Purchased a vehicle from here, I probably should have walked away from the get go but really wanted a car. I was told I couldn't test drive because it had not been detailed yet, and was surrounded by other vehicles. I was assured that I could test drive it before I met the finance guy the next morning. The first red flag was that finance guys had to leave early the next day so if I didn't get it done first thing then in would have to wait another 2 days. The second red flag was they couldn't find the key and told me to start the finance stuff while they searched for the key. The third flag was when the monthly payment was 30$ more than we agreed to. I got up to leave but the GM sorted it out by playing finance magician. I drove the car from the lot and a check engine light came on almost immediately, I turned back into the lot and they pulled the codes and rest it. The codes said the clutch fan was bad and they would take car of it. I came back after it was fixed and drove it home. The check engine light came on the next morning and the Trailblazer (02) sounded like a jet taking off. I drove back to the dealer and they took me outside so I wouldn't make a scene. I was being loud. When they listened to the car they said that was normal and the car is "as is". That was two years ago... since then I have replaced a transmission, complete front end suspension - pretty much twice, plugs and coil packs, wheel bearing hub assembly, neutral safety switch, sway bar links (all of them), u-joint, 4x4 actuator, front end differential housing, countless fuses and wiring harnesses, calipers and rotors oh... and a clutch fan. The car is junk... The dealers are liars. Avoid at all cost. Read the unrecommended reviews as well!!! Update: 1/2015 Car still junk. I hate it and Taylor Chevrolet. Recently purchased a Nissan Rogue from Taylor and it is fantastic. I couldn't be happier with their sales department, especially John McGraw. They found exactly what we wanted in a small suv, down to the color and specific features. John has even been nice enough to pick up our car while we work, change the oil, and return it before the end of the day! Most importantly, my husband and I are confident we received one of the best deals possible with a new car purchase. John made sure that we came in during the best time to buy so that we could take advantage of their promotional 0% interest for 5 years. We also recently used Taylor to service our other car, an '02 Nissan Sentra. Not only did they squeeze us into their already busy schedule, but they didn't even charge us a diagnostic when they couldn't find anything wrong. In the meantime, they filled the tire pressure on the Rogue, free of charge. I'm happy that the small town of Lancaster has a friendly auto dealership and look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

I understand there are some mixed reviews regarding Taylor Chevrolet, but my experience was 5 stars. My sale rep Michael, an older gentleman was incredible to work with and really took the time to test drive a ton of cars. We took up over four hours of his time. He was helpful in very manner knowledgeable and friendly. He was never pushy and made sure we had our space to talk and discuss. When we told him we had other cars to drive at other places the next day he remained professional and courteous. The next day we did come back after driving three other cars at different dealerships. Truly the experience at Taylor Chevrolet was great. When it came to working out a deal, they were reasonable and easy to work with. I feel I not only received a great deal, but the service, knowledge, and respect from this dealership will bring me back again and again. Oh, just a side note there service area and showroom is great! they have 6 different types of coffee for free and a comfortible sitting area. Not that this a deciding factor but over the two days I enjoy the constant cups of French vanilla to keep me going. Thanks again for the great car and service!!! read more

The Service department has NO idea what the definition of "SERVICE" means! Purchased a "Certified" used car in march, took it back almost immediately due to recalls and to check out a horrible clunk it was making. They said they heard no clunking noise and gave us the car back. The next day I was driving to Lancaster and it began to rain, I went to turn my wipers on, and they wouldn't work! They had forgotten to put something back together when doing the recall repair! When I took it back, they seemed unconcerned I had one of the most horrible times driving in my life. Was told there was recall for the ignition switch, (when we purchased the car that was a concern, and was told it had been repaired already.) When we said that was a major concern to us, we were told to just drive with the ignition key only. No concern at all for our well being. refused to provide a rental car. Took it back for a couple more recalls, the FAB stopped working and still complaining about the cluck.They wouldn't replace the FAB and each time, they couldn't seem to hear or find the crazy, random cluck sound. Took it in for our free oil change and they didn't reset the oil life light. Took it in again for the same clunking sound after talking to some mechanic friends who gave their thoughts on what the issue was, and was told our warranty had expired. It was 125 miles over! It was the very same complaint we had when we first drove it off the lot. A certified car means your certain NOT to have this company take care of you. You bought it, its your problem! One of their famous lines as they drag on the repair process is, they are waiting to hear from the manufacturer to see if they will cover the part. If the manufacturer wont cover it, it can be certain THEY WILL NOT STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND COVER ONE LITTLE THING. It's there yet again as I type this for another recall item. I cringe at thinking how long it will be there this time. My grown daughter also purchased a car from them, she has been without her car for a week and a half now having recall items replaced. And they do not feel any need to give her a rental car as they now are replacing her ENTIRE ENGINE. But that's her review to write. We will NEVER purchase another car from them again! The used car sales manager Tim Walters was really nice, but he paired me up with a sales hack named Cliff. Cliff was not impressive. He did have a 'great' deal, just what I needed and the price was $2500 less than it could have been for that model (Chevy Cruze), year (2012) and the miles (45K). Supposedly sales guy Cliff's own father had previously owned the car and he supposedly knew how well it was cared for (more on this later). When I got in the car, it reeked of chemicals with a hint of cigarette smoke. I asked if his father was a smoker, he said no, that smell is from the detailing chemicals. At some point I dutifully asked for the Car Fax, right? I got a piece of paper to take home, I had never seen a Car Fax sheet before and figured I would look at it later. It turned out to NOT be a Car Fax sheet, it was some other service I had never heard of. When my wife looked up the Car Fax online she discovered the car had been leased, not sold. Which is fine, except it's not what Cliff had told us. The sales manager (a really sincere person), sent me home on an overnight test drive so I could show the car to my wife. She gagged when she got in the car from the smell of cigarettes (my nose is not very good). I'm guessing the cigarette smoke is the reason for the low price on the car. I was told that the car could be bleach bombed to get rid of the smell, but I figured that was the chemical smell that was in the car already and decided I could not take the chance on the smell staying, or returning after buying the car. I took the car back the next day and walked away from Cliff at Taylor Chevrolet. I honestly thought enough of Tim Walters to give his staff another chance, without Cliff in the picture, but the only other car in the lot I would have been interested in was a color my wife insisted was not going to work for her (burnt orange?). Bottom line, I trust Tim the sales manager, but Cliff the sales guy - I can't say. Maybe that really was his dad's truck. Maybe his dad lent out the truck regularly to a smoker and his nose is as bad as mine. I chose not to find out. I have a 2003 cavalier that I got from Taylor. I have tried since August to take the car in and keep being told they are booked for the month and call back later. This has been a on going issue. Last month l was told by the service manager to take the car some where . I am having trouble with the headlights, so I took the car to sears to find out it may be the wiring in the headlights. And the dealer would be the best bet, l call the service department and was told they are booked till the middle off January. They won't let me make a appointment for a later date. I need my headlights to drive at night. What the heck. read more

Some of the absolute worst customer services I have experienced. After we bought the car we had to wait over 3 months (after multiple calls) for them to send the spare key and fob. Multiple times my wife was told that it was in the mail, but it was a lie. I spoke with a rep named Steve who lied to me again when he said that he would call me to update me on the issue but he had "lost or misplaced my number". A lot of lazy people who quit caring after the car is sold. read more

Love, love, love these guys! We've gone to Taylor for years for a majority of our cars. Working with Carmela was wonderful- I told her I want this or something the equivalent, this is what I want to spend and what I'm comfortable with, what do you got for me and she gave me what she had, no strings attached. I left with a Nissan Rogue, which I felt perfectly comfortable in and like the car isn't taking me over (something important as someone 5'2"). Long overdue update... I drove the truck to Columbus and noticed some vibrating in the front end, went to a local shop for a second opinion and was told that the ball joints are bad and that there was no way their condition could have been missed by someone who knew what they were talking about. Changed the plugs, which were covered in sand and did an oil system flush to get rid of the cam sensor tick. Never buying from Taylor again. read more

Let's start from the beginning... We paid an extra $1000 at the time of purchase to have our 2016 Chev Malibu LTZ certified. We did this for 2 reasons. 1) More warranty to help protect our purchase, and 2) for the added benefit of courtesy transportation while in the warranty period. I am a Stay-At-Home-Dad that lives out in a rural area without decent response for emergency services. My car is a necessity for the well being of our child. Fast forward to last week. I took my car in for an Airbag error code. After researching online, I found out that while the airbag error was active, the airbags wouldn't deploy. That's a problem. I scheduled a service time and day and took it in. Asked for my courtesy car, and was told that "Taylor" didn't give out rentals. I explained that my car was certified and that it was a part of the extra coverage. Acting a little huffy, I was asked for my DL and insurance information and he walked away. Upon return he told me that they couldn't find the issue and that I would have to come back in at a later date when the code appeared. Thankfully it appeared later that day and I returned. They figured out the issue and scheduled me for today. They also told me, at the time, that I would have a rental as the fix would take awhile. Well, fast forward to today. Let's not be petty and complain that it took me 15 minutes to be seen, and 30 minutes to have the rental agreement drawn up (mind you, this was a set appointment, not a walk-in), but then I was asked for a CC and a deposit on my rental. I explained to a Miss Diana Adams that I didn't have a CC, and that I wasn't aware, after reading all the documentation of the certified program, that I was required to provide any further CC information or any deposit for my courtesy vehicle, to which she replied, "It doesn't, Taylor requires the CC to ensure you bring the car back clean..." What? Are you kidding me? $1000 isn't enough? They want more? I will be following this review up by contacting G.M., Google, the BBB, Yelp, and anywhere else they will listen. I'm also going to contact an attorney to see what my options are for selling me a product and service that they, as representatives of GM, aren't fulfilling. You can't treat people like degenerates and expect to get away with it. They have a total lack of regard for anyone that doesn't buy their vehicle from them. In closing, after previously buying 3 cars from Taylor, I WILL NEVER buy anything, service anything, or even look at his dealership on my drive by. In fact, I am taking it upon myself to ensure that this gets out to EVERYONE. This is the absolute worst dealership within 200 miles. I will buy from Ricart Ford before I step foot in that showroom again. I hope I get a CSI survey to complete from GM....please let that happen, I'm begging. read more

We bought our car brand new from Chesrown but we get the service done at Taylor's only because it's closer. The first time we brought our car in to Taylor Chevrolet for an oil change we waited for over 2 hours, unacceptable! This was a scheduled oil change and shouldn't take that long. I understand the dealership can get busy and fall behind but 2 hours is horrible and they didn't even offer an explanation, compensation or to wash the car! The most recent time we had the oil change done it was over 1 1/2 hours, still unacceptable! I can do the service myself in 15-20 mins. Then to put salt on the wound, we always get a followup call from the service department basically begging us to give them a good review on this survey. Normally if I'm not satisfied I just don't fill out the survey but this is ridiculous. In my opinion, Taylor Chevrolet has been around for a long time and should have their act together, especially in customer service. If I had a better option I would take our car to another dealer for service. read more

I brought my car in on 3/11/17 for an oil change, alignment and to check a slow leak in my tire. I was there well over 2 hrs. This was after they rescheduled my appointment because they had over booked that day. When I finally left ($321 later) and was headed home my check engine light came on and my car was pulling to the right worse than it was when I brought it in. The light went out after a couple days. I had to take it back in the next week 3/18/17 for them to check it over and look at the alignment. I was told then that I would need tires soon and a new battery. I had just bought a new tire on 3/11/17 (nothing was said then) and I bought a new one just last year (another blow out). On Monday 3/20/17 low and behold my car wouldn't start. I have never had ANY problems before. I understand things happen with time and wear and tear but this is ridiculous. I have never had any problems with Taylor before so I'm not sure what is going on. Will probably be looking to get serviced elsewhere. read more

The service department is a joke. They "fixed" the wrong part on my car and still made me pay $200. When they fixed the right part , an over night job turned into six days. Another $390. It was a year and one day when the part starting failing again. They said the warranty time is only one year and they couldn't help me out. If they truly put a new part in it, I don't see why it would fail so soon. There is no way I would ever go back! read more

Terrible. Drove 2 hrs to look at a vehicle and decided to buy it. They told us there wasn't a warranty because the car was too old. Usually even used cars will have a 30 or 90 day warranty. But the car ran good and we felt good about it. When we were almost done with the paperwork, they give us the car fax and it says "lemon buy back". I ask what this means. And they tell me it can't be a bad vehicle because it only had two owners and the last owner had it a couple years. Well we drive it home and it's terrible. All kinds of problems! Runs terrible now. And most of all, the 4wheel drive doesn't work and I need it for my job!! It worked when we test drove it. Also, you'd think that if I was buying a lemon, it would have been a less price than a car just like it that's NOT a lemon!!!! They knew exactly what they did and the are a crooked business!! We test drove a 2000 Silverado yesterday evening. The salesman was very nice but the sales manager was not the least helpful. The price was over what it should have been considering there was rust bubbling up under the paint on a "rust free truck" and the undercoating would have to be redone on the underside and in the wheel wells because it was gone. Plus there was a vibration in the rear end which could have been a U-joint problem. We offered a cash out the door price that was $1,382 less than advertised and the sales manager told us he would only go down $100 because he could sell this truck this week. Ironically,at the bottom of their ad online, it said: "We never lose a deal over price!" They lost the deal due to price on this one. read more

We were looking to buy a car from Taylor and submitted paperwork for financing right before closing on a Saturday. They told us they would call us on Monday with results since they were closed on Sunday. They called Monday morning and said someone else expressed interest in the car we were looking to buy so we asked what we could do to take the car off of the market and reserve it for ourselves. We came to a price agreement and were told to provide a credit card for a $500.00 down payment since we were at work to hold the car until we could get there. They took the credit card info then about 3 hours later sent us an email saying they sold the car to the other people. They didn't even call!! They sent an email which and had the nerve to try to sell us some totally different model than we expressed interest in. We had a specific model we were looking at and were serious buyers. I called the general manager to ask him about this situation and notify him of the type of service that we received and he did not call me back. I wonder if the owner is aware of how they conduct business. I would not suggest them to anyone!!!! read more

The buying experience was good until I drove the vehicle off the lot. The tire pressure indicator light/message came on about 2 miles down the road. Tire pressure was fine - there is a bad pressure sensor on one of the tires/wheels. A few days later I tried for the first time to unlock the rear driver's side door using the keyless remote only to find the door wouldn't unlock. It wouldn't unlock using the button inside the driver's door or the button on that door. It will only unlock or lock by manually lifting or lowering the lock tab/lever. It is a difficult reach from the front seat. This is very inconvenient as well as a safety and security concern. When this occurred it reminded me that the same door had been unlocked on the dealership lot when the other doors were locked. I am confident the car was sold to me with this problem. I contacted my salesman about both issues. He was very nice and told me to bring in the car to be looked at. The door lock/unlock problem was determined to be a bad activator inside the door panel - parts and labor nearly $300 and not covered by the 30 day or 1000 mile warranty. The tire pressure sensor has proved to be intermittent issue - not a big deal to me so I didn't ask for an estimate for it. I am frustrated and disappointed that the dealership will not take care of the door issue. I guess I should have checked every button, lever, etc on the car myself before buying, but I was assured that it had been thoroughly inspected and there were no issues or non-working items. The 30 day or 1000 mile warranty only partially covers major power train items. This was not explained until the dealership told me the door is my problem. Within three weeks of the purchase and with limited driving, the battery became an issue - problems with dead battery. Yes, it is a used car, but the dealership assured me that their maintenance department had thoroughly inspected the vehicle and everything was in 'like new' condition and working perfectly. I should have done my own thorough inspection and testing of everything instead of trusting Taylor! If not for these issues, I would have given a five star rating, but Taylor failed to both take care of the problems before the sale and afterwards when it was fair and reasonable for them to do so. This was my first Taylor Chevrolet experience. read more

I purchased a vehicle from Taylor back in 2010. It has been a LEMON within a week of having the vehicle. First key fob did not work the next day. After that the windows wouldn't go down.. then if I opened the door on my side I could push the switch down and it would go down. Passenger side wouldn't go back up. I had to come and pay to have that fixed. Radio stopped working - all lights are dim, had to replace brakes, then my lights went out on me - this was all within the first few months!! I then was driving home and my steering stopped working - that was another 900 to have it fixed - and I did not take it back to Taylor to be treated poorly. I then just had my shifter cable brake on me. It was a recall - and fixed back then but it for some reason broke. We were told they wouldn't pay for it - because there is no way it wouldn't have broke earlier on me if they did it wrong. Seriously.. You sold me a lemon and I am making a point to tell people not to go there. I wanted to run when the finances guys came in and didn't. Should have trusted my gut feeling. My car is not worth putting more money into -I have to do 3000 more in repairs. NOT worth it. I would actually prefer to put it right smack dab in the middle of their lot with the words LEMON purchased here all over it.. maybe I will. read more
