I told him what I was looking to get and where I wanted my tattoo located. He asked questions and after that found the artist best for what I was looking for. Being I wanted black and gray he suggested Som. Set up an appointment for like a week out and asked if I'd drop of a deposit. Finally came the day to get my tattoo, I met with Som and we went over my tattoo I let him know it was for my sister, and he came up with a bad ass design and her nick name. Som is a super cool dude and even with a guy with anxiety put me at ease and we chopped it up during the tattoo. The rest of the staff were super friendly as well. Once Som was done I was blown away by his work, even a day later I keep looking at his work and and super happy. I have plenty of tattoos on me, and Soms work stands out. I showed my sister and she definitely wants to come in when she's in town. I will definitely be back, the rest of the staff was friendly as well, everyone at least said hi as I walked by.

So I knew that's who I wanted to go to!! I've been toying with the idea for months but keep chickening out. But yesterday, I decided on a whim to go there so I just walked in. She was busy at the moment doing another piercing but the front desk girl was able get me in an hour later so I just went to target and shopped around while I was waiting. I was super nervous and anxious about it but she was so kind, calm and welcoming. She's also just a super cool person and easy to talk to, so it was a good distraction while she was getting everything ready. She was very gentle , clean and thorough. Explaining the process and everything she was doing as she was doing it. Her calm, welcoming personality really helped my anxiousness and ease my mind. She did the piercing and it was SO quick, barely hurt!! She put the jewelry in and I was done. She explained the healing and care process very thoroughly. The whole process from walking in, to paying and leaving, was 15mins tops!!! Prices are very reasonable! Basic jewelry was included with price but I paid a little extra for a gem. I'll go back in 2 months to see how it looks/if it's healing good and change the length of the bar if needed. I highly recommend Karissa to anyone who wants a piercing!!! she also does younger kiddos ears too!! I'd totally take my young daughter to her in a heartbeat if she wanted her ears pierced!!! Randomly called here looking for a walk-in shop. They didn't have availability that day but offered their next day appt which no other Santa Rosa shop did. I called five different shops in Santa Rosa and they were the only one to offer different options outside of walk in which I appreciated. Nick and Sean had availability next day for my friend and I to get small tattoos done. They were similar but different, the design had to be redone to have less black space (which I was 100% ok w). Didn't take a photo of mine but my friend took a photo of hers. Sean's more talkative, East bay folk that makes you feel at home and Nick is friendly but not too talkative which I prefer. We definitely got the matching artist to person. It took about 30 min for them to update the design from the original we offered and max of twenty minutes to tattoo on. While I would say my tattoo hurt more than my friends, I think I'm a little more sensitive than she is with pain. He's not heavy handed and I think a less sensitive spot that the fatty part of my inner arm may hurt less. They offered me a privacy wall since I was wearing a dress which is a plus for people wearing skirts/dresses. It's a clean space with friendly staff, open spacing and great ambience. They have their portfolio and some stuffed animals on the walls, which makes it more interesting. They require a $50 deposit via Venmo or PayPal but only accept cash for payment which was like, why can't I just pay virtually again?! However it's understandable and they have an ATM in the shop. I'm 100% thinking about getting my future tattoos done here. $100 shop minimum and our tattoos were $120 each. Immediate edit: this is the type of shop you want to go to when you're first getting into tattoos. They suggest how to make things better, ask your opinion and ask you questions that make you think about what you want. Even over the phone they asked do you have an idea? Color? Style? General idea? If you said I'm honestly not sure, I'm sure they'd help you figure it out.

I was nervous and shaky but super excited. My tattoo was a simple line design. I didn't catch the guy's name but I think he was blonde. He was super nice, and as soon as I laid down I was instantly comfortable and calm. It took maybe three to five minutes to complete, he bandaged it up and told me how to care for it, and that was that. Not the scary bleeding mess I was expecting after hearing tattoo horror stories from my mother for over half my life.
