This is my go to place for tattoos and piercings! Such nice artists with such beautiful work, their reception person is so sweet too. I love that they do flashes every month with different designs and guest artists. They also have super good prices for everything. About the prices. Drew didn't give not discount. Actually he rip me off. Example: If I'm going to paint a house in/out but I only paint half of the outside. I can't charge the full agreement. It is call common sense. The best thing you can do is keep your head down. Admit the mistake and work to improve. Stop insulting my intelligence. Lie about me being rude and disrespectful. Be honest. I feel like I should update my review after a while. I've never been the "one tattoo shop" kind of person but I have become a bit of a Glass Beetle loyalist. I've been tattooed by Emma, Loren, and Jared so far and will soon be getting tattooed by Gan. Every single experience has been absolutely perfect. I've interacted with almost every tattooer here at some point and every single person is insanely nice. There's no hyper-masculine douchebag energy here. There's no judgement. Everyone's having a good time and all of the artists are stellar at their craft. The good vibes are unmatched. If you're on the fence about this place, just go. Drue did an incredible butterfly tattoo on my friend. His work was done professionally and he was easy to talk to. The receptionist (Jessica? Jennifer? Something like that) on the other hand was something else and not in a good way. She repeatedly switched appointment times around, and could not seem to remember when she had ended up booking them for. This resulted in her scheduling my appointment for a day that there were no artists available and then trying to tell us that we were in the wrong. She had also initially had my friend's appointment booked with Jarod and failed to inform her that he was out of the shop for the day until we got there. I would suggest going to Faith Tattoo instead where they have their booking managed much more professionally! read more

This place is thee spot if you want a quality tattoo that's done safely, looks great and will last. I have been going to Glass Beetle for 4 years now and love them. I get my current stuff done by Loren Butchart and he's great. He's an easy-going guy who is game for trying new techniques, doing things that are a little off the wall and he creates gorgeous tattoos. He listens to you too, which is something I really love in a tattoo artist. Although it may be their artwork/hand/coloring and style, it's on my body and I want to make sure I feel really good about what I'm getting. Loren makes that happen. The shop is super clean, everyone there knows what they're doing safety wise and cleanliness wise and they are conveniently located off Mendocino Ave. by the JC. Before I end this review, I want to also add that the vibe in Glass Beetle is awesome. Tattoo shops can be really hectic, loud music, lots of swearing and just a fast-paced, 'too cool for school' vibe. I'm not conservative by any means so I'm not saying that swearing is the devils lingo- it's just when you're going to talk about a tattoo or going in for an appointment, you're probably a little nervous in some way. Whether it's the fact you're getting your very first piece, you're bad with pain or that you have to sit there for 4 hours and you're missing band practice. Am I happy with the outcome NO wish it would have been a better experience but it wasn't I've been going back and forth thinking if I should put this review but once I found the receipts it really pissed me off.. When I made the appointment to get my Tattoo with Amanda I had semi drawn what I wanted. She told me it was going to be $100 so I left $50 for deposit. When I arrived for my actual appointment to get it done she showed me what she had drawn. Unfortunately I didn't like it. So I showed her another option to which she wasn't so happy already that I didn't like what she had drawn. She showed me the next drawing that she had done. I was a little happier with it with the 3 paw prints inside the heart with my dogs iniciales. I also told her if she could please add a foot. The FOOT means a lot to me it's not me. It was a representative of all my "kids" anyway. She was done very quickly. When I had to go and pay I was thinking ok.. $50 more.. when the receptionist said $80 I was like wait what? I thought I had given $50 but maybe I had forgotten and given less. So I paid... a few days ago I found both receipts. The one for the deposit $50 and the other for $80 which says shops minimum $75 and a tip ( keep in mind I didn't say to leave a tip) $5. If she would have been nicer and not trying to push me out of the shop as soon as possible and done a good job with the tattoo I would be giving a better review on her. Not only do I have a bad tattoo with a foot that looks like penis. But the paws don't look like paws ether. read more

The lines were as clean as i wanted them and he was very patient with me as i was complaining about the pain!! Ive been to this shop 3 times now with friends to get tats. I had a piece done by Amanda, and she is AMAZING! I cannot stop staring at my new artwork, and I am so so so happy I did my research and waited for her to be available. She was about 2 months out, but it was well worth the wait. She is super personable, an amazing artist, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I had a Dali elephant done on my inner forearm. It is a small space to put the kind of detail the art requires, and she executed it perfectly. It is beautiful. She was meticulous and made sure I was happy throughout our session together. She is also just a really nice person to talk to. I was a little nervous, since I hadn't had a tattoo done in 10 years, and she put me at ease immediately. I felt like I was just chatting with my friend the entire time. She gave me all the aftercare products I needed, and answered every single question I asked. I highly recommend her to anyone. The woman at the front desk is hilarious--she was making me laugh within 45 seconds of being in the door. My entire experience with this shop was above and beyond what I was expecting. So my son wanted to get his first tattoo on his 18th birthday. We went into the store and scheduled it about a month in advance. There was a young guy that set the reservation and took my deposit. The tattoo artist was supposed to be a woman (can't remember her name). When we showed up we were told that the tattooist was in Europe and the day was booked solid. Obviously we were upset. We ended up being referred to another shop who took us as a walk in so it all worked out. The next day, Andy called (I think he said he was an owner) to apologize. He was very sincere and apologized several times. He said he would like to make it up to us by giving us a discount on a tattoo. I really appreciated Andy calling me and his honest apology. This alone will ensure that when I want my next tattoo, I will go to Glass Beetle. Also, my son took him up on his offer on his second tattoo and it came out absolutely perfect!
