Frank and Joe's Deli of Pleasantville - Savior - baked eggplant, mozz & prosciutto

Went on a Harley ride with my dad with Frank and Joe's as our stopping point for lunch, and I was…read morepleasantly surprised with the deliciousness of this unassuming looking Deli in a quaint town! I'm originally from CT but now live in CA, so I'm always dying for some delicious & authentic Italian food when I visit back home. This deli definitely did not disappoint! I opted for the Pizza sub - chicken cutlet, mozz, and pepperoni - on a hard roll. They asked if I wanted to add some sauce so of course I had to listen to the pro's suggestion! This sandwich was perfect. I was sufficiently full from half of it but I had to push myself over the edge and eat the whole thing because it was just good enough to do that. The guys working here are also so nice and funny; they had great personalities. They gave us paper plates and lots of napkins as we went to eat at one of their small tables outside, and even knocked on the window to see how we were enjoying our meal as we ate which I loved, lol. Sadly I not live around here, but if so I'd be a frequent patron! Besides all the tasty subs to choose from, they also have a variety of hot food and cold salads, as well as some fresh pasta and other Italian foods to buy and cook at home. Do not overlook this delicious deli!

Go to the Jean-Jacques restaurant!…read more The newly opened French restaurant is terrific. We enjoyed excellent coq-au-vin, mussels, salads, wine, and dessert. Everything was well-prepared and presented, and VERY reasonably priced. Yes, it shares ownership and building space with the excellent bakery / lunch place, but judge the restaurant on its own merit--and it merits patrons as our meal was superb.

We were driving up to our house in Connecticut one afternoon and we weren't too hungry but wanted…read moresome nice coffee and maybe a pastry, so I opened up the Yelp app and saw that Jean-Jacques was right on our way in Pleasantville. We hopped off the Saw Mill Parkway and made our way here. There is a private parking lot for the restaurant, which is very nice. It was a sunny day and they had the front patio open for dining, but we sat inside. Once inside, the sight of all the delicious food made me hungry so I ordered a cheesesteak panini and fries. My husband got a jajik sandwich and a chocolate tart. My sandwich was delicious and filling and the fries were very good. I had some of the chocolate tart also and that was really good. Soooo chocolatey. Lamentably, I forgot to take pictures of my food. I was so hungry and it looked so good I scarfed it down and only as I was wiping the crumbs out of my mustache did I realize I didn't get any photos. I guess I'm a bad Yelper. Oh well, that means I have to go back so I can take photos of my grub next time. And I do hope to go back. If you're in Pleasantville, you should stop by here. It's also very close to the train station if you're coming through on Metro North. The folks who work here are super nice as well.
