Excellent! The food, service, ambiance, delivery, care... everything was person! There are a ton of options on the menu to cater to the size of your group (I.e. al a carte, large party, single dishes, group sharing, everything between, etc) which is helpful. We had a hand full of things to share and plenty of drinks. For appetizers the dumplings were my favorite. For the mains you simply can't go wrong with the BBQ chicken (you get two different kinds of meat. Feeds 1-4) and the vegetable fried rice. Delightful spot for a visit!

This is a long overdue review since we went to this restaurant over a year ago and will rerun next week. Anyways, is a modern Chinese-Japanese restaurant located at the heart of Edinburgh. If you visit the city and are looking for an exceptional dining experience, look no further than Tuttu. This charming restaurant offers a perfect blend of contemporary cuisine and warm, inviting ambiance. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with the delightful aroma of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The menu at Tattu is a celebration of creative culinary artistry. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing a harmonious balance of flavors and textures that delight the palate. The plates are rather small, but whether you're indulging in their exquisite seafood options or savoring the perfectly cooked steaks, every bite promises a burst of freshness and quality. One of the highlights of Tuttu is its attentive and friendly service. The staff are not only knowledgeable about the menu but also genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring you have the best dining experience possible. The place is heavily staff making it easy to be served quickly, and all of them seemed to be more than happy to recommend dishes or pair wines to complement your meal perfectly. The atmosphere at Tattu is both elegant and relaxed, making it a fantastic spot for any occasion, whether it's a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a special celebration. The place is FULL of flowers. Even at the ceiling hanging. The decor is modern yet cozy, with a touch of sophistication that adds to the overall charm of the restaurant. In summary, Tattu in Edinburgh is a culinary gem that should not be missed. Highly recommended! But make reservations in advance, since this place is always full.

Wow, let's start off with that. I came here for dinner and a night out with family and to enjoy Edinburgh. We had an early reservation as it does book up pretty fast. Funny thing, I've walked passed by numerous of time and never knew about it. When you walk in, there's a waiting area to one side and the bar to the other. As well as the hostess. We didn't grab a drink first as our table was ready. The whole layout was quite pretty. Asian inspired with all the cherry blossom everywhere. The mood lighting just gives it that extra pop. Menu wise for both food and cocktails were quite exquisite. Many of great choices were to be made. Wine selection was quite impressive as well. As most of the dishes were a la carte, we opted for the tasting menu. Pre set for two which basically everything that came out was amazing. The seared tuna was too notched and my favorite. Also the steak, cocked perfectly and really flavorful and juicy. Crispy duck, another favorite. Basically everything on the menu was amazing. I believe the sea bass, also cooked perfectly and tender and flakey. Finished off with the dessert which did the trick after an amazing meal. Everything was too notched, full of flavors and cocked perfectly. Service was seriously amazing. Everyone who came to our table was excellent. Friendly, attentive, polite and very gracious. Also recommend a good amount of cocktails for us to try. Highly recommend this place and for sure will be returning when we're back in town. It is a bit pricey depending on what you order but worth it.

The food and ambiance were very good but the service was horrid. I was sitting right next to the other people I was with during this meal and I wasn't asked once the whole experience on what I wanted to drink until I had to get the attention of the server's myself just so I can get a drink. I enjoyed everything about the restaurant but I was very disappointed about the service. EDIT- The restaurant is not able to make ANY accommodations to any item on the menu, so if you see something on the menu that you have interest in but want to take something out, I wouldn't recommend coming here.

Delicious! Our table tried the scallop skewers, caramel soy aged beef filet, green beans, and white miso salmon. It was all cooked perfectly. Their cocktails were beautifully served. Our server checked in frequently. The restaurant ceiling is covered in cherry blossoms, stunning!

The food, service, ambiance and decor was spectacular! Highly recommend doing reservations ahead of time as the place can get fairly busy If you're a large party I would definitely recommend the Modern Sharing. It includes three waves of meals, with variations in each wave. we were a large party and there was plenty of food for all. The hostess and our waitress were kind and friendly, they gave excellent recommendations and were patient with our large party.

Tattu is an atmospheric and moody little restaurant in the heart of new town within Edinburgh that just might transport you into a new world full of cherry blossom trees and love. The restaurant offers Asian inspired food and craft cocktails. The cocktails are elegant, floral, and some even come in decorative glasses that resemble roses and even dragons. While the cocktails are amazing the food is simply wonderful as well. The plates are best shared between people so order around 4-5 plates to share. While the menu can be a bit confusing the staff is wonderful at explaining dishes as well as making recommendations. Def a nice night out but make sure you're not in too big of a rush as service may be slower than you're used to.

The menu is alittle limited and we had a hard time finding what to eat so we decided on ordering small plates to make it tapas style. All of the food we did get was amazing!! My favorite was the short ribs. The ambiance with the flowers on the trees was so beautiful! My only real issue is the service was slow, maybe they were letting us dine and take our time but it took forever to just get brought the dessert menu. Overall I highly recommend Tattu!

Greeted and sat immediately on a Tuesday night at 1700. We did have reservations for 1730. The hostess was very friendly. The decor and ambiance is unique and delicate. The food was good. But nothing too over the top. The fillet was super tender. The drinks were pretty in presentation. Not as good in flavor. Overall, a nice experience. But probably wouldn't come back.

Came in out of the damp cold for a drink. Absolutely beautiful! Amazing bartender and so friendly. Come down the side street and check it out. You won't be disappointed

. For the entree, I had the White Miso Salmon, and the filet was so tender with a miso sauce that was to die for

I don't get the negative comments. We were a big group (9) and ordered mostly from their "Chinese…read moredish menu" (they have Vietnamese and Chinese dishes from multiple regions in China). The beef tripe was super yummy! Great with beer! Their braised pork belly with pickled veggies 梅茶扣肉 was done right, just like how a traditional Hakka grandma would make. The king prawns, the steamed fish, pan fried stuffed veggies, braised aubergines, & tofu 煎釀三寶 were delicious too. Beware of the spicy level though. You can ask for mild or not spicy on some dishes. The dishes we had were authentic regional dishes. Just not all from one region. A mix of north and south and the middle. I reckon their Chinese dishes would not taste like those from a neighborhood Chinese takeout shop though. Owner is Vietnamese Chinese. He said the Vietnamese pho and dishes were done how it would be made in his hometown. Gotta come back and try that. Also tried the Vietnamese beer. For what we had that night. It's 4.5 stars ambiance is casual family style

Mabo tofu is really good, nice and spicy yet light tofu. New favorite may be the beef ho fun which is so nice for the fried noodle cravings. Also, they serve bubble tea! The bubble tea is yummy.
