Over priced they will take advantage of you not know how to do your taxes I have had the worst…read moreexperience here I don't recommend it to anyone.

Came here to avoid going to a commercialized place like H&R block. I'm from out of state and thus…read morehad to do 2 state tax returns, which i figured would be complicated. There weren't a lot of the yelp reviews for tax services, so i figured I'd write one. I called to schedule an appointment for my partner and I, which didn't take long as tax season has just started. When we arrived, check in took about 10mins, which didn't seem too bad. Our preparer was Yana, a nice enough young woman. It took our preparer half an hour to log in to their system, but i suppose that may have been out of her control. Once started we let her know we just moved from another state and that we'd have to file in both states. She got started and asked us a few questions and that was it. She didn't really let us know what was going on and if she had any questions, she would ask the owner, David. I knew our taxes were going to be a bit more complicated than the usual taxes she works on, but being new to the state and oblivious to taxes, i was hoping she would at least be a little more transparent with us so we can learn about what was going on. Finally she asked us for about 10 signatures, on the first one, we asked what we were signing and she said, " it's so I can begin processing your taxes." Fair enough. On the second, we asked again. She said, "same thing, it's for the taxes." Mind you, she was not showing us her screen or anything. All we had before us was a 3x8" digital signature pad and her description of what we were signing. At this point, i was onto her and was not doing my signature, just long horizontal slashes on the pad. Once she finished, i asked for print outs of what we signed and a breakdown of the costs. We were charged a lot, but again, i figured it was the dual state taxes. We arrived 2hrs before closing and left 1 hour after. We probably spoke 5 times in that whole duration and we left questioning everything and honestly, feeling robbed. So I got home and reviewed the signatures. Most of them were standard federal forms that I've signed before, but about 3 or 4 of them were about consenting to sell my information to third parties. I was angry because she didn't tell us that at all. The next day, i received a call saying I had to go back in to re-sign because they found they made an error and couldn't submit my documents. I went in and i asked her to retract the other signatures, but it was too late for my partner, because her taxes had been submitted. So she said we can just cancel the spam texts, or if they're calls, just ignore them. So that's great. Long story short, we went to the H&R block on Division and Burnside and worked with Dana for a "second look." She was wonderful, and let us know everything she was doing and even had a second monitor for us to see. She let us know everything Yana did was correct, but that they overcharged us. Lesson learned for next year. Be forewarned. DO NOT sign anything without them showing you.

Horrible! An absolute nightmare! First, I thought that using…read moretheir tax professional service might be economical, but when they gave me the bill I fell off my chair! $1035! They have a system where they charge you by the form they file, so be very careful! Then, when the IRS kept rejecting my return, Dana kept fixing it and assuming it was filed, so she didn't return my messages. I went to this location before the extension deadline, Dana was there fixed it again, and the IRS rejected the return again. She assumed she fixed it and went on vacation, but I wasn't able to resubmit it through their interface. So, they've charged me $1035, left my return on rejected status, and all locations are closed! To add insult to injury, their customer support telephone numbers are mostly geared for online DIYers, and they're retail support won't give you their ID numbers, thus zero accountability! Update 1: I already called customer support, they said they'd get back to me in three more days! Update 2: Six days and running, still no response from H&R Block Customer Service! Total fraud & ripoff!

Not all H&R Block's are created equal!!! I've been going to one in OC - hilltop for 2 years. I…read moremoved so I went to this one. And now I have to go to the one in OC and start over because this one let me down. I started communicating with them end of March and as of today they're not responding to me. I needed to do my taxes, my SO taxes, and my deceased fathers taxes. -poor response time -hidden unexplained fees -took 3 weeks for a response on my taxes -just found out TODAY that they never opened a profile for my recently deceased fathers taxes they said they were "working on" -I called yesterday and spoke to someone that said they couldn't answer any questions because they were not sure why my tax fee was so expensive and that I don't have the option to use my refund to pay the fee. I didn't have money to pay the fee because my dad just died and I'm on maternity leave and had to use all of my money from maternity leave to pay for his funeral stuff. So I told her I would just call back during the week. - it's Monday and a money transfer came through so I now have money to pay the fee - I tried to log into the app and ALL of my stuff is deleted and there's no where to accept my filing and pay. So I've called their office multiple times for help and no one will respond to me. Tomorrow is tax day and they're not answering me and I have to file my taxes, my fathers and my SOs. -My SO decided to just use turbo tax. I didn't want to redo it all so I called a different HnR - the one in OC on hilltop- they were able to pull my stuff up and they're having me come in and sign and GUESS what?? - they're allowing me to use the refund to pay. They looked up my dads information and this HnR block NEVER even opened a profile for my dad in the first place. So now I have to file for an extension and start over on my dads stuff. The people I spoke to were Gloria - super nice but admitted she couldn't answer any of my questions or help me use my refund to pay. Keiko- new employee and couldn't answer a lot of my questions either but was nice Another "tax consultant" that told me they were working on my dads profile - I can't remember her name but she is supposedly the only tax consultant at this location. So thank you guys for adding to the stress of my recently deceased father and brand new baby and dealing with this probate stuff. If you do NOT know how to do something or it seems too complicated- then please send people elsewhere and don't waste their time. For other customers - go to another HnR block- I am a very patient person and I feel I have been put through the ringer. This entire situation was 2 appointments and several phone calls and here we are the day before tax day and they're not responding to me or helping. Good luck - I hope you have a better experience than us
