better outcome. Jennie 1,000% exceeded our expectations. There is a reason we drive to Rockford from Chicago just to see her. There is a reason I wait 2-3 months for an appointment with her when she's all booked up. I had been curious about Delicious Ink for a long time, as they have a solid reputation for putting out quality work. So I decided the bite the metaphorical bullet and get my nostril pierced as a means of testing the waters. The shop itself is amazing, extremely well put together, immaculately clean, and you have an instant feeling of being in a professional environment. The piercer (John) was a little stand-offish with me at first, which rubbed me the wrong way a bit at first but, as a former piercer myself, I know it's hard to get excited about doing a nostril piercing for what feels like the billionth time. It could have just been an off day for him though so I didn't hold it against him and he seemed to warm up a bit through conversation. The price is what most people will struggle with compared to lower quality shops, $97 after 20% tip, but the thing to keep in mind is that you're paying for their experience and for quality. I happily recommend giving them a shot whether you're a first timer or a veteran to the business and I'm looking forward to paying them another visit. read more

I've been tattooed here a few times & I really, really love their work, I plan to go back for more tattoos! It's clean, the artists are fantastic & everyone is friendly & helpful. The only reason I'm not rating the shop with 5 stars is because I called about getting my 7 year old daughter's ears pierced & they're charging $75/ear! That is just crazy! I really wanted to take her there because it's a trusted local business that I'm familiar with. I went to Delicious Ink today to get a navel piercing. I read so many reviews on all the tattoo/piercing places in Rockford, and Euro Tattoo has been getting so many scary, infectious problems reviews. Delicious Ink had 4.8 out of 5 on one site, and 5 on Yelp. So off I went. Tim Atwell was so nice and I was nervous and a little shaky but he talked me right through all the steps and of course it wasn't as "world ending" as i thought it would be. He told me all the precautions and not to touch the piercing at all, which my last naval pierce guy told me to clean it every day and it got so painful and infected. Overall I am super happy with my new pink belly jewelry that was cleaned for 10 minutes in the Autoclave! And it literally doesn't hurt me at all to move! Cost me 45$ total, (STILL CHEAP) but i opted to get the titanium metal instead of stainless steel, so it probably cost more, but I know the saying goes, " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!" Don't learn it the hard way!! I did. Thank You Delicious Ink! Also the place has a cool antiquey design inside so there's lots to look at! read more

One of the best places to get a tattoo in Rockford, I had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. Everyone is very personable there and the shop is very clean and sterile. I got a bicep tattoo with Tim and he does amazing work, it is an original design by him and I would recommend checking him and the other artists out. The line work and shading is very well done, I have to go back and get it colored and I am very excited for that. This place was really good! Granted, I didn't get a tattoo--I had just gotten one two weeks prior, so that itch was sufficiently scratched! I went with my sister to get an add-on to her tattoo. She had a celtic design that incorporated her son's name, and she needed to get her daughter's added on. She had originally gotten hers done in Louisiana, and hadn't appreciated the "shading" that was done around the design. Her tat artist at Delicious Ink changed all of that. She turned my sister's "shading" into something awesome that looked more like a tattoo and less like a sticker. The place was clean, the artist was fast, efficient, and she made a masterpiece! Delicious Ink pretty much already has the reputation of the best tattoo shop in Rockford (at least that's what I think). So it was a no brainer for me to come here for my next tattoo. The shop is very clean, everyone was very nice. Jennie was absolutely wonderful to work with. She's super sweet, and she worked with me on my tattoo she did on my side. She did an absolutely amazing job and I am so happy with it! She was very flexible with design but also gave me her experienced opinion it. I had originally wanted something smaller but we decided to go bigger and I am so happy we did. I will definitely see her again when I'm ready for my next one! read more

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to get a simple wedding band tattoo to surprise my wife for Mother's Day. When I arrived, there were three workers and no customers. When they finally came over to ask why I had come in, they stated there was no one available to help me. They checked their schedule and stated I could come back in three weeks for their next opening. Really?!? I drove two miles away to Euro Tattoo. They took care of me immediately. Truthfully i don't think it gets any better than Delicious ink, The place is raw and honest and great at what they do, every artist in the place does amazing work, however i have only been tattooed by the only for all 22 of my pieces, his name is Tim. He will be brutally honest to you and you're ideas which is a good thing trust me, remember he is the professional not you. The shop is very clean and very organized. They take safety and sterilization very seriously. They take the smallest idea and turn it into something you would never expect. There is nothing more stressful than getting into a situation that you have no idea on how to handle. Last week I found myself in just that situation. My friend had her tragus pierced over 1 year ago. Recently the jewelry failed and was stuck in her ear. She asked me to remove it, but I honestly had zero experience with body piercings. She attempted to go into a local store in Florida. Since she had not had it placed there, they refused to look at it. As panic set in, we had no idea what to do. I called Tim, a friend of a friend back in WI, that I knew once owned a tattoo shop. I had not seen Tim in many years. Of course it was Friday night at 8 pm. However that did not stop him from helping us. He was in Vegas at a conference, stepped out, called me on Facetime, and helped instruct me through the process of what I would need to do to remove this piercing properly. He was professional and patient with us. There was so much relief when we successfully removed the piercing. I wanted to express that we are truly thankful for your help Tim. I was immediately greeted by Tim who was incredibly professional and put me at ease. He explained each step and what I should expect. Delicious Ink is a unique tattoo parlour. The inside of the building itself is wonderfully decorated with murals done by the tattoo artists themselves. I had a foot tattoo done by Brooke when I came in, and my friend had a feather done on her ribs (also by Brooke). Both tattoos came out great, and Brooke was extremely friendly. For a first time tattoo goer, I had a great experience and Brooke really put me at ease. If you're a first-timer and hesitant this place is about as comfortable as a tattoo shop can get. I have been here several times to more than one artist and they have all been great. Me and my sister visited Delicious Ink about 2 weeks ago. We were recommended by another shop, we called last minute so I was not expecting them to say come in, but they did! When we got there we had an idea of what we wanted. My sister drew hers up and was ready to go..me on the other hand was not. Tim Atwell spent some time drawing a few things up for me and explaining to me the correct process of planning out a tattoo (thank you so much for this knowledge) had he not done that I think I would not have been happy with my tattoo. Long story short I was apprehensive about going to a new tattoo shop however I was very pleased with Issac (he did my sisters tattoo it was her first) and Tim who did mine, they were both very friendly, knowledgeable, comforting, and great artists. Went to Delicious Ink to get quotes & schedule appts for tattoos for myself, husband, & son. Read some good reviews on Jason, Solvej, & Jennie so we thought we would check them out. This would be my first tattoo, my sons first & my husbands 3rd. We didn't even make it past the receptionist, Gabby, or whatever she is there. She was short with us, seemed to be annoyed with us trying to explain & show her what we were wanting. We are very polite people & tried to give her the benefit of doubt but we felt like we were a waste of her time. Now just so you all know there was only one person in the back getting something done and no one else there waiting, it was definitely not a busy time. We were only in there for maybe 5-10 minutes, so it's not like were asking a ton of questions and part of that time she stopped to take a phone call. Also when we walked in the door behind us didn't close all the way, so we hear a guy from the back yelling to close the door, so my son hurried to close it...Geez. Just very unprofessional & not welcoming at all. Will not even bother to go back to check out the talent there because of that awful experience. I cannot fathom spending my hard earned money on a place that cannot show basic respect & manners toward the people who walk through their front door. read more

I recently got my septum pierced by Jennie. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! She took her time with me and was very patient. You can tell she knows her stuff. I felt like it was a very fair price for what I got (and for the peace of mind, knowing that they sterilized my ring for 15 mins and used gloves and all that good stuff). It was $40 before tip. I love Delicious Ink. I have been to other places including Millenium, European, Euro2, and Dreamline but I will never ever go anywhere else again. Tim Atwell is an amazing artist and a great person. I live in Chicago now and make trips home just to go there. All of my friends are devoted too. They do a great job, are affordable, they make you feel comfortable, and super friendly. Tim always goes out of his way to make our visits work out. Once he came in on his day off and another he stayed late to do some work for us.
