The physical therapists always act very kind on the phone when I had to reschedule 3-4 appointments since I am unable to drive a car due to my injuries and needed to find a ride to the location. Then when I arrived for an appointment one day, the physical therapist wasted 15 minutes of my 50 minute appointment blindsiding me with a demand: I adhere to a new cancellation policy of 1 week or more (versus the standard 48 hours). I refused, and eventually my appointment was able to begin. Despite losing a quarter of my session, I was not given extra time at the end, of course. The Schedule must be held sacrosanct! Later that day, I was called by Dr. Cohen to set up a new way of scheduling appointments on Mondays the week of. This was a fair workaround, but I was treated quite unfairly during that interaction; if I hadn't made a stink, I could tell they would have bullied me into unfair terms of service. I think the customer service (particularly Dr. Cody's) could be improved.

I have come in for several issues, and for each injury, the therapists really want to find out your main goal so that they can create a treatment plan that gets you to that goal in the fastest, safest and most efficient way possible. I am now back playing soccer a couple of times a week, pain free!! They recently relocated to a bigger office space, which now has an elevator. They have 2 floors, with one floor dedicated solely to the gym which gives enough space for a lot of activity. There is a lot of sunlight that comes through the windows which makes the place have a great ambiance.

I had a three level stenosis of my neck (cervical) vertabrae. Before surgery my surgeon recommended PT to assess if therapy would help. Bill provided me with exercises that improved my posture and relieved tensions. It made a big difference in preparing me for surgery. Following surgery my surgeon recommended more therapy. Wow! Bill was wonderful. He is a good listener, tells you what he intends to do to help, works with you during the session and you go home with printed exercise routines. The first thing Bill does when you sees you again is check on progresss. Bill is like a sports coach preparing you for living. Insurance and medicae accepted. I had an appointment with Dr. John Ferrell on September 12, 2024, at the ROSM Washington, DC office…read morebut left before seeing him because I was not seen in a timely manner and left after an inappropriate time to wait. This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.

Update: It's so much worse. I finally went to a Dr. who specializes in rehabbing wrists/hands post…read moreop. I had 3 months from the date of my surgery to recondition my wrist to be able to bend before the cartilage kind of freezes. At that point you permanently lose full capability. It's a biological timeline. So working on range of motion is paramount. At ATI I was provided puddy, a strength web, a hand strengthener, etc... We worked on range of motion for a couple minutes on my 4th or so visit. I never knew I was in a race against time. The people there were nonchalant and told me very little. I was left with a receptionist at times who said "you don't know how to do that?" when I asked for guidance. Eventually she looked it up. My physical therapist was two feet away not introducing herself or helping me. My new doctor, who again is a specialist can't believe how negligent they were. Now I have to face the real possibility that my wrist will never have full capability because I chose this physical therapist chain. I've gone to a physical therapist in DC who worked with me my entire session. That was my only other experience with physical therapy. Here, your physical therapist may be speaking with an employees across the room, working with a patient with more significant needs, or sitting with you but not paying attention to the exercise you're doing. I actually wonder why I go. I do need physical therapy but they're very comfortable having you work alone for much of your appointment. It's absurd. It really feels like you're bothering them when you have a question or need guidance. Or if you get guidance it might be from feet away because the physical therapist is helping someone else so the entire gym hears. I could go on. I genuinely feel like they're annoyed I'm there like I didn't have an appointment and pay. It's been unhelpful and awkward.

The scheduling, intake and assessment went well, to the point that I could immediately see what I would need to be working on. Staff members communicate well with me and with each other. Anjali is my therapist, and her guidance and feedback through the assessment and the program is clear and encouraging. I recently needed to address an error I made in my appointment time, and staff were quick to assist me with the connection I was trying to make in navigating the process.
