I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders among all the chaos of wedding planning. My dress had three different fabrics that needed to be hemmed, the main fabric being tulle and lots of it. They also added several bustles, both French and traditional, to keep my dress up during the reception. You have the option of a clear button or jeweled. Because of the design of my dress, they recommended the clear. I picked up my dress the day before the wedding and it was absolutely perfect! CK is very professional, knowledgable, and timely. I had bought a sample gown and needed the waist taken out a bit and the bust cups moved down/ lined and of course the length hemmed. The only thing that was actually done before the week of my wedding was the hemming of length. When I went to go pick up my dress the week of the wedding, the cups had been moved even higher and had padding in them. I had to take those out myself and put the dress back together. The day of the wedding the zipper didn't even want to zip plus during my photos before my ceremony. The center of the zipper broke and I had to hold my dress together with safety pins. Save your money and go to another alteration shop! I would given this place zero stair if I could.

Thankfully my husband was highly invested in saving my favorite boots and he found Luis. Luis immediately knew how to fix the boots and confidently took on the task without any hesitation. Boots were not only perfectly repaired but he cleaned them up nicely, buffed out the scratches on the heel and they were returned better than new! Price was $100 to repair but a good deal considering that they are like new and much more affordable than purchasing a replacement. I think the major difference between Luis and others who repair shoes is that Luis has been making boots for decades, carrying on the tradition of four generations, so a major shoe repair will not intimidate him. If you visit his shop, take some time to admire both the boots he has made (he will proudly show you a pair) and the cool news articles on his wall. Fun fact: he was once commissioned by Governor Gray Davis to make boots for former Mexico President Fox!

I brought my Schwinn bicycle in for a brake adjustment. The tech who did my adjustment suggested I get a tune up & went through the details to explain why, but there was no pressure to have it done right there & then. On my way out, they offered me water (I probably looked like it was obvious that I'd ridden my bike to their shop in the August heat). When I went to leave, I mounted my bike outside the shop & realized the seat had been raised too high for me. I was not strong enough to pull out the adjuster to reset it myself, so I rolled it back inside & one of the employees happily reset it for me. He wasn't annoyed that it took 3-4 times to get it just right (i.e. back to the height I had it before). My parents & grandparents are/were loyal, long time Steven's Bicycles customers who were always satisfied with their products & work. It's nice to know their reputation has not changed, even with the new Clovis location.
