The experiences that we had with the Viet was amazing. My husband didn't turn in our taxes early enough that I was afraid that we will have to extend our filing. But Viet came through for us and was able to get us our taxes completed by the 18th. We were given clear instructions of what we needed to do from signatures to sending a check to the IRS. I am fully confident in the services provided by Viet. But I certainly learned that we needed to get our taxes done as early as possible to avoid anxiety during tax time. I highly recommend getting your taxes done here but please be completely responsible for your timing because we all know that taxes are due in April. I was having difficulty finding an Enrolled Agent for my daughter and son-in-law, and I was nervous when I first talked to Trang, because she said that they do not quote a price in advance. She assured me that I would be happy with the results and charges, and so it worked out. Trang, Viet, and Clare were easy to work with, they communicated quickly as necessary, and the returns appeared correct to me (I had estimated previously). From the time I gave them the documents until the returns were ready to file took less than two weeks. We'll surely be back to them next spring. read more

For an accountant that claims to be so busy and his time is really valuable, it appears he's obsessed with responding (multiple times) to negative reviews. He did a good job on my taxes the first year, but the second year was not the same experience. My issues were about communication with him, not his actual tax preparation expertise. We waited 2+ weeks to hear a non automated response with an estimated quote/deposit after sharing our Dropbox link as you include in your instructions. I had to follow up TWICE before finally ending my last email with the note that if we still didn't hear back then we would have to go with someone else. That's when you FINALLY responded and neither that OR any of the automated responses mentioned us missing the March deadline or any explanation as to what happened. You only included that AFTER I wrote this review and put it in your "FYI" email shown below! For anyone interested, I've got the original emails, screenshots AND time stamps to prove it! My original review was kind, but don't try and save face by pasting information that was not received until after the fact. It's unprofessional and so disappointing for me as a repeat customer!! ----- My husband and I have been happy, repeat clients of Viet's for the past few years until this year. I realize it's a busy time but for whatever reason this time around we never heard back on our estimated quote to move forward with the service. When I followed up for the second time I had asked questions on how to file for an extension and what we would need to do to get an estimated quote (since we've never been in this situation before), and I was met with a response suggesting "it would be best for you to find someone else to help you." Viet explained errors that my institution missed on my 1099. This caused an enormous penalty. Viet corrected it and worked diligently to ensure I was completely satisfied and could expect a refund . My wife and I just finished meeting with Viet for our tax preparations, and had a great experience. He is transparent, extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, and is willing to go out of his way to answer any questions you may have. Not only was he professional, but he was very pleasant to talk to and never made us feel like he was in a hurry. Viet treated us like valued customers. Short background about myself... All my life I've gone the Turbo Tax route as a single person but never really knew what I was doing. I've never had anyone to ask "What is this and what are my options? How can I learn from this year to save more money for next year?" Turbo Tax won't answer these questions for you. After I got married, I decided to invest more into our future and reach out for help and guidance on taxes since it wasn't just about myself anymore but my family. When you walk into their shop, it's very warm and welcoming. The front of the shop seems to sell items you'd buy to decorate your home. The layout was very nice. It was like walking into someone's living room. When we walked in at 6:45pm for our appointment, we were greeted by Viet and his wife with warm smiles. It didn't feel like an office but a place that made you feel at home to relax. I noticed they even had cookies in a glass jar on the counter with a note that said, "Homemade. Please take one." Who doesn't like free, homemade cookies? Maybe I'm just a sucker for cookies... Viet brought us to the back office where he had his desk and computer. By the doorway of his office, he offered complimentary snacks(crackers, candy, etc.) and bottled water. My wife and I had just got back from work in San Francisco and were a bit hungry so this was a lifesaver. Going over finances on an empty stomach while tired can be stressful. He took his time explaining and going through everything: our current tax bracket, what the brackets were, our tax withholdings, our ira accounts, our home, explained itemization, where we could have saved money if we did certain things, explained how small businesses and people with children were benefitting from taxes this year(we have neither), and without a sign of impatience, explained how this all calculated to a certain number. At the end, I even asked if he could show us how much we would have saved if we did things differently. Within 2 minutes, Viet clicked on the mouse a few times, and BAM! He showed us how much we would have saved if we had contacted him before making these financial decisions. We regret not asking for advice sooner! Lesson learned, we're going to get back on track! We definitely are going to contact him before making any changes to our finances in the future to avoid losing more of our hard-earned money. Viet's experience, wisdom, and professionalism made my wife and I feel safe and secure for the future. You'll know what I am talking about right when you meet him. The best part is that Viet offers his services for a very competitive price based on what we found in the area. Try it. You won't regret it. Trustworthy, knowledgeable, helpful, and he seems to care a lot about his clients. Now, the negatives about this store. If you're driving fast, you might miss the shop. Slow down, and keep your eyes peeled for a brown-ish building. There isn't a ton of parking in front of the shop (one or two of the parking spots can be a bit tight). I think it's 4 or 5 shops that share 8 or less parking spots, so don't come here in a huge truck or it will be tough. You might be able to find street parking though.
