Avoid Taylor-Made Rentals like a rusty nail 04/27/2026 My wife and I returned yesterday from a long weekend at Deep Creek , MD. Our daughter and her family live in the city (Pittsburgh) and wanted to avoid the crowds from the NFL draft. We decided to join them and we rented a home " BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURE" through VRBO, the management company was TAYLOR-MADE VACATION RENTALS. We choose this house because it advertised with pictures and a description a child friendly play area complete with swings, slides, and climbing area just off of the deck. A perfect place for our three year old grandson to entertain himself. We arrived at 4 pm and as we walked to the front door the first thing I noticed were the dead and unkempt bushes that we had to avoid while managing not to trip over the broken sidewalk. Our grandson did trip. A definite safety issue. After we entered the house and walked out to back deck it was apparent that the house hadn't been cleaned or inspected. (Confirmed by TALOY-MADE) Leaf and tree debris littered the deck along with missing post caps and exposed nails (Safety Issue) and a gate that didn't lock requiring a bungee to keep it shut for our dogs. The lack of a cleaning crew was also apparent on the inside, dust, grease residue and scum. The outdoor furniture was in tatters, one umbrella literally shredded while the "good" umbrella was simply torn. The furniture looked as if it had been discarded from other rentals. Rusted to the point that you thought twice and then decided not to sit to avoid the raw rusted metal. ( The TAYLOR-MADE response, "just move it to the side".) Now we have three chairs for a place that sleeps six adults! At this point my wife and I made our way to the "child friendly" play area and realized it had been a long time since kids have played on this apparatus. The wooden rungs for the slides were rotten to the point of being broken and exposing 2 inch rusted screws. Our grandson was not going to play on this accident waiting to happen. That's not a problem for TAYLOR-MADE. By now it was 5:30 pm and we began calling TALOR-MADE. Over the next two hours we texted, sent photos and spoke numerous times with Nick who could not or would not offer a resolution or even an adjustment. At this point we contacted VRBO and over the next two hours spoke with two people both named Mohammad. In the end we were told to check-out by ten and expect a call from TAYLOR-MADE. At 9 am Friday we were packed and ready to leave but we hadn't heard from TAYLOR-MADE so we called them and spoke with Cheyenne. This was the beginning of a 4 hour ordeal with TAYLOR-MADE repeating their motto "we cannot help you". Eventually the company said they would send and inspector which normally happens along with a cleaning crew BEFORE guests arrive! Around 10:30 I met the inspector and as we walked to the door I pointed out the crumbling sidewalk, to which he replied, "we've been trying to get the owners to fix that for a while now". On the deck I pointed out the furniture to which he said, "I don't know why it's here". At the jungle gym I ask him if he would allow his children to play on it, his answer, "I wouldn't allow my kids near this. It's not safe". Two hours later the company called us and said we could have another rental but they wouldn't reimburse for our wasted 24 hours nor would they offer an extra day. Yet, since our complaints the photos of the children's play area have been removed along with descriptions from the listing. Should anyone consider renting BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURE through TAYOR-MADE or VRBO be advised: MAKE SURE YOUR TETNUS SHOTS ARE UP TO DATE.

Terrible customer service! I've called several times about a toilet that's not flushing and I requested more towels since we were only given 6 out of the 8 said to be in our unit; also I had to call someone to relight the pilot light in our fireplace. Emailing and talking to someone on the phone are two different things. The woman on the phone said sorry we can't give you any more towels, five minutes later someone showed up with a whole bag of more towels pretty messed up customer service!

Booked through Airbnb- Disappointed that they allow a big cooperation to list their homes on this app. Taylor-Made offered us $150 back on a $2100 three day stay .... BUT if you read the small print of their refund you can't write a review or talk about them in a bad way. I declined the offer. Issues with the home - -fireplace never worked - coffee pot broken. Didn't have a coffee pot the last two days. Had to go out to near by restaurant to buy coffee - oven handle broke off. While using - They repaired at 2:30 the next day. - lights burnt out. Lamp not working. Clock radio not working -Lock on two piece bathroom downstairs broken. - dirty stove top and wall by stove / fridge - dirty pot holders They charge a premium price but don't offer a premium home!! Do NOT use Taylor-Made vacation homes!!

Popular destination location & Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacation does not disappoint! The company offers vacation rental homes throughout deep creek based on how many in your party. We stayed at one of the locations across from the lake and enjoyed ourselves. The place was spacious for 3 adults & 2 teens! There's plenty to do for outdoor lovers, teens and kids.

I would rather post a truthful review than get any sort of refund

First and last time renting with them. I paid $75 to check in 3 hours early and walked in to a disgusting mess (see pics). I called the rental company and was immediately given an attitude when I asked them when the last time someone cleaned was. There was hair, crumbs, glass, dog food, grass, cobwebs, you name it. They sent 2 people out to clean and they finished around 6pm. The girls were very nice and did an okay job; they confirmed the house was filthy and even had to clean up broken glass on the kitchen floor. We also asked the cleaners to remove all of the plugins that were obviously there to mask just how dirty the house was. My nose kept running and throat started hurting not long after arriving... The rude representative asked if I had allergies, lol. Great customer service! I tried to leave a review for the house we stayed at- 'Absolute M' but of course they won't post it. This makes me wonder how many other people stayed there and had the same issues! One last thing: the house said it wasn't pet friendly; however, there were dog toys and bowls, with food next to it on the floor. So if you *do* happen to have allergies to pets, cross this place off your list. ***UPDATE*** I reached out to the crooks at Deep Creek Vacations to at the very least get a refund for the $75 early check in fee and they sent me a document to sign in order to get the refund... If I sign this, I would agree not to post a nasty review. Too late! Do not do business with them!

It is neither fancy, nor fussy and if you are looking for an Inn at Little Washington type place with expensive antiques and well-appointed spaces, you will be a bit disappointed. But this is rural Maryland, so go with the right attitude and expectations and you will love it. The couple who runs Haley Farm are down-to-earth, sincere and friendly without ever being intrusive. It is very much like staying at your favorite Aunt's house; she busies herself cooking and cleaning and fixin' for you, but she's always happy to set down her apron or dusting cloth and have a nice, long chat. The many, many animals who live on Haley Farm are no slouches either; they start your stay with a hearty welcome and a willingness to let anyone hold them, pet them and feed them. They are quite adorable and no small part of the charm there. Haley Farm would not be so very Haley Farm without them. The breakfast is delicious and bonus, there's a frig upstairs for the guests in case you need both brownies *AND* cheetos *AND* a coke at 2 a.m. which we did. You can also keep your own stash of wine in there, or whatever else you need refrigerated. When I think about Haley Farm, I think of the classic Americana cross-stich, "Home, Sweet, Home." And if you think of it that way too, instead of trying to compare it to more urban venues, you will really relax and feel like part of the family there.

We love…read morethe accomodations and the innkeepers, but on our recent trip we chose to stay someplace else because we don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and feared getting stuck trying to drive out of their rather long snow-covered driveway. Both times we stayed last year we had to rely on the owners for a tow to the road. Mind you we have a front wheel drive Saab Aero, so you'd think the Swedes would have designed a car that could drive through snow, but the snows last year were just too deep and we weren't willing to chance it again. That being said, this was a great place to stay, especially the time we got upgraded to the bigger of their two rooms. (The third accomodation is a a cabin for families.) We've stayed in both rooms. The bigger room is expansive with vaulted ceilings, a king size bed, a full size kitchen, and a modular sofa; the smaller room has a small size refrigerator, microwave and a small table and chairs. Part of the fun of getting snowed in on our first visit when we got upgraded was getting to the grocery store after our skiing and then making a comfort food dinner of meatloaf, baked potatoes, and oven braised cabbage for ourselves as the snow fell. The meal became hearty skiers' lunches of meatloaf sandwiches the next day and the cabbage became soup. Breakfast is always the fun part of staying at a B&B and here it consists of a precooked meal wrapped in plastic and placed in the fridge to reheat in the microwave the next morning. It certainly tasted better than my description sounds. For anyone like us who likes to recreate in the state parks, the owners will provide you a Maryland state park pass for free park access during your stay. Waters Run is located on a beautiful piece of property way off the beaten path. If you've got the right vehicle, it's a great place to stay in the winter and any other time of the year I'm sure.

A group of 16 of us booked for the weekend and I honestly can't think of enough great things to say. Seriously, everything about this place was AMAZING! I organized the trip, so I got to work with one of the owners, Jesse, to get everything set up. He was helpful, responsive, accommodating, and really kind. I organize a lot for my friends and myself, and this was one of the easiest. Upon arrival we were checked in by the other owner, Gary, who immediately made us feel like we were at home. He gave us a wonderful tour of the property and told us everything we needed to know for a wonderful stay. This property is nestled in the hills of WV and the views are STUNNING! Every space and room is beautifully appointed, really leaning into the upscale rustic vibe you'd expect in a mountain retreat. So many beautiful nooks and crannies to sit and read or play games or just nap. The pool and hot tub are gorgeous and Logan at the pool bar will take amazing care of you! They provide a complimentary breakfast of freshly cooked eggs, meats, and biscuits/scones. The lunch and dinner menus are varied and everything we had was delicious. Our servers, Rain (spelling ??) and Angie were stellar and the ambience was just perfect. Every single one of us left feeling refreshed and we were all sad to leave.
