I've been working with Fahim from tax care since I've moved to California and I have to say.. this is as good as it gets. There is long list of traits , which make Fahim a great choice for taxis, but here are the top 4: 1- Personality: while this isn't the most important thing you look for in an accountant, it is the first thing that strikes you when you meet Fahim, so this seems like a good place to start. I hate tax season. ( I know.. how weird..Im sure I'm alone in this right?) I hate everything about it. I hate numbers, I hate not understanding what words like "Fiscal" mean, I hate calculations, I hate going through receipts, I hate figuring out what is deductible, what might be a stretch, and what is downright illegal. I hate those terrifying letters I get from the IRS, (which usually turn out to be nothing- but still- ugh I hate them) I'm not going to say that after meeting Fahim, I jump for joy when it's tax season, but he definitely takes the edge off. And.. as an added bonus, there will be lots of laughter. And it never feels like doing taxes. Think, an informative lunch or nice cup of coffee with a hilarious, very knowledge, long lost friend. A long lost friend who's got your back. It truly does feel that way. He explains everything in a way which is easy to understand. I find this baffling, because he is just brilliant. (more on that below) Rare indeed is a person who can grasp concepts of high complexity, and explain it in laymen terms to one who is .. how shall we say it.. numerically challenged :) 2- He's Brilliant- This man has the IRS textbook/website/ and resources memorized. He knows everything there is to know about taxes. He computes crazy algorithms in his head, and what's more important, he understands appropriate application of such. He understands how every single life event (even one you may consider trivial) may impact your take home and/or it's tax implications. This man lives and breathes taxes. And because he is friendly, and sees and treats you as a valuable person (see #1) , in whom he takes genuine interest, he is more likely to know about major or minor life changes, and explain how this may impact you from a taxes standpoint. 3- He's organized- which is great. because Im not. like - at all. Which is rather tragic, because I have several jobs, a w2, 1099, and pay from out of state, and move very often. This is one of the many reasons I thank my lucky stars for Fahim. Often times, I've lost paperwork, or forgot about something major- and with one phone call- Fahim will retrieve the information he needs, and resolve issues. 4- He's trustworthy- Fahim is of the highest moral character, highly ethical, and I trust him with one of the most personal, anxiety provoking aspects of my life. I cannot say enough good things about him. I've been holding off on this review for a while, because I think he's one of the best kept secrets in the bay. Tax Care does livescan service for a school I work for and they come out and do 30 to 40 students at a time. For the last 2 years we've had excellent results from them and no problems at all. I find it very hard to believe they would lose paperwork and say you would have to pay all over again. Once you get your ATI number that means it has been transferred to DOJ or the FBI. Then DOJ and FBI would transfer your information to the requesting company. Tax Care is a great place and the has one of the lowest price around for rolling fees. I moved to Colorado 3 years ago and Fahim continues to amaze me. Fahim completes my taxes by telephone appointment since the move. Usually takes about 15-20 minutes. Dont believe me? Go in for yourself! I highly recommend this place to anyone. I went in just for notary and found out that they do all sorts of things besides taxes that really do apply to me. I had to get fingerprinted last minute for my daughter's school as a chaperone and they took care of me without any issues.
