I would strongly advise others to exercise caution and closely verify all filings and payments when working with this tax preparation firm. In our case, a required Utah state tax payment was not made by the deadline, resulting in penalties and a notice of lien from the Utah State Tax Commission. We were not proactively informed of the missed payment and only discovered the issue after independently following up. Although the firm eventually reimbursed the penalties, this occurred only after repeated follow-up and escalation on our part. Throughout the engagement, communication was inconsistent and unclear, and we had to repeatedly request clarification on basic items that should have been proactively managed. We also identified errors in our Wisconsin return, including incorrect location information. While the financial penalty was ultimately addressed, the overall experience reflected significant gaps in process, accuracy, and communication. We will not be using this firm again. read more

I contacted the Tax Company and met with Shawn Hirschi and had a positive impression and it was decided to move forward with him to do our taxes. We were out of state when Shawn called and left a message re some questions. I returned the call that afternoon and had to leave a message with Aubrey the receptionist to pass along to Shawn. Four days passed and I did not receive a call back. I called the office again and spoke with Aubrey and she directed me to his voicemail. I left a message to contact me re his questions. One day passed and I still did not hear from Shawn so I sent an email. A few days passed and I still did not hear from Shawn. I understand that this is a busy time of year but giving a message to Aubrey to call me was not possible? Being ignored is not professional and I decided that I could not put faith in this firm, you don't win clients by ignoring them. To my knowledge there weren't extenuating circumstances that would explain this behavior. read more

We saw that they had great reviews on google so being new to St George we thought we would give them a try. SO glad that we did. Michael Finch did our taxes and he was extremely professional. Very knowledgeable on different tax laws and was a great help. He was very fast and efficient while also very cordial throughout. We will be using him and the Tax Company for years to come. The only confusing thing is that they go by The Tax Company. But since they have merged with other companies they are also known as Woodbury, Mitchell, & Finch. When you walk in the building, the board with all the names of companies on all the different floors will have Woodbury, Mitchell, & Finch. Highly recommend. read more
