    Summer vegetable minestrone
    Vincent R.

What a find for this area, our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this charming restaurant. It was the best meal of the week during our stay at Deep Creek. The husband and wife owners of this establishment keep a small menu, for their small but impeccably run inn. The dishes we selected ran the gamut of the menu, mushroom soup, butternut squash bisque and a summer vegetable minestrone, followed by a compliment of tomato, cucumber, and onion tart salads, then munching on our tenderloin with Cabernet sauce and ending with a chocolate pate. All of it was delicious. This menu changes daily with the locally sourced ingredients so no promises this will all be available but I have no doubt you will enjoy whatever is.

Stopped here on a Saturday for dinner. The original plan was to sit outside but like Outkast says - "you can plan a pretty picnic....." Anyway - old house, one room for dining and a couple from France who runs the place. Old decor very antique which I liked. Ordered the potato leak soup, Caesar salad and beef tenderloin. The soup was good, liked the taste to it. The salad was ok, very light dressing but a good enough taste as well. The beef was very good - cooked nearly perfect medium, but the potatoes were very cool, not hot at all. Vegetables were good, and for dessert hot apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Overall I liked this place - I would recommend it and hopefully we can go back and eat on the porch.

This is such a peaceful, of the beaten path restaurant. The owner and chef work as a great team to deliver the French experience. I would recommend this restaurant, make sure you call ahead to book reservations.

Hands down the best food on the lake. Relaxing, attentive and willing to adjust dishes to personal preference. So glad I was able to finally fit this in my schedule, it will now be a mainstay!

Found this hidden gem. You must call in advance and make a reservation. They do not serve dinner every night so call ahead. The weather was beautiful so we had the opportunity to dine on the front porch. Amazing food. We will be returning. Loved the experience.

It is neither fancy, nor fussy and if you are looking for an Inn at Little Washington type place with expensive antiques and well-appointed spaces, you will be a bit disappointed. But this is rural Maryland, so go with the right attitude and expectations and you will love it. The couple who runs Haley Farm are down-to-earth, sincere and friendly without ever being intrusive. It is very much like staying at your favorite Aunt's house; she busies herself cooking and cleaning and fixin' for you, but she's always happy to set down her apron or dusting cloth and have a nice, long chat. The many, many animals who live on Haley Farm are no slouches either; they start your stay with a hearty welcome and a willingness to let anyone hold them, pet them and feed them. They are quite adorable and no small part of the charm there. Haley Farm would not be so very Haley Farm without them. The breakfast is delicious and bonus, there's a frig upstairs for the guests in case you need both brownies *AND* cheetos *AND* a coke at 2 a.m. which we did. You can also keep your own stash of wine in there, or whatever else you need refrigerated. When I think about Haley Farm, I think of the classic Americana cross-stich, "Home, Sweet, Home." And if you think of it that way too, instead of trying to compare it to more urban venues, you will really relax and feel like part of the family there.

The innkeeper, Scott, knows how to make you feel at home. For breakfast, there is actually a menu where you get to choose from quite a few choices which is very rare in a b&b. Everything was delicious. He also provides snacks and wine every day in the late afternoon and there are always sweet treats like cookies and brownies available as well as coffee and teas. There is a small gift shop where they sell some Lakepoint Inn shirts, sweatshirts and mugs as well as bottles of wine. There are so many wonderful seating areas, all with views of the lake whether you want to sit in rocking chairs or comfy wicker chairs on the porch or at some bistro tables on the back patio or Adirondack chairs by the fire pit. As a free service he also offers hour long rides on his pontoon boat every morning (weather permitting), you just need to sign up. There are also kayaks and canoes available to use for free, you just need to sign a waiver. Scott is a gracious host and the Inn is wonderfully appointed, you lack for nothing. The only complaint I would have is that if you stay in the Vagabond Room, be aware that because it is on the ground floor and right beside the kitchen, you will hear people talking and the hustle and bustle of breakfast being prepared. Not a problem if you're an early riser at about 5:30. But the room was huge! And felt very luxurious with bookshelves and a seating area and fireplace. We will definitely be returning to this Inn!!!!!! I can't say enough great things! Oh, also the location is fantastic, you're near everything!

My two sisters and I (and our significant others) came to celebrate a milestone birthday and were beyond impressed with this place. The ambiance is fantastic! The courtyard is beautiful as well as the patio in the back. The decorating that Kitty has done throughout the inside of the house is really beautiful. And as David says, "We want to concentrate on two things: The bed, and the breakfast." And that is exactly what they have done here. Each evening, David will come to offer your breakfast choices for the following morning. And it's not just bacon and eggs people... these are GOURMET offerings all made fresh on site using fresh ingredients. We had a choice of a peach cobbler oatmeal that had peaches from the tree in the backyard even and it was delicious! There was also one addition that just made my stay even more superb... a little dog named "Jack" and he is the most precious (smiling) doggie that I have ever seen! So stinkin' CUTE! Anyway... if you are ever in the area (checking out Frank Lloyd Wright's work) you should definitely give this place a shot. They are phenomenal! Thank you David and Kitty! I hope we get to come back again soon. :)

We hopped in the heated pool and enjoyed some corn hole. The first night we were easily able to walk to Honi Honi and Unos and the Casstleman Bakery and cafe we enjoyed walking to twice for lunch and breakfast. It is a busy street to cross without a cross walk, but we crossed at the light when it was on green. Hopefully a crosswalk will be added for additional safety. Unfortunately the internet/tv was out during our 2night, 3 day stay, but it wasn't really a problem as there was so much to do and we were really able to talk and enjoy each other's company and conversation! I would definitely recommend visiting and will absolutely be back again! Don't forget to take a trip to the FireFly Market and cheese shop. Cheese and wine pairings are so much fun and not far at all!
