On March 9th, my Honda Accord broke down in Manning SC. Through my car insurance, I got a hold of Taylor Made Towing. Since it was almost seven in the evening when the tow truck arrived, the driver told me that the place the insurance company wanted me towed was closed, so I asked him if he could tow me to Freedom Honda in Sumter instead. The driver - I think his name was Chet - was wonderful. He got me to Sumter, and since it was now almost 9, he dropped me and my car at a hotel close to the dealer, where I was able to get the car repaired the next day. I scheduled to pick up a UHaul and my reservation was moved to this location. When I arrived to pick up my UHaul the doors were locked and the lights were off. I called the towing number and the man who answered told me that someone should be there and he would call to figure out what was going on. A short while later the doors were opened. When I went in to pick up my UHaul the lady there told me she couldn't help me because she had already shut her computer down. The business isnt supposed to close until 5. When I asked how she shut her computers down already and they dont close till 5 she yelled at me "BECAUSE IM NOT UHAUL". She was very nasty and rude towards me for no reason. read more

We are so thankful for Taylor Made and specifically, Jody! My husband and I were traveling from southern Florida to Massachusetts and while near Manning, SC we shredded a tire on our boat trailer. Anyone who has traveled the I95 corridor knows it is not a fun place to break down and can be downright frightening. After using their app and also multiple calls to AAA (including being disconnected several times and not receiving the promised call from dispatch), I was told it would be almost three hours before someone would be there. And yes, it was evening and approaching darkness. On my fourth call to AAA I finally found someone who escalated our situation to critical. Within minutes I received a call from Taylor Made Towing & Recovery, LLC to obtain our location. Jody was there 10 minutes later. We were unable to remove the spare tire from the bracket and ultimately Jody had to take it back to his shop to remove it. He went way above and beyond and offered to go buy us a new spare, at 7:30pm, before returning to us with the original, so that we would have a spare for the remainder of our trip. After putting on our spare, Jody showed us the new tire bill and included it with the very reasonable bill for his excellent service. (Credit cards are accepted.) My husband and I were on our way to NC from FL and got a flat tire outside of Santee, SC. Definitely not much in this part of the South. We made numerous calls to Tesla roadside assistance and got nowhere. Luckily for us Taylor Made Towing is a AAA rep and Jody came to our rescue. Our tire was a special order and we needed to be in NC by a certain time that day. Jody towed us to a Tire dealer in Sumter, SC knowing right next door they had an Enterprise Rental Car office. We ordered our tire for a Monday delivery, rented a car, drove 3+ hours to Durham NC and made it in time for our weekend of festivities. Had Jody not had the foresight to offer us these options, I do not know what we would have done. He went above and beyond for us and you can tell this is how he always operates. Got a flat tire in rural South Carolina at night and had to leave my car in the middle of no where overnight. Guy showed up the next day (missed catching his name) and was so kind a courteous. Genuinely kind business that is willing to help. I called when I was having trouble passing through SC on my way to FL. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere in my overheated car and was calling for a tow because it was pitch black and the car wouldn't go 5 minutes at a time to anywhere. They gave us a call back but luckily we made it to a place to stay for the night. They even checked back up on us the next day after they were done with their jobs. 10/10 read more

Through a series of mishaps I had the opportunity to deal with both Johnny and Jody at Taylor made. Three blowouts on I95 are enough to get on your nerves. My wife's nerves were shot as these blowouts occurred in succession. Both fellows did all they could to alleviate some of the stress. Three roadside assists each of different distances gave them plenty of opportunity to calm the situation. The last road call involved Jody's son as Jody was 150 miles away in GA. His son drove about 110 miles to provide the necessary assistance . Jody met us upon completion and they both escorted us to our hotel. Freak situation, probably (hopefully) never happen again. But Taylor Made stood by their word and provided the necessary assistance throughout. Service above and beyond the norm. I would recommend these folks to anyone needing towing or recovery. Absolutely amazing. On a trip from Maryland to Florida, my car died, but Joey made everything better. He helped us get to his town, a little further South, instead of where AAA wanted us backtracking. Joey helped us secure a hotel room, he took our car to his amazing mechanic (who will get a glowing review next), then took us back to the hotel. The following day he went above and beyond by making sure we were taken care of, and quelling my fears when the mechanic had a family emergency and was out of touch. In well over 30 years of driving, have never had such a pleasant and seamless "roadside assistance" experience. Had a flat on the way of from Charleston, SC to New York in a one-way car rental, and Taylor Made showed up WAY faster than promised--a 60 minute window proved to be less than 45. Johnny B. was efficient, cheerful and courteous--he called ahead once in route saying he was "20 minutes out," only to arrive less than 10 minutes later. Amazing customer service! My car broke down just outside of Manning, and we called AAA. Jody from Taylor Made Towing showed up within a reasonable amount of time. My wife and I suspect the transmission failed by her description how the car was behaving. Jody picked up the car, and we he was going to drop it off at a transmission shop the next day. When Jody suspected a different issue. He had the car worked on, and when it was ready, he called and I came and picked it up. Jody's integrity is top notch! We were in a multi-car collision June 23 and our insurance company sent a crew from Taylor Made to haul away our vehicle. One of the other cars was covered by the same company so two tow trucks were sent. The gentlemen were very professional, efficient, and courteous during a difficult time for us all. They're fantastic. Our car broke down while coming home from vacation and they drove us and towed our car to the mechanic. Quick, very friendly, and just overall a pleasant experience. They made something very stressful less so. They're a little pricey if you pay them directly, but paying though your car insurance provider (like AAA) was incredibly inexpensive (in our case, at least). read more

We had a flat tire on I-95 at approximately 9:15 A. M. on September 10, 2020. After our call to AAA for road side assistance we were told someone would be to us by 10:40. Within 5 minutes of being off the phone we received a call from Johnnie who told us he was 5 minutes from us. He changed the tire which could not be repaired. He advised us not to travel too far on the spare. We asked if he could recommend somewhere in Manning to purchase a new tire. He called EZ GO for us in Manning to check to see if they had a tire. He confirmed for us they did and gave us directions to the business. Johnnie followed us from the site of our trouble to the exit (which was just 4 miles) then led the way for us to the business. When we got there he came to the car and told us he would take care of everything inside for us. Johnnie went far beyond our expectation for service. This business been called for us before when we've needed road side assistance and we HIGHLY recommend them. Horrible ! Arrived 2 hours late ! I was in manning with a flat tire and they were called at 6 , they called at 7 saying they we're in the bed still arrived at 8 and began talking with another road side driver already on the seen ! When I asked him was he going to repair the tire he replied " when we finished talking " ! They are unprofessional , racist and lazy ! It took them 2 hours to come 5 miles down the road ! DON'T CALL THEM THEY WONT SHOW UP AND WHEN THEY DO THEY WILL ONLY TALK ! read more
