NEVER EVER GET Anything done....especially a piercing at Tattoo Seen in Throgs Neck, Bronx, NY. I had my nose pierced by their piercer Cam, who is AMAZING and did an excellent job with the initial piercing.. However, a month later the jewelery gem fell off and they refuse to replace it...and will only SELL me a piece. The person who answered the phone, a RUDE WOMAN named Gabby, was extremely unprofessional and I will make sure that every place I can post or call to report this I will... as well as make sure I spread by word of mouth NOT to go there. Coming in for my second tattoo the receptionist was giving an attitude to the questions I was asking. It seemed as if he was annoyed to answer. But I didn't mind it and continued on with the conversation. Towards the end to finally book my appointment asking about how much the deposit is, he took a heavy sigh and spoke to me as if I was a child, or as if it was common sense. This lead to me not even scheduling the appointment and walking out the store. I get everyone has a bad day however this is not good customer service skills. I got my tattoo done here over a year ago by Mike and I like this place. I think it depends on who you get when they see you cuz some of the staff members can be a little "hood." But I personally think that the "receptionists" attitude shouldn't matter just as long as your tattoo comes out the way you want it too cuz its something you're going to have on you forever unless you want to spend the money and get it removed, which I heard is more painful then getting the tattoo itself. I wouldn't say Tattoo Seen isn't the worst tattoo shop, but I certainly wouldn't choose to go there again. The reception staff was decently friendly, no problems there. I forget the name of my tattooist i had, he is a brunette male. I am not recommending this place because I just don't think the quality of work I received was good. During my tattoo session I found out that the tattooist was an overworked, stoner. I have nothing against stoners, but if you are overworked (and probably under qualified to begin with) combined with being burnt (from smoking pot) it just does not make a recipe for a good tattoo. All I wanted to get was the addition of some tribal work to a tribal shoulder tattoo I already had. In the end I paid like $130 for 3 mediocre tribal lines added to what I already had. Went to get a tattoo at Tattoo Seen during my last week of vacation on August 23 , 2017 . Went in with a few ideas for a cross for my arm . The guy at the front desk was very helpful and Prospect was the artist that helped me out and came out with the final design. The place is spotless everywhere you look. Tattoo Seen has zero integrity...if you're looking to get a tattoo, buyer beware!! They will try to rip you off. I recently "got had" and regret going there. While the work they did was ok in quality, the quote $160 per hour was based on the premise, the time it would take to complete the tattoo, was an hour and it wasn't. The artist's name is Phil and pretty coincidental that some positive reviews below were written by someone named Phil. Hmmmm. Conversely, I went to a shop in Brooklyn namely Brooklyn Made Tattoo and they were unbelievably professional and their prices were totally reasonable. First let me begin with whoever wrote that review about Pon must of been having a bad day. (Or maybe she didn't get what she really wanted.) :) I can not honestly say much about the store due to meeting Pon at the Tattoo Convention in Boston. Now the convention is mainly used for ones looking for big pieces. After checking with a few other artists and getting a snooty 'we don't do small pieces here go away' attitude, my friends and I came across Tattoo Seen. My friend spoke with Pon first, and he was more than accommodating and happy to do her small piece. Once I spoke with him I also knew that he was going to do my arm piece. My friend ended up getting hers done by another artist there, who was wicked friendly and awesome too. (I am SO sorry I forgot your name!) Pon proceeded to do my work, and then I ended up wanting one more small piece on my inner wrist (because my girl got two) and he did not even blink and only charged me for the new needle. (He was not aware I was wanting two at this point.) He was so friendly and funny. Also, the work that we both got exceeded our expectations, while being very, very reasonable. Overall, I have to say it was one of the best tattoo experiences I have had. (And I do have a few.) I plan on making a trip to NY soon. Here is to you Tattoo Seen. You guys rock. Period. read more

I have been getting my ink done at Tattoo Seen since I was 17 years old (back when you were allowed to get tattooed under the age of 18 with a parent's consent.) Over the course of 10 years, 9 of my 18 tattoos have been done by various artists at Seen. I have always been happy with the service provided as well as the quality of work. I have personally been tattooed by Melissa, Mr. Den, Handsome Pete and my brother had 2 gorgeous pieces done by Prospect. The shop is beyond clean and the staff is super sweet. After a revamp of the front desk staff (the old front staff honestly was not too friendly) I enjoy coming into the shop even more! Got my septum pierced here a few days ago for $40. The shop was super clean but I had to go find something to do and come back because the piercer wasn't there when the shop opened. She was very thorough when it came to talking me through the process and healing. She even pulled out different jewelry so I could see which one fit my face better and then clamped my nose and held the needle in place and waited till she felt my body was ready to pierce me. It hurt insanely for a minute or two afterward and my eyes watered but I'm pleased with the experience and will definitely come back to her when I'm ready to get pierced again. I saw Maggie back in June for my very first tattoo. Uncomfortable doesn't even begin to describe how uncomfortable she made me & my boyfriend feel. She seemed annoyed with everything. Just rude all around. I tried taking a picture and she came out of her face for that too . The shop is clean and bright as the lighting is good; however, my artist Pete was quiet, polite & professional the downside is he didn't put much thought and effort into my piece as the letters are juvenile and scream inexperienced. I can only blame myself as I was not pleased with the stencil and I still allowed him to put ink to it. I'll wait until it heals to see if it looks better; however, I'm not impressed with his work. Out of nowhere I decided to go get my nostril pierced. I figure since I live in the neighborhood, I can get it done here. Bad idea! Since it was an impulsive thing, I didn't do my research. The female that pierced me was nice, but that doesn't mean she did a good job. First of all it hurt like hell and to top it off she nix me in two different spots. There was no stopper used for the needle. So if you flinched the needle just might nix you, which in my case it happened. The piercing was in the middle of my nostril. Looked horrible. I didnt think much of it until I took a good look and realized that is not the look I'm going for. It is what ppl would call a "Tupac piercing". it was NOT CHIC!!! I couldn't get use to how it looked, so I called. Luckily she wasn't there and I would have to come in the next day. It gave me time to think and do research. Thank god I didn't make a second mistake to get it re-pierced at the same place (Seen Tattoo). Don't get your nostril pierced here. I found a way better place! read more

I went in as a walk in in 2012 to get a small ribbon tattoo, something I figured was easy enough and simple enough that it wouldn't really matter what artist I went to. I had heard good things about Tattoo Seen, and figured I'd give it a try. I'm only writing this post so much later because I look at the picture and still laugh at the quality of what I received. Thankfully, I was able to go back to the tattoo artist I usually go to in White Plains, and even though it took him two touch-ups to get it where it needed to be, it finally looks like what I wanted. The staff was friendly enough at Tattoo Seen, but I am astonished at the lack of quality for such a simple tattoo. Maybe I just picked the wrong artist, I wanna say his name was Prospect or something along those lines. I'm not mad, I just look at the original product and laugh.... the messy lines and uneven shape are just astonishing to me. If you look at the picture close enough, you can also see that there was an slip up in the hole of the ribbon that he tried to cover up with white ink. On the other hand, I went with a friend, and she got some lettering done by someone else. Hers came out good, and I know she's happy, so I definitely learned the importance of researching an artist and looking at their portfolio, even for the simplest of tattoos. I can't say that I'll sway from my normal artist ever again, though. read more
